I actually remember watching only seasons 1-4 of Digimon as a kid but in my teenage years I decided to give savers a shot and it surpassed all of them for me, It was really a great season. I have never seen a tamer like Masaru who punches Digimons along with his partner, It's badass. Bancho Leomon was really cool, I liked Mercurymon too, also it was stacked with royal knights, and my favorite demon lord as well, I honestly couldn't ask for a better Digimon experience.
Digimon was a huge part of my childhood and I felt like savers paid off, I wish they took this direction with more seasons, making the main cast older with more mature tone was the right decision.
Nice to see people who appreciates this season, I wish more people got into it.
fun fact, between the seasons 4 to 5 of Digimon they aired Gash Bell in Japan in the slot that Digimon aired
Onmyouki looks awesome! I'm surprised I've never heard of this considering that it's Sunrise, let me know when you watch it I also want to know how it is. As for AGE, yeah I felt the same way it doesn't really deserve the hate it gets. I love the multiple generations concept but the show unfortunately suffers from the same issues as any other Gundam AU which is just being a very very condensed UC.
I think you would really like Ryu Knight tbh, get on that when you can. The OVAs are especially super good, the TV series is really good too but it's more sci-fi focused and falls off in the second half.
As for a revival, SSSS Gridman and Zegapain are the closest we will get to a new Webdiver probably haha, I think at this point it getting into SRW would be cooler. Still! It's not impossible as Tomokazu Sugita LOVES Webdiver and talks about it in nearly all of his streams, on top of that the series is weirdly popular still in Japan. It seems that a lot of kids in the early 00s grew up with it and still have nostalgia for it. If you check mandarake you can see that the DVDs of the series goes for 1200 dollars. 1200 freaking dollars!!!! Which is crazy expensive for a show like this, not to mention for some model kit poll that GoodSmile made, Gladion came in the top 10. Hiroshi Negishi, the director of Webdiver also loves referencing his previous shows so I'd say it's possible.
I see you finished Argento Soma, what did you think of the ending? I've seen the show twice now and the foreshadowing in the beginning is really crazy, there is a lot of symbolism about "rings" that don't really make sense till a second watch. Did you see the stuff with Mr X. coming? Or the ED of the show summarizing the entire thing? If there's one show I didn't expect to be all over it's Argento Soma, the show has so many layers to it that it is insane. The resolution Takuto and Frank got at the end made me cry when I first saw it. Don't forget to watch the OVA special too, it's a really nice send-off to the show.
As for the amount of mecha I've seen, yeah. It has sort of been a personal mission of mine to watch every mecha anime ever (and I've been following it for the past five years). I have like 30 something shows left, I'm pretty sad to be done with it all to be honest but the ride was well worth it (besides a few stinkers, which is to be expected.) There aren't really any shows that I regret watching when it comes to mecha.
