Welcome, to anyone stumbling across my profile!
I started getting myself into anime at the age of 6 and have almost been nonstop ever since, with my first (not named Pokemon, Naruto, or Dragon Ball) being surprisingly Code Geass. I've been grinding to watch way more anime as I tend to be very curious about the comparisons, discussions, and reviews revolving around each anime. I also elected to read a lot more manga, light novels, and visual novels for the same reasons. You might realize that I'm very harsh with my opinions as I tend to act really critical but don't assume that I'm a blatant hater as I enjoy any type of medium. It's just that there are a lot of stinkers to me that compare and contrast ones I like or admire. Biased, I know, but that's what it is. Outside of fiction, though, I'm also interested in studying and talking about marine biology. I've been a big fan of sea animal life, so I'm happy to be a nerd regarding those kinds. And if you ask me what my favorite sea animals are, mine would be a tie between octopus, orca, mantis shrimp, and crocodile. Just one more thing, I'm welcome to any type of discussion! Just please, make it civil.

My favorite visual novels
Yes, I'm aware that some of these technically aren't visual novels but they still have a lot of visual novel aspects so I would still include them.
そうですね、これらのいくつかは厳密にはビジュアル・ノベルではないことは承知していますが、それでもビジュアル・ノベル的な側面を多く持っているので、やはり含めておきます。

Also, Merry Christmas. Hope you had a great day.
To be completely honest, and I'm sorry, but I really have no clue how that would go or what you mean by that😭. I really haven't thought that far about it... But yes, I would love an epilogue of Silva, and I think it's been rumored that a mini biome for Silva's remains will be added in the bottom of the Abyss. That really sounds so cool. I have managed to finish WotG with Infernum by playing it here and there, and it was extremely fun. Probably the best modded playthrough I've had. I feel like it would be very difficult to do without Infernum in future playthroughs, so it's sad that it won't be getting any updates anymore. Hopefully tough, they will be projects by other teams who want to make a more recent port of the mod for future updates.
Solyn's questline was very endearing, and the mod progression was very immersive, and although I did encounter some data erasure problems with modded progression in the end (just when I was about to fight Nameless Deity), it's nothing I couldn't fix. I had to force spawn Solyn in the Eternal Garden. Kinda anti climactic, but same end result, and I got my ending.
Now that I'm on vacation, I'd like to actually complete Hollow Knight and get the fourth ending. I haven't done the Pantheon yet, but I'm very excited to do it. Pure Vessel is the coolest-looking boss in the game and the one I'm most excited to do. Actually defeating Nightmare King Grim and Zote's final form (I migh not be able to do this one lol) is also on my list. I'm not skilled enough yet to do challenge runs, but I have watched a few videos of those on YouTube and they looked so fun. I have already bought Silksong and I'm excited to play it soon. And yeah, some Hollow Knight OSTs are so peak they could easily fit into Dark Souls. But personally, I never listen to music while playing games.
Yeah, Slick Cane is bs. I've looked it up, and it's just a total pay to win weapon, even more than coin gun. I've never used Vile Feeder, but I did temporarily switch to a summoner loadout in the end game, and it was absolutely busted. Though the reason I did that wasn't even because of its power, but because one of the summoner weapons, Lilies of Finality, is a Signalis reference, which is one of my favorite games, so I just had to use it lol. It's always cool to know that you like the trilogy as much as I do. I feel like a lot of players don't really like it or are indifferent to it, but Ark of the Elements is one of my favorite weapons in the mod along with Superradiant Slaughterer. Ark of the Cosmos is the most disliked out of the bunch, but I did find it to be a very useful (and fun) weapon to use singlehandedly against the WotM Exos, which are honestly so well done and much more fun and Infernum or base Calamity Exos.
I think I remember you mentioning that Infernum Yharon sucked, but I actually preferred him that way a lot more. I'm not a big fan of base Calamity Yharon being a bullet hell boss, and Infernum Yharon, with all his dashes and cooler attacks, feels like you're fighting an actual dragon rather than dodging fire balls for most of the fight.
I'll definitely let you know, and we could definitely talk about it if you want. Like I said, I've been too busy to start anything for the past month and a half or so, but since I'm free now and the novels are actually not long at all, I'll try and give it a read soon!
As for Hollow Knight, I actually pretty much completed the game, and I have to say it has definitely become one of my favorites. It's really fucking genius. Such a beautiful game from start to finish, though a few parts did give me cancer ngl (mostly White Palace and the Path of Pain). But that's not something I'd really complain about at the end of the day. It literally felt like playing a 2D Souls game, especially with a lot of concepts being reminiscent of Dark Souls, like picking up currency after death, a curse (the Infection) ruining a kingdom and making some characters lose their mind, and the City of Tears that really reminded me of Anor Londo. I also love the worldbuilding and aesthetics, gives me a mix of Nausicaä, Made in Abyss, and Dark Souls (of course) vibes. Also, that final phase with the Hollow Knight helping you beat the crap out of the Radiance and destroy the light was the coolest thing in the game. Oh, and Sealed Vessel is 100% the best OST. The way the tone shifts as the boss starts repeatedly stabbing itself to desperately fight back against the Radiance inside is both heart-wrenching and terrific. I'll just stop here since this paragraph won't end if I keep talking about every single thing I loved about the game.
Yeah, Cosmic Discharge is absolute bullshit, and I don't know why it hasn't been fixed yet. LMAO I almost did what I just saw in that video, but I felt absolutely shitty about it, so I sticked to using Excelsus, Murasama, and Galaxy Smasher. And yeah, I do remember how powerful Meowmere is in Calamity, but I sticked to using Ark of the Elements for the simple reason that it was just cooler. And for Gael's Greatsword, I totally agree. The sprite is just perfect, but the effects don't look as cool as I thought they would.
Another amazing-looking gun that completely slipped my mind and didn't mention is Voidragon. It definitely has one of the coolest sprites in the game. I totally agree with the part about Soma Prime, though. It's very underwhelming and disappointing how bland it feels compared to Kingsbane, its component. I expected something much cooler when I crafted it for the first time.
Yeah, I'll definitely read those sometime since I'm a huge fan of the manga, but I'm currently focusing on the Re:Zero novels.
i'm curious do you hate shonen? there's so many anime i liked that you rated lower than a 5. :((
I think I actually watched this challenge a while ago, it was really cool. And damn, that really sucks... Guess I'll do an Infernum playthrough sooner sometime, then. Still playing Hollow Knight, though.
I don't think Yharim would be past his prime, especially since it's only been a few years since he disappeared after the events. It would feel much more rewarding to have to fight him at his full power. Although I don't know much about the lore at all, so you might be right. And Xeroc is not actually Nameless Deity, he's that Monk who absorbed Zeratros' soul (who was weakened after fighting off Moonlord, I think) and became the first God, or at least from what I've read in the game boss lore items. Nameless Deity, the God of Light, is based on old Calamity lore, which is why I've been reluctant to add the mod in the first place.
To be honest, I didn't find post-Moonlord to be repetitive or anything, but it did feel a little empty compared to the rest of the game. Probably because the vanilla progression is completely over by then, but it does give it more final vibes. Hive Mind and Perforators as post-Moonlord bosses doesn't sound bad at all, though I wish they'd rework them to be more epic if it happened. But now that I think about it, not getting their amazing accessories early on would suck, so I'd wish they'd at least add a bloody worm scarf upgrade like they did with the Amalgam.
Yharon was such a cool boss fight, though I can't like that I almost lost my mind because I put him at 1% HP not one, not two, but three fucking times. Why? Because I was trying to aura farm with Murasama at the end. My fault, I guess. Also, cosmic discharge is busted. The first thing I did after defeating Yharon was getting his second phase's music box, because it's absolutely peak. Same for Supreme Calamitas, who has my favorite OST in the game. I love that you don't kill her at the end. I built for her a brimstone themed manor. Also got Gael's Greatsword from beating her in Death Mode. Not the strongest weapon, but still cool af to have. And yeah, I was using Calamity's Vanities, which also lets you craft the Tyrant's Cape that comes with it.
Being tanky is indeed cracked, but it didn't really save me from any boss near the end game. Maybe because I wasn't running pure tank as you said, because I still wanted to have fun, but it was still a very forgiving experience. Tyranny's End is beautiful, but my favorite gun design and animation goes to Kingsbane. It's one of the coolest fucking things in the game.
