  Introduction Hi MAL users! Welcome to my profile. Born and raised in Hong Kong, anime culture could be seen everywhere. The "Umbrella" Movement, an important event in Hong Kong's modern history, had used Totoro as one of their character mascots. I have an original poster from the movement in my bedroom, although it was only until I got into anime that I realized who Totoro was. I began my MAL journey on February 17th, 2016 when I was recommended the site. I came in expecting MAL to be a streaming site. This happened to be the coinciding date that my love for anime began, as I became enraptured with anime through Another. Watching it dissolved my misconception that anime was just for children. Club It was Hyouka that led to my investigation of what the MAL forums were like. I was interested in seeing if there were any Classic Literary Club reiterations, but to my disappointment, they were all extremely inactive. Upon completing Gosick, the first anime I had completed in March, I had the sudden urge to create a club. This came in the form of The Newbie Club. At that point, I had no clue what I was getting into, but I was able to expand and build upon it through the support of many others. I began the club feeling it was important that new members of both MAL and anime have a place to confide in and connect. I also remember first entering the medium, being confused about all the terminology and variety of anime. It is for these reasons the club was created. Not much plans this year, just staying at home and applying to places, lol! I REALLY want to get a job this year so that's going to be the main focus. Other then that, I'll also be getting the new Pokémon game this Fall and play it in December, after I'm caught on all the anime I wanted to watch this Spring and Summer (I'll be watching some of the Fall shows as they air as well, probably).

I took my bike out and went on a ride with the parents recently since we have a cycling road nearby, and it was quite fun! Got a nice view of the river around sunset time and on the way back spotted a bird who started talking to me, lol!xD Oof, good luck if you do! Its quite a long way between the two cities, I only really know the time in car and train but its around 3-6 hours (3 for the train, 6 for the car) in good conditions, not counting all the traffic. I did a bike trip back when I was in the scouts and we went 385 km with 80 km on the first day to Fitzroy Harbor, which is about an hour from here, so yeah, the difference is noticable. Especially since it took us about a day to get there, accouting for breaks and all. Haha, same here! I get by with the threadmill at home and my 1h+ long walks twice a month in Go, but I still feel its not enough..=v='3
P.S.: Sorry for the uber late reply, 2025 has been an hectic year so far and so I made the decision to only do profile replies twice a year this time around (in June and December)..=.='3
