My Scoring Guide based on a number of factors that I will update soon-
10 - Mindblowing! A total Masterpiece.
1- Unholy appalling bulshit! Kill it with fire!
My scores usually range from 2-9 and you have to really go the extra mile to get a 10 or a 1.
2 - Complete Bulshit
3 - Bulshit with something to watch in it
4 - Got some good parts but mostly bad
5 - The good and bad balances each other out with nothing special either way
6 - Quite watchable. Sure, there are better series out there, but this one ain't a total waste of time
7- Actually good, but with significant shortcomings
8 - Solid watch, with forgivable flaws
9 - This shit is good! So good!
Dropped - There is nothing in the show that could hold my interest, not even the most basic curiosity of "What happens next?" or "How does it end?" (reasons for which I finish most anime anyway).
Unscored - Watched too long ago to score accurately.
Now the reviews. My reviews presume that you have already watched the series/film, hence-
i) They include spoilers. There is no point in reading detailed reviews before watching it, and MAL reviews are too filled with spoilers anyway (mostly without warnings).
ii) I don't describe events in detail either because, again, if you haven't watched it why are you reading a detailed review anyway? And if you have watched it why would I unnecessary lengthen my review?
iii) I provide certain perspectives and insights that I feel are worth sharing. I do not write full overviews of how every aspect of the series is. There are too many reviews like that, and once you have watched it you should be able to judge those on your own.
iv) You might be wondering why most of my reviews are negative. I usually only review series with great potential that failed to meet those potentials. I see no point in calling a bad show bad, or fanboying over how great a series is. If I got nothing new to say I'd rather not say it. If you check out my Anime List you'll find I give ratings of 8 or 9 too.
v) Apologies for the first five reviews I wrote (Serial Experiments Lain; Devilman: Crybaby; Kotonoha no Niwa; Yakusoku no Neverland; Dorohedoro) - those are poorly written and immature (as expected from a beginner), and I have no wish to revisit them either. I still agree with all the points I made, though.
P.S.: I sometimes review highly recommended but super shit anime explaining why they are shit just to enrage fans. Looks like I am being successful. :D
