Ended up watching it and I can't tell reality from fiction now. How did you give it a 10? lmao
Shamo's weird because it has a ton of great ideas, but also some not-so-great ideas that almost ruined the experience for me. In an attempt to not trash it, while also refraining from spoilers, it feels REALLY edgy at times, which is weird coming from someone who likes weird, edgy shit in general, but it felt like more shock value than anything, and its arcs range from literally forgotten, with a questionable tone-shift towards the end with a certain duo, to deserving of its cult status. The narrative handles a ton of interesting ideas ranging from criminal rehabilitation and society's treatment of criminals and whether they're willing to take them back. And its last few pages are tragic and are easily up there as the best part of the the whole thing (and not because it finally ended... sorta.)
Basically, I'd recommend it but don't expect consistency imo. It worked in my favour with its art and best arcs but its lows are, to be blunt, garbage. It also gets very... Vagabond-like (which I notice you're not a big fan of, lol based tbh) since it gets all weird and spiritual at times. It's a quick read, too, since it has a lot of big panels and concise dialogue so yeah.
