I get really bored and thus watch anime. I tend to finish every anime I start even if I do not completely enjoy the story I will watch it all the way through so that I can completely judge the series. The only anime I have dropped in Naruto because I just couldn't handle it anymore.
I love anime that makes me cry, if it hits my feels I will most likely love it. On the rating system I might be a little too harsh, but 10's should be limited or they lose their value.
Oh! I remember you alright. Don't worry about that. Been ages since we last talked like you stated. It hasn't changed too much. I still like what I liked back then and my top 2 are still Madhouse but yeah, I must say that my taste has refined little by little. I do not like comedies much any more for instance. I'm active in the sense that I use the MAL lists is all. I don't talk much on MAL anymore because most of my close MAL friends talk to me on Whatsapp and I'm very busy with my studies right now. As our 3 year club anniversary gets closer I wanted to to think and remember all the wonderful 3 years. To celebrate I decided to do a mini competition where all users have to do is vote on what show they want the next layout to be. Voting would last 2 weeks.
What are favorites to you? They're something that YOU hold dear personally.
There are perfectly sound reasons as to why it's at #3:-
1.) I fully respect and adore this series from the bottom of my heart.
2.) My love for this series isn't superficial or temporary. It's been on my mind ever since I watched it and I'm still having endless conversations with my MAL friends who've also come to adore it.
3.) Any series that makes me write a 2500 word response to a reaction in defense deserves that spot. I haven't defended any series so staunchly. Not Monster, Magica, Geass, Gintama or Chihayafuru. This was a first.
4.) There's so much meaning and subtlety involved in this series. It's not something that's easy to grasp. My character attachment and immersion was absolute and it really hit me hard on an emotional level.
5.) It's so damn underrated and under-watched. Some of my friends....well...Pretty much everyone that I recommended it to so far have loved it to death. The characterization and development in this show are something to behold. That, coupled with the serene music, outstanding direction/execution and excellent writing makes for one hell of a gem. A very underrated and under-watched one at that.

After saying all that, it hurts to not have Erin, Glass Mask 2005 & CHIHAYAFURU in my top 5 but I can only have so much. Wish MAL let us have a top 10 instead.
That and the fact that it focuses on the Araragi Sisters. It doesn't sideline Hitagi. There is less of her but that makes it even better when she's on screen. It makes her all the more fascinating. There's also an epic must watch toothbrush scene and an epic Pencil scene as well. There's also a very intriguing and important character named Kaiki. Hitagi shows up regularly till episode 7. Also there's a lot of fanservice.
Yeah embodied everything that the Monogatari series stands for. Quality wise it was sublime. The direction, writing, dialogue, character interaction, music, use of the ED, voice acting especially by Chiwa Saito, animation and HITAGI SENJOUGAHARA, everything was top notch.
The dialogue was most definitely magnificent in this episode. You described it well.
I so wish there was a girl like Hitagi in my life too.......
