I found volumes of Shugo Chara! and Death Note manga in my local library when I was in 5th grade...and I've gone on an obsessive spiral downwards ever since. The first half of Death Note will always be a stellar 10/10 in my heart. I was absolutely blown away :')
Some of my ratings are definitely influenced by nostalgia. Alsooo, I don't have as much time to watch anime anymore, so for the past few years the series I do end up watching are ones that I'm already pretty sure will be 8s, 9s, or 10s in my book.
Yeah, Hamuko maxing her link with Shinjiro does make her responsible for saving him :) although it's unfortunate that her route isn't canon. He dies no matter what in Minato/Makoto's route.
It's been a while since I've played, but I remember even if you 'save' Shinji on the FeMC's route, the game basically treated him like he was dead and not in a coma since they were too lazy to rewrite some dialogue xD
P.S. is she also responsible for literally altering Shinjiro's inevitable demise, especially when she has no idea that in doing so, she unknowingly saved him out of forgiveness??
