You are correct, this show is a lot of fun. Also, what were you expecting? They were going to encounter the Red Dragon eventually, did you just not want that to happen and for them to forget about saving Laios's sister? The series is rated TV-MA for a reason. The setup for darker stuff is there right from the beginning. I can reassure you that the series still keeps its tone consistent throughout the whole run. You literally said something along the lines of "Oh, the plot is becoming more serious? Nah, I'm out.". It's almost as if you're allergic to that sort of stuff.
P.S: I don't mean any harm by saying this, I just feel as if you're coming at it from the wrong angle is all. Thank you for reading (:
