Personally it's one of my all time favourites but whether or not you'll enjoy it depends on how well you respond to gruelling historical character dramas. If that's something that compels you then I definitely think it's worth giving a chance :P

Lone Wolf & Cub in general is a pretty revered series among a plethora of artists and its influence runs deep across multiple artistic mediums. If nothing else, I'd say it's worth checking out purely for its legacy and how it established the trope of an adult and a child embarking on a perilous journey. It's one of those works that's difficult to do justice with words simply because of how monumental it is. Also it just kicks ass tbh.

The review is a parody/satire of typical negative reviews that have bad reasonings, and since Gintama is a parody anime I found it fitting to make such a review.

The show makes fun of itself and negatively compares itself to other Shonen Jump series regularly, anyways.

It's from Lone Wolf & Cub. Glad you enjoyed my thoughts :D

Thanks for understanding and also sharing your POV. You do have a point there, and maybe I'll see it in a different POV as I watch the anime.

No worries, feel free to take time to reply. For the first point, I don't think that there should be consequences for every little thing, but since there has been none so far and everything goes the way Chitose thinks, I find it not convincing that Chitose is having a hard time because he won't even understand if he did something wrong, and that the story is not just about Chitose's world (vs real society if the author is trying to portray that).
I also realized after I didn't explain enough about why I think he's arrogant - it's not because of what's done to him, that is not his fault - but it's the way he rationalized it. He believe that everyone hated him because he was perfect, which is probably true, they are jealous at him - but his response was to "lower himself to match the others", meaning he does look down at them. Now he doesn't back down, and even make jokes that he's perfect, but he still look down on people like how he basically divided his group into the "good popular kids" vs the other "bad popular kids".

These problems could probably be fixed if the author didn't write it as Chitose's narration all the time.

Honestly at times I can see the author's attempt to show that Chitose is flawed, specifically his insecurities - which makes sense why Asuka implying about Chitose is trying too hard. He seems to admire Asuka and probably wants to be more like her because she is the opposite of him - she is a little odd, but is likeable. His insecurities came from how he's so perfect and that's why he was villainized during his childhood, and I found this very...self-centric/arrogant - which I think is his core flaw, but it hasn't been addressed or let alone being criticized for seriously. When that happens, it comes off as a joke or someone is being jealous of him.

Also, even if he question his actions - he never receive any negative consequences from them. His actions always works out at the end, even if his methods weren't great.
Also, even if him and his teacher is questioning his ideas, it always ends up true - his friends and school hierarchy behave and works as he thinks/describes. So whenever anyone is saying he is imperfect, feels like it is just talks but there's little evidence. That's what I felt when I see that Asuka scene on the anime yesterday.

"What made everyone hate you so much?" well...I guess they were offended by my reviews haha

Yeah, sure, I'll give you a few. Taiki and Chinatsu were dull as dishwater, had no chemistry, and the situations in which they kept finding themselves were contrived beyond belief. The supporting cast (maybe sans Hina) was also incredibly weak. The production of the show itself just left me whelmed; everything from the directing to the art to the animation and music and beyond was basically only mediocre. Most of what took place was just facile and boring - 25 episodes for what? The show always teases that things are heating up between the leads and then, often in the very next episode after an egregious cliffhanger, dispels the tension and resets things and contrives a reason for why they (of course) can't actually just get together and get the fuck on with it.

50 episodes of these dolts lamely trying to figure out their feelings for each other isn't compelling. It's so friggin' long and drawn out, and probably not because it's some grand opus that the mangaka desperately feels the need to tell; it's just a popular, serialized thing that presumably pays well. Same as most other WSJ tosh.

Also, why would what I think of Blue Box negate my thoughts about, and points made on, a few other entirely unrelated shows?
