Beside these two we have already mentioned I am planning to watch "2200-nen Neko no Kuni Nippon" from this season, but it is hard to say why I put it in my PTW list months ago. Reading its description makes me think that most likely because it seemed a cozy slice of life, but not much beyond that. That is why I started watching two other series from 2007 and 2013 (Aiura; Ghost hound), which have been in my PTW list for more than a decade. I think this season might be good for that, shortening your PTW list.

Oh it is that kind of trashy yuri we get almost every season recently. (It is sad the studios are not brave enough to adapt some of the more mature yuri manga) It has a girl in it who seems to be prone to depression because of the death of her parents and a mermaid who is after her and wants to eat her for some reason but we already know where their relationship is going :)

Hello there, how things are going? Since you have Girls Last Tour and Yokohama Shopping Log in your favourites I thought you should check out Touring After the Apocalypse in this season, it was clearly inspired by those two. Not the same of course, you might drop it after a few episodes, but it is better trying it than missing it.

Heeey, how are you liking Apocalypse Hotel so far?
Serafos Jan 11, 11:06 AM
Ihan ok tähän mennessä. Ensimmäiset 1-3 jaksoa olleet pääosin hyviä noista mitä seuraan. Tasokare Hotel on aika mielenkiintoinen. Death Parade tulee hieman mieleen tosta.

Hi there! Almost three years ago you asked me whether there was any other japanese movie beside After Life that was similar in its concept to Haibane Renmei. And now we have a movie called The Parades that was clearly inspired by those two. If you are still interested check it out on Netflix or you can download it from sites I won't name here.

Great to hear that! Also, if you haven't checked this out already, I think you might like this series! It's called Hirayasumi and though quite light hearted, it has very poignant moments!

Oof, sorry to hear that! Yeah, it starts off quite depressing but it does find quite a quirky slice of life vibe after its sad opening!

Hope you enjoy them!

Hi! Thank you for your kind words! I highly recommend Mizu wa Umi ni Mukatte Nagareru which balances its humour and drama very well while still being light and nuanced. Only caveat is that I think its romance could have been developed a little longer. And if you haven't read it yet, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is a classic of its genre! Its a slow burn, but it eventually twists into something quite profound. I also really like River End Cafe! It's a little more eccentric than your typical slice of life dramas as its a commentary on human trauma after natural disasters but I think it handles its pacing and characters very well! Hope this helps!

Heloo o/ Yes, YKK is something I will never experience again. About Sketchbook: Full Color's, it's great. If you like calm and relaxing animes, you might like it :D

No, I haven't seen anything from him previous to Happy Hour. It is interesting how in all the three movies I have seen from him he is trying to figure out women, who are dissatisfied with their marriage and depicts that how, because of that, they are being driven by emotions in a way that even they themselves can't figure out what is beneath the surface of their actions until they put those emotions into words and in a few times even after that eludes them the source of their inner turmoil. In almost all his stories those women are cheating on their other half or are being cheated. I am curious whether in Drive my car he will be dissecting the same theme from an other perspective. His writing skill when it comes to conversation is far above average that is for sure, I love how natural the dialogue feels in his films even if the situation turns in an unusual direction. My other favourite contemporary japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda is more into family dynamics. I recommend you his movies if you haven't seen them already.

I have just finished Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy, the movie which you mentioned earlier. I loved it, every one of the three short stories were great.
