Yes it's become a beloved tradition amongst me and my family. Do you have any certain traditions that you do throughout the year? Doesn't have to be Christmas related.
I understand where you're coming from. I remember my parents being pretty poor when they were first married, so we ate a lot of bologna and potted meat. Even today I still have grown a taste for it and enjoy eating it.
Definitely! And they end up being the New Year's resolutions that I never end up keeping. XD I hope to shave off 10 lb this year as my New Year's resolution. Already it's not going very well. π
I think one of my favorite things about the anime is that there are certain YouTubers out there that try to recreate the dishes that appeared in it.
So me and my family always have a tradition on Christmas that we follow every year. On Christmas Eve we watch It's a wonderful Life while eating menudo, then we go out and about in the city and hit all the spots that are known for having really good Christmas house decorations. Then we come home and watch a Pac-Man Christmas by Hannah barbera. Very late at night. Hahaha! Christmas day isn't anything too big, we just unwrap gifts and have a small baked ham lunch. Glad to hear you were able to celebrate it though, I understand how work can get in the way.
Yeah it is really good, I've always been a big fan of hot soups, especially this time of year. Do you have any favorite soups?
I hear you on the meat and cheese, I think summer sausages are some of my favorite things to spread cheese on during the Christmas season. Even though my waistline regrets it later on. π
So as far as upcoming anime, I'm looking very much forward to Dungeon Meshi and it's second season. Have you ever watched the anime before?
It's all good man, no worry about the replies. This is a busy time of the year after all. Thank you so much for the Christmas wishes, what did you do for it this year?
Definitely a good idea, I don't want to reveal any spoilers for you but you need to be ready. XD Sweet! How are you enjoying Xxxholic so far? It has such a mysterious aura to it.
Oh dang man I'm so sorry, with this being the Christmas season and all I completely forgot to look at that recipe when I was at work. I'm so sorry that I keep making you wait, I'll definitely have it with my next reply though. I think I've gone to the point where I need a tire string on to my finger. π€£
Very true! Over here for instance, a dish called menudo is really popular around the Christmas season. It basically consists of tripe, hominy, red chili and oregano. It's so good especially during these cold months. What's your Christmas tradition when it comes to food?
Sorry about the late reply to your earlier message, I recently finished the 2nd season of 86, and I feel that the ending wrapped things up pretty well!
Oh man when it comes to X/1999 be prepared for an emotional roller coaster, I know it was for me.
Cool! My apologies but I completely forgot that I didn't work today, so I'm going to have to definitely get it for you tomorrow. Don't worry it'll definitely happen then. π
Man when it comes to eating, I would say I must sucker for shrimp scampi and crab rangoons. I remember eating them back a couple of years ago for the very first time, and man did I want to pack all those away. My waistline wouldn't have been happy, but I know my stomach would have been. Hahaha! Are you a seafood lover as well? I hear you on the steak and potatoes, especially if those potatoes are scalloped potatoes. Man I'm getting hungry. XD
Yes my endless search continues! π«‘
So have you finished all of your Christmas shopping yet?
Yeah they're actually is an anime version. Though sadly there is still a lot of past clamp series that never got an anime adaption. If you're mostly into the manga scene over anime, then I think you'll be in for quite a treat. A lot of their stuff got translated so you'll have plenty to choose from.
Okay cool! I'll see if I can send you the recipe on my next reply, I have it written down at work so I should be able to get it to you by then. Do you have any favorite dishes that you like to make and or eat? Especially eat. π
If you've ever had a heath bar it's essentially that, but a lot better in my opinion. Sadly the candy bar just never really caught on, and is only sold in limited areas. Which breaks my heart! π Do you have a favorite candy bar?
There is just something about the old school that has such a charm!
Good choice! Xxxholic is a solid series, you can't go wrong with it in either the anime or Manga. πͺ Are you by chance a fan of Clamp?
Yes of course, if you like do you want me to send you my personal recipe for lemon pepper chicken skewers? I'd be more than happy to do that, they also taste good on salmon. π
I'm not too much into sweets, the whenever I do I always have the Hershey's Skor candy bar as my go-to. Have you ever tried it? π€
Of course! Always happy to make new friends on here! Especially fans of old school anime! πͺ
Yes yes I definitely agree! I think it's one of my favorite aspects about retro anime, they didn't pander to a mainstream audience and kind of just did whatever they wanted. It was so refreshing in my opinion.
Oh thanks man, I appreciate that. Yes of course, hopefully you find something in my favorites that resonates with you. π
I hear you on that one, this time of the year can be very busy. Are you finished with your Christmas shopping?
Yes I do. it's a crazy time for caters currently, with the holiday season upon us. I would say one of the more interesting dishes I've made lately for some of the homeless shelters are lemon pepper chicken skewers. Have you ever had them? The lemon really compliments the chicken especially if there is a touch of Rosemary added to it. Oh and Texas hots too! Great now I got myself hungry! π€£ What are some of your favorite foods?
Hey there man! Thank you very much for the friend request and the note you attached with it, it's nice to meet you. Hope to be good buddies on here! Oooooh duuuuude I see you are a fan of retro anime as well judging by your favorites. Sweet! π
