when i wrote the Matsuda comment, i said "no disrespect" so that you wouldn't think i was trying to insult you for only liking him LMAO. my fault, it's hard to tell what someone's intentions or feelings over text are if it's not self-evident.

what makes Light a fun villain, to me at least, is how he grows to be more overconfident and arrogant as the series progresses. couple that with the fact that he's already intelligent and we see how his wits play out when his twisted ideologies clash with L's, which makes for a fascinating rivalry. but since you don't like him, that's half of your enjoyment of DN already out the window. and that's fine. not every anime has to be enjoyed by everyone.

interesting. so the anime is more or less a faithful adaptation, it seems. your reasons are quite similar to how i feel about Future Diary's anime and manga.

what made you give the DN manga a 5, but the anime a 4? because to my knowledge, they're more or less the same aside from the ending.

Mother's Basement is someone i'd say i watch sporadically as with most anime YouTubers. only seen several of his videos, but he's alright.

i've also only seen Re:Zero and KonoSuba out of the parodied series, although i do plan on watching Overlord and Saga of Tanya the Evil. i wasn't too bothered by not catching the references and jokes, i just liked the premise of the show. interestingly, KonoSuba is the only anime out of the main quartet to not have its own chibi spinoff. i think it could work for the anime that it is, but alas, there seems to be no plans of that happening anytime soon.

side note: i saw Season 1 and 2 of IQ before i saw any of the main series in the show LOL.

nah, i found you from Red Bard's profile where you responded to her unpopular anime opinions (https://myanimelist.net/profile/redbardiscool), the comment isn't that far down, surprisingly.

i also don't do much on here aside from updating my activity. my way of watching stuff regularly if i can't binge a series in a day is usually watching 3-6 episodes a day (albeit time management plays a factor here). i don't have interest in any of the current anime this season aside from Isekai Quartet 3, really.

hopefully you and your wife and are able to stick to your plans, though!

Looking at your completed anime, it looks like you really enjoyed Raildex. I'm new to the series, and currently reading the light novels.

Hey, no problem at all! Having a busy life is a good thing, isn’t it? I haven’t been that active here anymore either, I mostly come here to put on a new song every month and to wish people happy birthdays. I am currently completely out of the loop in terms of anime.

My lawn mower is my neighbours, hehe. My old landlady has forbidden me to do it myself because of my allergies, which was pretty nice. Technically, part of the garden belongs to me, but I never use it anyway and I don’t think my neighbours know about it…and that’s the way it should remain, hehe.

Congratulations on finally finding someone! Sounds like you two get along really well, that’s awesome! If she watched Endless Eight with you voluntarily she must really like you, haha. I dunno anything about real estate prices, I’m happy with my big flat. It’s relatively cheap because it’s rural, which is hilarious cause you need a car to get anywhere anyway where I live so it’s not like it makes any difference if I live here or more urban a couple of kilometers further north.

Hehe, don’t worry about it, I am not the fastest responder either (as you know and see). There’s no reason to force it if you’re not in the mood for MAL. It just happens when you aren’t watching anime as much as you used to. Same thing happened to me as well as you might remember, I’m still trying to catch up with my reviews. At least I got some of them done, but there is still about a dozen or so to do. It does help that I am not watching many new anime these days, hehe.

Dating…I think I gave up on that a long time ago. I never learned how to approach girls in the first place and the few relationships I did have were because they approached me. Sounds kinda sad now that I actually put it into words, but I guess that’s just how it is. I think I’m just too lazy to put in any effort in that department. I don’t desperately need a relationship, I mean, it would be nice, but I am just fine without one. I’ll probably think different once I die alone, but that’s a problem for the (hopefully) distant future. But good luck to you anyways, for finding a playgroup as well!

Boy, it took me so long to move out of my parents house, I don’t wanna imagine moving back in with them. Especially not since me and my mom really didn’t get along anymore over the last one or two years of me living there. Our relationship got a lot better after I moved out.

Sounds like New Mexico wasn’t that much fun in the end. I dunno much about it, except that it has lots of desert and a tv show about drugs. Okay, I don’t know much about Ohio either, but I guess the climate is more sufferable at least, hehe. Working from home is awesome, I do it twice a week and I can’t imagine driving to work five times a week anymore. If they ever try to take it away from me again…better not think about it.

Yeah, the whole Corona thing just kinda fizzled out (and still does). I eventually got tired of everything about it, tired of the news being full of it, tired of all the limitations, tired of all the dickheads and their „truths“, just tired. And I still didn’t get it somehow. Maybe I have that blood type that allegedly is more immune than others, no clue.

Politics just depress me, I have lost faith in politicians in general. The more I inform myself about any kind of issue, the more obvious it becomes that they just don’t give a shit.

I noticed cinemas having more anime in their programm lately, probably due to the critical success of Your Name. Belle seemed to be a big thing a couple of months ago, though from what I’ve heard it has good music and not too much else going on for it, lol. My anime consumption has been very lackluster anyway the last couple of years. I think the only more recent show I managed to watch completely was Pui Pui Molcar. I absolutely loved that show, can’t wait for the second season!

Oh, I didn’t know she didn’t put out any videos in over a year now. Looking at her twitter, she seems to be concentrating on university (or whatever it is she’s doing). Oh, and you wrote her on MAL it seems, haha. I remember that yaoi paddle video. It’s kinda weird that this was a thing once and has pretty much vanished out of our collective memory. I also liked the „Evangelion AIDS PSA“ video she did, that was great. Lost media has become a big interest of mine.

Oh, i fell deep into the rabbit hole shortly before our last conversation. As you can see from my profile picture, I’m a big fan. It’s a bit weird, I was never into streamers of Let’s Plays or stuff like that, but these girls are so very entertaining and funny (and cute). Who knows, maybe I’m just a massive simp, haha. Suisei is a pretty good singer, though J-Pop has never exactly been my cup of tea fort he most part. I do enjoy Marine’s original songs though as well as Towa’s cover of Error. Though, as I said, I’m mainly in it for the lulz and the fuzzies.

Oh nice, I have an irregular trash movie evening with some friends as well. In fact, we had one last Friday (as of writing). We were watching Prisonors of the Lost Universe. Movie was quite fun, I personally prefer stuff like this to modern „trash on purpose“. There is just a certain kind of cringe charm that cannot be replicated by force.
