1. A show is nothing without a good script. To me, a good script means well-made characters that act realistically in the setting, good pacing, little exposition, lots of tension, a well-realized setting, and a decent ending. I view most anime with mind-blowing, existentalist endings favorably.

2. I will nitpick animation if the script is poor. In the face of a good script, animation doesn't mean much to me. Shows with good Western-style animation (A Journey Through Fairyland, The Reflection) or a good 2D/CGI blend (Xiao Qian) will always get high scores from me.

3. I do not consider sound/voice acting in scoring and reviews.

4. I am biased towards sci-fi, war drama, and kodomo anime and biased against fantasy, slice of life, battle shonen/competition. However, I do like some fantasy anime (Generation of Chaos III), some competition anime (Bakegyamon), and some slice of life (Kare Kano, Kaikan Phrase).

5. Most of my reviews have "themes". Right now I am focusing on writing joke reviews of hentai anime.

6. Most of my hentai reviews are joke reviews of the lowest hanging fruit on MAL. Most of them are reviewed for story. If I got turned on by a hentai and/or reviewed it for sex, I'll make that clear.

7. I generally don't read manga, though I do read both Japanese and Western novels.

Why do you like tentacles, elf, and dark skin?

I guess l find them very appealing and honestly more engaging to watch than most common tags you see. Definitely for elf and dark skin, their designs and portrayals as characters at definitely up there (like looks, and features just triumph over generic character designs these days). Maybe it the ones that l have watched where l really enjoy them.

Tentacle-wise, think its more of a personal kink if l had to say haha. Its not aggressive like beastality, but at the same time, its very stimulating when watching certain scenes

Have you watched any of these tags, or not really a fan of them?

Go for it! Later on several cool characters start showing up, one of them being the metallic parasite Telomere, his interactions with Bolt are awesome lol

Yeah, I love the first anime precisely because it doesn't hold back at all, it's kinda rare to find something with so much creative freedom. It was decided from the start that it would be something completely different from the manga, and yet they still managed to keep a certain fidelity to the source material. It's fair to say that the manga was actually somewhat inspired by the first anime in some of its crazy concepts.

Oh, I really need to watch the Burn Up franchise, it's been on my to-do list for a while now, but I always end up prioritizing something else lol

I love Eat-Man and I have both the manga and DVD collections! From what I've seen, the manga scanlation isn't good... it starts with a mirrored version, scanned and translated from the italian editions if I'm not mistaken, then they got the chinese version, which still has a mediocre quality, but maintains the original reading style. And whoever translated it, for some reason, liked to mix japanese and english words, it turned out funny lol The manga is awesome, it's a shame it's so unknown that there isn't good scans for it...

Both anime are great, and I especially like the first one with its enigmatic/nonsensical themes.

Hmm... sorry, I have no idea who she could be. But it seems to be something from the early 2000s lol

It's definitely a gulity pleasure. Just don't watch the Art of Fighting one lol.

For mecha VNs I would say Full Demon Muramasa, Baldr Sky, and Muv Luv to start off. Here's more that are worth a look as well:

Funbag Fantasy (even though the main selling point for this is the sex, but the MC and the comedy just makes it more enjoyable to play through IMO)

Bad reputation? I'm surprised he even has one. One of his works I watched for the first time was the Fatal Fury OVAs. I thought it was good for what he could do for a fighting game. Plus I was biased for being a huge SNK fan lol. Even though Punish was mediocre you gotta admit he goes hard (pun intended) on the designs!

I just checked and it actually was from the developer Elf lol. Does the game have an English patch? I'm actually curious on what other VNs you've played?

What you thought about the Seed movie? I was thinking about seeing it but it always slips my mind and I end up forgetting. :D
