I see that you are rewatching FLCL , for me rewatching FLCL made it
became one of my top 5 favourite anime, how is the rewatch going so far?

Apart from that, I think I have a live-action film to recommend, The seventh seal directed and written by Ingmar Bergman ,
if you don't mind black and white, is an excellent commentary on death, with stellar cinematography and a great script.

This response is probably coming in late, so excuse my absence from the site.
If you want my honest opinion, there really aren't many anime shows that actually care about exploring philosophical concepts, let alone differentiate movements. I guess fans enjoy labeling their favorite series as "philosophical" because it feels like it adds imaginary merit to the work, when in reality they just tackle subjects that exceed the ones of your usual TV show. This might seem like a controversial opinion, but if you seriously want to see art's relationship with philosophy, I think other, older, more mature mediums will much more suit your taste. Mostly because the mediums themselves matured from sculpting themselves to suit the audience into actually serving as a way of expressing ideas.
Now I'm not particularly a huge nerd for literature so I guess recommending books as a medium would be pretentious of me, even though it's probably the best way to go. I think painting/sculpting and music care the most about philosophy, as they lived and developed hand in hand.
I'm currently obsessed with film which, albeit new as a medium, has a LOT of pieces well worth your time.

You're studying Chemistry? well, I thought that was one of the hardest subjects I've done in highschool even though I found it quite interesting, so ofcourse I made sure to completley avoid it when choosing a college course, since I knew that even if it wasn't all THAT difficult in highschool, it would only get worse in college.

It's not often I find avid rewatchers, most on the forums don't seem to consider it. I often have more fun experiencing the story a second or third time, especially now that I can watch all of my old favorites in full HD. My latest joys have been discovering all these Blu-ray remasters that have been released in the past few years.

I definitely have a preference for action. Doesn't matter how crummy, if it has decent action I'm probably watching it.

Looks like you loved kino no tabi , maybe you are interested in watching the special and the movie, I've watched it around april or may this year, and it is in my top 20 favourite anime.
