Not only are they both very well done CGI, but they have very similar plot and overall feel to them.
They both have MC trying to go against the gods, resulting in epic battle scenes that get better and better each time.
You see good growth of MC in a personal way as well, much more so for Wu Geng, but in both series the MC finds their humanity in a way. Wu Geng was basically a spoiled rich kid who then has to start from the bottom up and really learns to respect people's lives and stand up for what's ethically right. In Xi Xing
