They both give off the same "vibe" to me.
They both include a loud outcastey MC with a tragic backstory, with strong powers that can potentially be shunned by society to a fatal degree. The stories focus on them honing those abilities and lots of fighting.
(Since Tougen is still ongoing, this recommendation is considering only the first 8 episodes of the anime, I might edit this later)
