Fruits Basket and Kaoru Hana are similar in that they’re both shoujo, school-life romance anime. In both, the main female character is timid, soft-spoken, pure-hearted, and very positive. She sees only the good in people and refuses to believe rumors. One of the male characters who falls for her has a delinquent-like appearance that makes others scared of him, but she alone understands his true, gentle personality. He’s drawn to her innocence. The series makes you feel bubbly and warm.
