You can tell that both of these shows were written by someone with an education and interest in science. They both explore their respective fantasy settings through the lens of someone who wants to understand how things work rather than simply giving them unexplained powers. Very similar vibes, and both unfortunately short (I don't expect a second season of either, so great if you like reading manga or light novels).
