Bio-horror in Japan from the pov of a duo of doctors/detectives.

Both are stories that deal with the outbreak of a dangerous virus in Japan.
Both are about dealing with an outbreak of disease in Japan. Manhole has a darker tone to it.

A dangerous infection starts spreading, and the protagonists have to track down the source to combat it.
I read Emerging shortly after reading Manhole and they are both fantastic pandemic horrors. Manhole focuses more on the evil deed itself whilst Emerging focuses on the horror of the medical and science workers. Both provided me with excellent slightly unnerving horror, whilst being cathartic of recent years whilst also reminsicing those years of fear, horror, isolation and loss. Brilliantly done, brilliantly made and a great duo to read together.
