Synopsis

In the age of space colonization, different corporations eagerly claim planets for their own. One such corporation, Syncam, sponsors a crew of seasoned shipmen and fresh-faced recruits to remain in stasis for 20 years until they reach their destination. When they wake, however, they receive a message that two crew members are criminals using assumed identities. Now forced to investigate one another, crew members begin disappearing and dying in strange ways. As their numbers continue to dwindle, the remaining crew is forced to wonder just who—or what—is on their ship.

I found the artwork of Lily C.A.T perfect for it's icy and desolate feel of deep space, where the danger exists both inside as well as outside. In many ways, I can't help but compare it to movies like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Alien as they all explore terrifying deep space environments where people are helpless against something bigger, whether it be an unidentified intelligence, a machine, or an extraterrestrial organism.

Though the plot of Lily C.A.T. seemed kind of predictable for me, especially because I've already experienced the layered storytelling of Space Odyssey. It shouldn't be much predictable if you haven't watched the mentioned ...

Mixed Feelings
Good premise but not well executed

This anime was heavily inspired by The 70s movie Alien and The 1982 version of the Thing. Which should make it an awesome anime as those movies are really great. Sadly It misses the mark. While it borrows those cool ideas and even art style. Its heavily lacking in what makes those movies good.

The anime does well in its pacing and quickly sets things up and gets going. Its only a little over an hour long so it moves pretty swiftly. To swiftly in fact. We dont get much for alien interaction or even much horror or ...

You remember the late 80s-early 90s era of anime- it was first catching hold over here in the States, and they were putting everything they could get the rights to on tape and sold for $30 a shot. This, well... is one of those titles that should have been skipped.

It's just... terrible bad. You can tell it's early anime- the voicework is crap, the animation isn't really worth anything, and the music just seems to fade in and out.

It's pretty much just your bog-standard space-monster story- alien bacteria infiltrate a colony ship and end up eating 90% of the crew, starting with a pet ...
