Jujutsu Kaisen: Shimetsu Kaiyuu - Zenpen

Kenjaku, the one known as Noritoshi Kamo and most recently as Suguru Getou, has initiated the next step in his destructive, thousand-year plan of ordinary humans' evolution and eventual eradication. The jujutsu world higher-ups reinstate 15-year-old Yuuji Itadori's execution, as Satoru Gojou is incapacitated as a result of Kenjaku's master plan in Shibuya. While Yuuji is unaware of this, he patrols the abandoned Tokyo streets with Chousou, exterminating any and all cursed spirits in his way.

Meanwhile, the bigoted and arrogant Naoya Zenin's pride takes a hit when Megumi Fushiguro is selected as the Zenin Clan's next head. To draw out Megumi and eliminate him, he goes after Yuuji—but Yuuta Okkotsu is set on being Yuuji's executioner. Kenjaku's "Culling Game"—a rigorous battle royale spanning throughout Japan and forcing the jujutsu competitors to kill each other—is set in motion, and the young jujutsu sorcerers join the fray to settle old scores, free Gojou, and liberate the jujutsu world from the threat that is Kenjaku.

I WANT SOMEONE TO LOVE ME AS MUCH AS MAPPA LOVES JJK
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DO NOT FORGET WHO GOT YOU TO THE TOP

MAPPA's star child Jujutsu Kaisen brought the studio to where it is now and now we are quite literally witnessing; might I say more than perfect adaptation of a well enough source material. The Culling Arc was one of my least fave part of JJK in manga but with 3 episodes in i might actually enjoy this way more than I enjoyed any other seasons, it is so insanely well done. If they are quite literally glazing characters that ... no sane person likes (NAOYA IM TALKING ABOUT YOU) and animate the not so important fight sequences with this much passion, i fear I am going to pass out with upcoming fights.

Every character looks really good, the visuals are giving that dark eerie vibes and the VOICE ACTING? MWAH MWAH MWAH ~
JJK is a character heavy story and when you actually put effort in making the characters come to life, this is what happens!!!
i don't believe they would fuck anything up furthermore albeit my very early review but I cannot wait to witness what's about to come

everytime JJK airs, the anime community feels more lively and i sure am overdosing myself with all these amazing edits these fans make!!

Mixed Feelings

Preliminary (4/12 eps)

Writing this review exclusively to warn anime-only's. The second part of chapter 4 is the heaviest case of atmosphere and tone misinterpretation that I've seen from a director in my life. Fucking horrendous. Whoever directed that part must not be allowed to work on anything that requires a single second of thinking about the feelings of the character.

My must-do recommendation for anime-onlys is watch just until the half time cut and read the rest of perfect preparation in the manga so as not get misled by abismal directing. Apart from this, absolutely spectacular season.

"But it's a reference to Kill-Bill!!!" retarded take. so what? ... reference=good? in what world does a reference to kill bill make fucking sense here? As a maki diehard fan I got absolutely giga baited by the first half (kino), and got my day ruined in the second.

I didn't think JJK would outdo themselves from the "you're my specialz" yuji post-sukuna moment, but holy shit it could get much worse.

Culling Game is straight up abysmal dogshit and I’m tired of pretending it’s some misunderstood masterpiece. This arc feels like Gege forgot he was writing a story and just started throwing ideas at the wall to see what sticks. The fights look cool, yeah, but cool doesn’t mean good. The pacing is miserable. It’s not slow, it’s not fast, it’s just constantly annoying. The show rushes past things that should matter and then stops dead to explain rules nobody wants to hear. Also goshozono's abysmal direction is really star of this shit show, mf uses abrupt cut offs from important scenes in coming off as ... very deep and meaningful directing but instead it just breaks the flow. Genuinely one of the most exhausting arcs I’ve watched. Cool ideas wasted by awful execution. Absolute mess.
