IS: Infinite Stratos

An exoskeleton weapon engineered by Japan, Infinite Stratos (IS) can be piloted only by women. Its power and combat prowess are so immense that an international treaty has been signed banning its use as a military asset.

When it is discovered that 15-year-old Ichika Orimura is the only male capable of steering an IS, he is forcibly enrolled in the Infinite Stratos Academy: an all-female boarding school, the students of which graduate to become IS pilots. At this training school, Ichika is reunited with two of his childhood friends, Houki Shinonono and Lingyin Huang, and befriends Cecilia Alcott, an IS representative from the United Kingdom.

Guided by the legendary pilot Chifuyu Orimura—their strict homeroom teacher and Ichika's older sister—Ichika and the girls will need to use everything at their disposal to defend themselves and their academy against the dangers that will arise during the course of their thrilling school life.

Infinite Stratos is very dear to me. This was one of my earliest animes I ever saw. The IS suits are fantastic, basically humanoid body armor that gives the person a unique power set depending on either potential. That really cool. The OST soundtrack for this is great and the animation/fights are well choreographed. The characters are all fun and very well designed. The dub is my personal favorite, not only is the MC played by the King of Harem Scott Freeman who has been in everything from Highschool DxD to Date A Live. But the main heroin is voiced by my favorite VA Monica ... Rial. Its also a nice touch that the girls from France, England, and German all have accents. I highly recommend this series place go and check it out

Mixed Feelings

Somehow, I find this anime to be at least watchable. To be honest with you, I returned to this anime just because I watched it when I was still a young teenager. It didn't strike me as anything special or groundbreaking, I just wanted to finish what I started. Season 1, this one exactly, I remember about 85% of it and I still retain the same feelings about it. It's just slightly above average but even then it can still be foul at times.

The plot and action are some of the more offensive things about this. It's dull and even frustrating at times. The concept ... of fighting aerodynamic robots is also difficult enough but having it as just a medium for them to push the plot is merely lazy. Most of what you view is the character dynamics and additions to the harem which do carry the anime in terms of enjoyability. The harem girls are pretty fun to watch when dealing with Ichika, most especially Houki and Charlotte. Other than that, this anime overall is just fine at what it provides.

Honestly I really liked the idea of the story but all the girls were REALLY and I mean REALLY annoying the "love conflicts" voices make me want to scream into a pillow and throw my computer against a wall, and their always getting on the mc's ass about them being better than him and about how he's not doing things right and that's the entire show. I would like to say that was just the beginning of the anime but it was the entire 12 episodes this was probably one of the worst animes I have watched in a LONG while.
