That was awesome, I just love the look that Leon is giving. And tbh, I was expecting this fight so it didn't disappoint that they are serious about it.

The fight last longer than I had thought tbh and got more intense than I had expected. Interesting to see some of Leon's past though with his dad. Is it just me or does his father look almost exactly the same as now?

Sacrifice the few to save the many
German, what happens when the next calamity comes and you have to resort to that method?

The fights were great, both sides giving it their all. The near misses that they had without wearing their armour.

A father and son's relationship. It was really great to actually see it. The two would always fight and yell at each other, but at the end of the day, they would be smiling and hugging.

Sacrificing for the greater good. To not overlook a single person's life, Leon has really learned well! The slow motion were done really well.

The horror Anima :/ What happens when Mendoza becomes immortal, it almost make it seems nothing but a temporary solution to side with Mendoza.

I would've like to see Leon succeeding in stopping the plan and something managing to defeat the hordes of horror coming, but to think rationally about the knight's strength, still, it would be fun.

It was clever for them to intercut the fight between Leon and German with flashbacks showing their relationship, and the fight itself was quite nice too, but not as nice as the Leon Vs Alfonso fight a few episodes back. It was also interesting that the sword that features prominently in the second season's key visual appeared briefly as well.

I'm eager to see how they're going to deal with Mendoza this time and how they'll be able to stop Anima from wreaking havoc.

Oh, so now we know why the watchdog center want's to protect Mendoza, he's to resurrect a demon that will consume all horrors, in exchange for the old man's immortality.

Nice fight, although I would have liked to see more of Leon using his father's blades, too bad they change their weapons back pretty fast.

I am pretty aware is not likely and quite impossible, but somehow if there is a way for someone to become immortal, why can't they bring Lara back to life

I am kinda questioning why Leon jumped to such rash actions. I mean... if he defeated German, then what? Kill Mendoza and doom the world? It seemed more like a contrived way to make Leon fight German... Oh well, at least it leads to an alright fight.

I rather liked the backdrop to show the relationship Leon had with his father as a child and I like that his actions caused German to get hurt to hit home the message... though I question why German didn't just wear the armor from the beginning... does it strain their body? Hasn't really been explained... If he had the armor, he likely would'n't have been wounded. Still, it's nice to see that Leon didn't hate his father all the time and they did actually bond a lot and it even gave a more clear insight into German's mentality, drinking and having sex to help forget his duty that he is bound to.

Sooo... Mendoza isn't saving the world because he's a nice guy or anything... he's just in it for the power. I like that. lol

Decent episode.

That fight looked so damn cool.
German had some strange animations before he put on his armor though.
I LOVE WHEN THE HELMETS OPEN THEIR JAWS. I just looks so damn cool.

Things are getting intense. and this wont even be the end. Theres a second season AND a movie in the works.

Though.... why did they not begin to evacuate the city? They had an entire day to get people the HELL OUT OF THERE.

I think herman isnt planning to follow the watchdog's plan, the flashback was to show that sacrificing even one person isnt something he wants to do

Decent episode. Looks like the main battle will begin soon. I'm sure there'll be a huge cliffhanger by the end of this season.
Im just going to guess how this will go, i think herman will die doing some magnificent heroic sacrifice to seemingly stop mendoza's plan with leon ema and alfonso saving valiante, but it'll turn out that mendoza's plan isnt a compelte failure and gains some sort of power from it(it'd be cool if hypothetically he gains immortality and reverts to a young able mendoza for the rest of the show)

I think this episode kind of redeemed Herman's lack of fatherliness that people kept complaining about. It's sad how they put their mission before their lives, but it seems that that had been the tradition passed down the paths of Makai Knights throughout the decades. The huge Horror at the end reminds me of the Medium in Magi for some reason. lo.

We got a great background story of Herman and Leon. It's cool to know more about the Makai Knights and their duties.
"Even if one of us falls, someone will take up our armor and continue to fight." What a great quote from Herman.
That battle between father and son was awesome. I didn't actually expect that to be serious than just a plain spar.
Mendoza is as evil as always. Taking advantage of that huge Horror underground when it revives.

Herman despite his deviant sexual nature, is very serious when it comes to being a Makai Knight and understands his duties very well and is good at his job. After all he trained and raised Garo, who is supposed to be acknowledged the strongest of all Makai Knights.

I can't believe in a subtle way, he gets under Leon's skin that he can't protect anyone (since he didn't know that he couldn't protect Lara while they were separated). I like this comapred to the tokusatsu series because in the other series', the father is either dead or in the case of Ryuga in Yami wo Terasu Mono, he never knew his father.

When Leon is fighting, he is still dictated by his emotions to some degree (but not as bad as when he went "lost soul" mode) and I think that is why he hasn't surpassed his father yet.

I like how the series expands the mythos of Garo in its own distinct way and also stays true to it.

Was hoping Leon would wipe the floor with German but it was the opposite. German is still a bad ass, even if he is a "shitty father".

The flashback scene was very powerful, I think that was the highlight of the episode for me besides the glorious action scenes and reveals.

I still don't get why the Watchdog Center (Garm) has assigned Herman to protect Mendoza. Sacrificing few to save many doesn't really make sense when the failure to defeat the Anima Horror can mean Mendoza achieving immortality. And he seems quite confident that it can't be defeated. So, what's the point? Why take such a huge risk?
Mendoza thinks they don't know it cannot be killed. Don't know if Mendoza is right. But if it can't be killed, then taking its power and making him immortal would be better than it running free in the world, I suppose??

Why don't they evacuate the citizens? It might be hard for them to build their life again but at least they won't die.. And since it seems they can't stop the horror now..

I am questioning the same. Alfonso could arrange it easily. It sure beats getting eaten by horrors.

Also, the reasoning doesn´t make much sense. Unless Garm has something hidden to defeat Anima. Mendoza is pretty confident that it cannot be beaten and that he could achieve immortality.

That said, the fight was absolutely awesome. Tension, movements, inner thoughts of doubt and build up of conviction, ultra badass.

There is a second season, so I expect this one to end on cliffhanger.

Are people at the Watchdog Center retarded or something? Did they seriously not think that Mendooooza would not create a counterplan to their obvious af strategy?

LET'S JUST LET MENDOOOOZA GO AFTER KILLING COUNTLESS PEOPLE UNPUNISHED ALONG WITH ASSIGNING A MAKAI KNIGHT TO GUARD HIM AT ALL TIMES, K GUISE? HE WON'T NOTICE ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS ~

Hmm, idk it feels like they run otu of budget now. Atleast compared to the last few episodes, this was rather a dissapointment animation wise, using mostly impact frames compared to the very fluid battle choregraphy of the last fee episodes especially the fight between Leon and Alfonso, which was just awesome. It could be an artistic choice with the flashbacks in between tough, in order to shift the attention of the viewer from the battle to the actual flashbacks.

I cant put my finger on it, but this episodes just felt weaker compared to the others before. That said, the few episodes before really where absolutely amazing.

I do not buy the watchdog center working with Mendoza plot twist. It does not feel like a continuation of the Mendoza trying to get revenge on the Makai Knights & Alchemists. Yes, it's still about Mendoza being a bad guy, but at least try to make it more like a continuation. This is like a whole another arc entirely. Many things that we did not even know & have a clue about revealed out of nowhere. I do not know . . . And of course, I still do not understand where did the watchdog center get the idea to work with Mendoza after what he has done. He's already banished, right? So, why? They better give us a lot of explanation in the next few episodes.
I like anime.

Maybe it doesn't fit in plot. I mean he have buried her and have slept with another woman already. And the Lara scene were heartbreaking enough for us all, especially for Leon. It would just be weird to have her back. Weird and awkward if ya ask me.

So, the Watchdogs and Zero's thought process was, "yeah, let's trust this evil madman's plan. He's definitely not up to something even more sinister. Definitely. Let's not even check." Sounds totally legit.

Is that a good thing or not? Because a demon that consumes all horrors will do all the job instead of Makai Knights...but the Makai Knight would not have horrors killing jobs anymore...

The mystery behind the choice of Herman defend Mendoza, located quickly and too easily his answer, I would have wished that he had understood the truth much later, just to give ulteriote suspense, oh well!
Not bad the plot that prepares us for the final battle, interesting but nothing so original.
Drawings with ups and downs, and CG animations better than drawings.
I hope that the final battle hard the remaining three episodes.

Wow no one is watching this show as appose to the ridiculous amount in fate polls

This may be a awkward beginning to the episode, I'm so confused to why German out of anyone would decide on the sacrifice of a minority to save a majority (I just remembered the final scene of fate zero for a second). Rationally I thought maybe he is testing leon but that is just lame, no way it could be a set up. I'm actually glad that leon lost, this made me releived that the show have not burned out yet. Um so what is that angel doing in garo.

That flashback was so beautiful that it help me reconcile the love back again
