| the anime is getting more interesting by the minute! at the first few episodes at the start, I wasn't as hooked and it seemed pretty meh to me, although it's getting better, and becoming a lot more interesting :)  |

| Well, action episode.. First one I didn't like, really.. But there are shows with couple of episodes which were meh and I still liked a lot.. So it's alright.. Will see, what's next.. |

| That was a nice beam attack though Reg has second thoughts about it saved their life, those birds imitating humans to lure more prey in is really effective though. |
| This episode was alright but felt a bit stagnant for me, I don't mind the pacing going slower but the stuff that happens feel too padded out and dragged out compared to the pacing feeling natural, but now that Ozen's here, the whole flow of the story should fix itself back in shape now that some important events are happening again beyond the world building in the past couple episodes. Will admit though, I feel like Riko and Reg went on their adventure too fast since they feel too underprepared at random times, given how they were travelling with the intention of going down to the bottom of the abyss and travelling back up eventually. Sure, the chances are really low but I do feel like they needed a lot more stuff to actually adapt properly to the environments that they would need to undergo, with so many challenges there. Hell, a part of me even felt like while Riko felt a bit chilly, given how you're travelling downwards in the Abyss itself, I expected the temperature drop to be a lot more drastic already than it's been a few layers down in my opinion (and Riko should have carried a lot more clothing, particularly thicker clothing in case). Would have liked more of an elaboration of the Abyss and how exactly temperature drops work (and what amount of drop happens) as you descend further and further down. |

| Reg has some mad powers. This inverted forest is so cool, the creatures are creative and the soundtrack blends in with the show so well. Well, Ozen seems terrifying. |
| They made it to the seeker camp, and that observer or whatever felt like a bad news. Also fuck those man eating creatures in the beginning, good thing Reg blasted them through and through. |

| Oh boy... Poor Riko was this close to being eaten alive by those birds if not for Regu's sake. And, the adventure seems to be going fine for now. Though, there are many difficulties in their way. |

| Good anime so far. It distinguishes itself immediately from the average anime slop via its coherence in all elements. The potential is there for great storytelling but it feels like it hasn't been explored or reached yet. Only traces of greatness appear here and there. |
| I'm doing a rewatch right now and something that I am noticing now that I didn't pay too much attention to on my first watch (which was years ago) is that the background art is just spectacular! Every background frame feels like it's own unique art piece and it really goes to show how much passion and care was given by the staff working on this anime in order to bring as much life as possible into the vibrant and fascinating world of the Abyss! |
