Do you prefer to watch anime in one go or to watch new episodes every week?

I am kinda torn apart by this question. Most of the time I am so excited and curious about a show that I would like to binge watch it in a couple of days. But sometimes I like the idea to have something during the week I can look forward to.

The only thing is that for me the immersion gets a bit lost, when I have to stop after one or two epsiodes, because it initially takes me some time to recall what happend and when it ends it mostly ends with a cliffhanger.

I am curious to know if some of you are sharing a similar experience? What do you prefer?

I don't have the patience to wait until a show's finished airing, so I usually watch it weekly...unless it's a show I haven't watched yet.

I definitely prefer to watch new episodes every week. This is, because I have studies and work so I cannot just watch anime hours on end. I also have a lot of other media to consume besides anime, so I need to reserve time for video games and books.

However, I will watch anime in one go if I am on a winter or summer break, due to having a more free schedule and less responsibilities.

It's not only you my friend. Sometimes i also doing a same like you. I always trying to save a best from a last. I watch anime tokyo revengers and the cliffhanger just give me frustation. I am a binge watcher btw but sometimes i watch weekly to. So i bought manga and read whole manga before anime. My experience is also little bit same like you.

Honestly, I'm a bit halfway there.
I like the idea of having something to watch during the week, at the same time it helps me to disconnect from the hectic life of work or study...
But, sometimes, when I'm so curious and I start to feel that I might go crazy at the mere idea of having to wait whole weeks and breaks, I stop (which is perhaps even worse) and start again when the anime is finished.

I like to keep a mix of both to get the best of both worlds. A handful of seasonals that I can look forward to weekly (and be up to date with discussions/avoid spoilers), while watching an older show or two that I can binge whenever I have the mood for it.

It depends.

Series with a complex storyline and/or cast of characters are best watched in a shorter period of time or at least in batches of episodes (arcs).

Comedy, Slice of Life, CGDCT & Iyashikei are better watched weekly as they provide doses of positive energy/feelz. And in some cases watching too many eps at once can make them feel repetitive.

As far as cliffhangers, I find that they actually help me remember story details better.

And sometimes I wait for a series/season to end & binge it to save money (subscribe to fewer streaming services at the same time)

If I watched it all at once I will probably not finish since I don't have the attention span if it gets boring however if I watch it one by one and it is boring at one point I can still stand one episode and I am not patient enough to wait for all the episodes to air before watching

If I get curious what is on the next episode and I am very in the anime then I will read the manga

It really depends on the series; if the series has a good hook than I can easily binge a show in one go.

However if the series is episodic and a slow-burn, than I prefer to watch weekly or once every few days. This way I won't get bored or tempted to drop a series which not going to lie, I have almost dropped quite a few series recently due to this issue.

I know it's wrong, but if im watching a trash anime. I love to just finish it in one go. If its a 10/10 i can wait weeks/months between episodes.

Thats whats happend when u watch weekly, n moreover u watch more than one anime at a time..
That also happend to me in the past..

As for me today, I watch an anime in one go or two..
A new method that I used is watching from utube that already has all episode (end 12ep N has ±4 hours of duration)..

I also like to download an anime, which I can watch whenever N wherever I want..

I am not the type who loves to wait weekly just to wait N watch one episode 😑 N then wait again..

To unlock this, I think u need to have alot of collection on your Plan To Watch list first.. After that choose as u like which to watch based on your mood..

U can also try the healthier way, just watch an anime 3-6 episode a day..
One season (12ep) on one go isn't seems healthy..

@Crimsonkunai45 @Ohayotaku
Agree with this, it is also depends on the anime..
