| @MeherabHB The idea is that even though Takopi has erased himself from existence residual memories of the 1 thing it actually did for both girls remains which was provide companionship through the hard times even though none of the things it really tried with the tools worked. The reason Marina stopped bullying was that subconscious memory leftover from her time with takopi stopped her in that moment and provided a single lifeline with Shizuka that allowed them to actually connect on their shared trauma/abuse rather than take it out on eachother. Ultimately both girls are what fixed their relationship takopi just broke the ice. Call it convenient (It involved the main character essentially dying so not really) but thats the general jist of it, the time Takopi spent with both girls in the different futures was not all to waste even if they will never truly remember him. This is working on AI the somnium/999 Kotaro Uchikoshi rules of different timelines affecting others across dimensions, take it or leave it if that breaks the logic of the time traveling octopus show. |

| If we go by the first timeline where Takopi was with Marina, we can see that Shizuka and Marina managed to get into high school, so they survived both, and Azuma too. The only differences between that timeline and the last timeline is that they're friends and that Shizuka didn't go full psycho because of the friendship (and the bullying stopping) with Marina. So the friendship is the only major thing that doesn't really have a satisfying answer, which it's a bummer IMO, considering that the rest of the story was so grounded in reality and believable (excluding the magic obviously). The author preferred to gut punch us more that making the whole ending make 100% sense. The thing with residual memories would've made more sense if we got an example or some hints in the prior episodes, but I don't really remember any case in which a character had any lingering memories from previous timelines. This could've been a possible solution to explain better the ending to the audience. |

| @itsrj20 takopii said the camera was broken so it definitely would be a plot hole if he just used himself as energy, but there's really no justifying magic or even scifi with this level of technology that is on the level of magic, you can't justify magic so my interpretation is, takopii morph himself into that gadget and used himself as energy, we've seen takopii morph to an extent even without that specific morph gadget, like extending limbs, extracting and contracting etc. also as for takopii status, it's kinda an open to interpretation, they seem to have no concept of death that's why they don't even know what "kill" means, so depends on you I guess, but my interpretation is he just lost his body which is just data, im assuming his consciousness just went back to his planet, I don't think he's not allowed to go back, the rules seems to have something to do with not coming back "alone" which is happy memories I guess which he now has, god damn I'm a genius |
