So far ist very cool to see the passion all that girls have for their cosplay hobby. It was so nice that Myako and Suzuka where able to convine Sajuna to do her cosplay. On the other hand, Akira was finally able to do some props and while doing that, he learned something about her backround story. It was so sweet how she, Myako and Suzuka came together at a moemnt where she wanted to have some lucky time with something she loved. These three girls a so far agreat selection and fit so well together. It is also very heartwarming to see how Shinju cheers on her sister and is so happy when she does a cosplay. When Marin entered the scene, it all got so much funnier. The fotosession was so funny and seeing the three girls taking pictures from below made me burst out laughing. Afterwards, it was also very nice to see how Suzuka and Miyako talked about their cosplay hobby and discussed how they where able to continue it despite growing older. When Marin learned that Akira may not like her, she ended up laughing, which was a little strange (but fitting) reaction..

Well this episode was quite interesting in how the attention was split between the pair of Wakana and Akira Okuta (or Okuta Akira, I don’t know which part is her last name) making props for the Coffin cosplay, and the group of Marin, Shinju, Sajuna, Miyako, and Suzuka doing the Black Lobelia cosplay.

One thing that’s touched in this episode that I like is the idea of doing whatever you’re passionate about despite how most might see it as childish or immature. Akira loves anime and manga and now she does cosplays and makes props for them and does what she wants, thanks to meeting Suzuka and Miyako. Because of Marin, Wakana can be proud of continuing his passion of making Hina dolls along with making various things for cosplay, and both he and Akira connect because of that.

Also it seems that Sajuna is insecure about her height, which is why she didn’t want to do the Black Lobelia cosplay, but given Miyako’s decade of experience, she was able to talk about how most people don’t look like a one to one image of whatever character they’re cosplaying and there are things about us that we can’t change. So maybe Sajuna can enjoy doing cosplays more and just express her passions, especially since her family and friends are supportive of what she does anyway.

I’m assuming that the next episode will finish the Coffin cosplay and Marin will express her feelings to Wakana.

I do like how Marin immediately figured out that Akira doesn’t like her and that doesn’t bother her. So I wonder how that will play out with this cosplay. Will Marin and Akira do their shots separately, or will Akira simply suck it up?

If betrothed to my sister’s ex weren’t airing, I’d give Akira parents the worst parents of the season award. Absolute fucking idiots. Why would you have your daughter throw away manga she, and by extension likely you, have spent money on already? Even if you didn’t want her to read them getting rid of em is stupid lmao. Not wanting her to watch anime.. as a teenager in Japan? At the peak of cardcaptor Sakura? That’s how you end up dying alone in a hospice center because your kids hate you.

Glad Akira found a place where she belongs and people who accept her for her. We got to see Juju fully become apart of the group too thanks to Miyako’s cosplay transformation! The way Juju’s sister hypes her up is soo cute and you can’t blame her because Juju’s cosplay was stunning. Like the older girls said, who cares if you don’t have the body type of the character. Characters represent ideals, not just physical appearances and you can be whatever you wanna be.

“Your whole existence is fanservice” lmaoo Marin and the other girls just having a fangasm over Juju’s cosplay is so cute. I love how much of nerds they are

“You don’t have to worry about a damn thing to continue your hobbies” and therein lies the message of Kisekoi. Be yourself, do the things you like to do because life’s too short to wait. Growing up doesn’t mean you leave your hobbies alone, it means you have more money to spend on them! I was at Gundam base USA tour yesterday and the line was literally all dudes 35-40+ lol. In line to buy plastic toys. You’re never too old to do the things you love.

100% how I felt about it. If you don't like it in the first place then why let her buy and read and watch it?

If he was a real life person, I wouldn't mind if Gojo would have diagnosed with laryngeal cancer (vocal cords cancer) and struck with necrotizing fasciitis (flesh-eating bacteria) in his hands. The cancer, so he'd never speak his mind ever again and the bacteria so he won't create his dolls no more nor clothes for cosplayers.

It's a quite a fit for the writers to write such and idiotic character such as Gojo. Always starting with an "huh" when ever reacting or replying after being spoken to, as though everything surprises him. How can you write a second season for a show and make sure one of your two MCs never grow up, is beyond me.

Let's all wish the writers (and the director) of the anime to change occupations so never again will be struck with this kind of low-level creativity. No ingenuity in any field - not the animation, not in the drawing, not in the plot (in narratives, conflicts, resolutions, and progress). The only excellent - not good, but excellent - is the voice acting. It's such a shame for excellent VAs to be handed such shitty scripts that provide nothing new in to the art. Even the "humor" of the show is not funny. There's no characters development and growth.

The anime is a waste of talent of animators/

Everyone is getting ready for the upcoming 'Coffin' horror game group cosplay. There is a surprise in store for Juju. We have some sad backstory of Akira's past. She still loves anime and manga despite it all. So a silver lining there.

Akira and Gojo work together in making props for the group cosplay. Juju reveals how she is giving up on cosplay but after meeting Miyako, she realizes that it's okay to continue this as an adult. Marin thinks Akira dislikes her but she is okay with that.

Damn, the dub gave us a "How do you do fellow kids" reference. I appreciate the fun talk about adult life, though those two are too optimistic if they say adult life is the best. I'll agree that having money to spend leads to more opportunities, but everyone I know prefers their childhood.

We still don’t know why Akira doesn’t want to be around Marin, and as expected, she noticed it too. I don’t think it’s anything too serious since Gojo didn’t seem bothered after talking to Akira, but we’ll see.
I didn’t expect to see Juju-sama cosplaying as Black Lobelia, and as expected, there’s nothing that doesn’t suit her she absolutely nailed it. Also, Miyako really showed what ten years of cosplay makeup experience can do; I’d even say she might be better than Gojo.

While I didn't necessarily mind having a backstory on Akira I didn't like that Gojo's and Marin's relationship has taken a backseat to more side characters. Also, I think that Akira most likely doesn't hate Marin, rather she's either jealous that Marin can be herself and didn't have restrictive parents or she admires Marin so much that she doesn't know how to react/talk around her, but we'll see.

Side note, I would like to see a confession from Marin after how the last episode ended but I won't hold my breath.

"screw you" was my instant reaction to Akira's mother wanting her to drop her passions.

Damn, i agree about going beyond those limitations about cosplayer whoever she wanted, even if my attempts have still always been poor. Miyako is so understandable when she described her own cosplay experience for better or worse. Also, those photos tricks to hide height difference were clever and i should have put them in practice before.

"wait, what? There are older cosplayers too?"

"i know a 40-something woman cosplaying as idol anime characters" Yeah, exploded with laughing at this part, since i have almost the same age, i'm a dude, and began doing the exact same thing at 33.

Oh no, that topic got suddenly resurrected and by the exact same person / party that is disliked for unspecified reasons. It's a shame the episode abruptly ended with this, but the rest of it was, as usual, amazing. Too bad it is almost over with this second season, it must have a unrealistically bad final episode to lose the comparison with the first one after having improved in basically everything.

The cosplay thing in Japan is intense. What a world! It's really serious.
Where I live, it's so uncommon for people to work passionately at it that those who do end up becoming popular.
It's unusual to see detailed, meticulous and complex cosplays in the manga-anime events I visit.
Well. I find it admirable, although I won't deny that it can also be superficial.
And, Akira's mom... How toxic. It's best to keep her away.
