Why most people are cry watching episode 1? Am I heartless? I don't cry at all but I can understand the problems. Or are people who cries feels like it's so relate for them?

Crying is a way to react. How you react to things, especially in media, doesn't define your core values.
"All truth is meaningless. In the end, 'meaning' comes from the mind of each individual human. Even when there is a single truth, it can mean different things to different individuals. The truth has no meaning in itself!" - Erika Furudo

You aren't, it's normal to not cry or even be sad over anything "sad" in fiction. Honestly, the fact that you have to ask this is the weird thing here.

I found it uncomfortable rather than emotional. Although a few scenes moved me, just not nearly enough for tears.

Yes, you definitely need to cry over contrived drama, otherwise you are a sociopath.

I didn't cry when I first watched episode 1-6. Idk if that's a me-problem, but I need to build that kind of connection to the characters first. But the end was probably the most I've ever cried while watching a show.
But during my second and third rewatch, I've cried like the entire time

No, the one mistake the author made was in his head. I nearly had a good laugh with that almost a joker of a creator. Emotional damaaaaaaaage

I’m a guy who cries A LOT. Like, A LOT. Obviously not openly, only when I’m by myself. Almost any piece of media can make me cry — whether that be out of sadness, despair, adoration, happiness, or whatever other emotions can make you cry. I think of myself as someone very empathetic.
So it came off as a huge surprise when I could barely cry watching Takopi’s Original Sin. Like, I did like a couple of times, but knowing the premise I feel like the number should’ve been higher. But I think just the horror of each episode made me unable to cry… if that makes sense. I felt suffocated every episode and lowkey asphyxiated during certain scenes. I just processed it differently than I usually do.

Perhaps you also had a different kind of processing rather than crying?

you not the only one who feel this.. you don't need to cry to show that you sad.. its enough that you feel sadness and empathy to the character.. its show that you care for them and you understand their problem

nah it just means that u r more grounded in reality. See, I didn't cry watching it either, but it's not like I don't cry for fictional characters at all. Well, I didn't "cry" but I did feel very sad at certain character's demise, and mostly because I got attached to them. U just can't get attached to any character within 6 episodes, so it's completely normal.

I see everyone in this thread is pampering you but I'll just be straight with you; Yes, you're heartless. Absolutely ruthless. Cold as ice. If they ever adapt your life into an anime, the opening song will just be silence.

you might have healthy family dynamics which is great, i mean feeling no relation to these kind of parental behaviour and not having conscious or unconscious flashbacks of your own.

It's just the first episode I went from feeling a little bit bad for her, to finding it hard and uncomfortable to watch to crying in the end it's an emotional journey, and it'll be different for different people. so just go with the flow. as long as you can feel compassion and are being attached to the story or world it doesn't mean at all that you're heartless

plus forget criying i felt extreme hate for one carecter more than anything and we all know who not evwn the ending saved her from my personal warth

Not crying is not a big deal. It's normal that you won't feel like others. But your asking this question is the most weird thing.

Tbh dude, thats not a weird at all. It is sad seeing these things happen to a poor kiddo. And people who have felt similar ways definitely will be more relating to the scene and react that way, but not crying at that scene ain’t heartless at all. I cried my eyes out on episode 4 and for some people they mightn’t relate to that and not cry over it either.

I think laughing or calling it "unrealistic" is the most concerning response. It depicts abuse, depression, and suicide in their most realistic forms. Takopi is just a vehicle for the viewer to witness the suffering of the cast. Abuse isn't clean. Depression doesn't mean you can't smile, but it is a sense of despair and hopelessness about the future. It's an incredibly disturbing show in how accurately to real-life its darker themes are.

I only finished episode 1, but my reaction coming out of it was "holy shit." Not even by how graphic it was, but just how completely accurate it tried to be. My secondary reaction is "I'm on Mr Bones's Wild Ride and I'm not sure if I want off or to keep going." So, cowabunga it is.
"Thorkell has no resistance to getting kicked in the f-in head. To be honest, neither do I." -Captain Mack

"You've faced many life-and-death situations. But that does not make you an adult. Finding more fallen-out hairs on your pillow, watching your favorite stuffed-bread disappear from the convenience store... the accumulation of those little despairs is what makes a person an adult."-Nanami Kento

"When a piece of media is bad, it's much easier to nitpick the less significant things because they're seen as a part of the problem. Alternatively, it becomes more difficult to nitpick something like a masterpiece because even the flaws are seen as contributing to the overall quality of the media." -Paraphrasing Mauler

Didn't cry. Not because it wasn't sad, sometimes you don't sometimes you do... I cried in one of the episodes Kaguya-sama and I rarerly cry watching something, so it's normal.
