After the story with Wolf, the anime became quite boring.

Gag is not bad but it seems like the author suddenly gave up on the main story and focus more on the gag part.
The gag was also funnier on the early episodes, I chuckled when the teacher called Moi as Gon lol.

I haven't watched Sket Dance but I watched and liked author's other work Kanata no Astra so I was hoping good story like that.

Now viewer know what does 'watch' mean in witch watch, a nice way to close the season.

Overall pretty decent. I hope next season will progress the main story more. Hoping that the author gives Kanshi and Miharu their female pair lol.

For the final episode of season 1, as expected from a finale, the graphics, sound, and story tension are all showcased here.
But yeah, I thought the person who took advantage of Nico’s magic was part of the real enemy who intended to eliminate Nico because of his magic. Turns out, it was just a fellow student who felt jealous.

As for the entire season 1, it’s okay—entertaining enough. I can’t say it’s really good, but it’s not bad either. Some episodes are funny and entertaining, while others feel empty, with no comedy and no connection.
I give season 1 a rating of 7.6.

Hopefully in season 2, the story will improve, and I also hope the comedy stays consistent—reduce the regional jokes and just use more universal humor that everyone can understand.

I almost mixed up the incident in the pool with something earlier on, though this works as a decent bookend to the start where Nico was newly popular with regards to her magic at the school, something I think people appreciated in how it wasn't something dragged out too long

It's genuinely impressive the guy could run like that and still follow the spell rules, since that'd involve not just a lot of lung capacity, but breath control in a way that I wish I still had from marching band days. Not even entirely sure what the plan was in terms of sabotage, though sometimes it was darn close, even if it wouldn't have been associated to magic, like the big planet globe thing that Moi had to catch

I really liked that the "bad guy" was actually using Nico's own powers to do bad, but I didn't like that this is the 1st time we really see all 4 bodyguards working together, and it's against a normal ass dude lol

Glad to see Nemu one last time, she was missing for quite a few episodes, and god she is really in love with my boy Keigo 🥰

I'll gladly wait for the 2nd season, I started watching this show simply because of the name, I ADORE ANIME WITCHES, but didn't really expect anything from it, but man was I wrong because this show slaps, every character is likable, the plot is fun, the comedy is on point, and the quality is solid during the entire run.
Fuck it, I'll give this a 10/10!
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~
Btw, cry about it.

Witch Watch(ers) - it's always when drop the title like that. Moi got the help of others and prevented another assassination. A part of me was thinking what the odds are that it was just a decoy for a bigger plan since it's the finale and all but thankfully that wasn't the case. Not that kind of show, for better or worse.

I'd have to say I probably enjoyed the first half more just because it felt like there was more plot progression but the general cast definitely shined in moments of the second half, so it never felt like a drag to keep up with the episodes.

I'll go with a generous 7/10 for this one. I wonder if they'll go for another 25 episodes next season, that'll be pretty surreal I think.

Same, liked firts half more. I also thought it was more funny and plot progressed more. But very nice old school lighthearted fun show. Hope one day will be complete and not fall victim of the great shows that never had a tv ending. I randomly saw it on my streaming, give a watch without expecting anything, enjoyed it. Much episodes left me entertained with a feel good vibe, so good show for me.

Not sure I want to watch S2. 25 episodes yet nothing really happened when it comes to plot progression. As someone said, this anime feels like one big filler. Slow, random shit happening. Dunno, I just found it meh and boring, even though it had enjoyable moments here and there.

that was a fun finale for a fun two season long anime. not an incredible amount of 'story' happened with anything throughout the show. but i guess this isn't that type of adventurous urban fantasy teen ROMCOM. i didn't get too deep into the show either, i guess it is just kinda-sorta funny and fun fluff to make the viewers smile and laugh etc. i am highly surprised an immediate sequel announcement was made. especially with this high of an episode count for the 1st season. one thing i do hope is removed in the 2nd season... the doujinshi duo of ladies. those stories were worthless to me, i wasn't invested in them at all and i didn't find them funny even once. put those girls' stories on the disk versions as DVD/BR extra episodes/bits instead of wasting airtime.
just an ol school American otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.

It makes me sad to say goodbye to this anime. Its ridiculous humor and overall aesthetic gave me such a sense of peace—it brightened up many Sundays, even if just for a moment.

I never thought I’d end up liking it this much, but it truly won me over. I’m so glad a second season has already been confirmed.

I really enjoy this one a lot and really looking forward for its next season. It's chaotic comedy that brought by Nico's magic is situationally funny, clever references and also has inherent logic. The show is also full of side cast with their distinctive quirks or personalities. My favorite would be the mangaka pair between the teacher and the student, they are wholesome and also hilarious. I want their spinoff story now lol. The same thing could be said to the main group. For best girl, it's pretty close between Nemu and Nico though Nemu win by just a head. One thing that I notice is the stark difference between the dynamic of Nico and Morihito in the earlier episodes compared to the later ones. While Morihito always acts more as the straightman in the earlier episodes, it's actually the opposite for the later episodes somehow lol. This could be seen as Morihito already getting used to the absurdity around him rubbing to him so he feels safe enough to let his weirdness comes out too. That's a nice touch and I like that little switch between them.

I felt like the show is a little underappreciated just because it's a comedy that has a supposedly long term plot but it's mostly comedy. So when there's little romance or the serious arcs, people complain about it and said most of the show are just bunch of fillers, like what the heck? Are these people only watching the show only for the action and the romance part? They said the slice of life part are pointless? Okay, enough ranting. I actually really enjoy their shenanigans where the five of them just hanging out together and they do always deliver the comedy although it's not always hit all the time but appreciated. Second season can't come soon enough but I'll probably just checked out it's manga sooner.

This show had some funny moments early on, but the last streak of episodes have been so boring :(

Between this episode and the jeans episode, the punchline to a boring plot can't be "well that was boring lol" - WHAT

Not a bad anime and I really like the characters, but the second part was just filler after filler and too many episodes spent for nothing.
Curious to see, if the second season will be more focused on the story.

This was probably the most tiring series I've watched this year. It has its ups and downs, and mostly boring stuff being delivered because—as it was said in the previous episode—"characters were mostly tropes of other genres getting inserted into one series", was really spot-on.

The only memorable things in this series would be the relationship and mostly friendship of each characters to each other, especially Keigo's and Nemu's budding connection for each other... That's the only thing interesting for me.
The comedy is too overhyped and overused already in this era, so the rating couldn't be much weirder. The only saving points of this series is because Yoasobi made the OPs... Which made the series better. EDs weren't bad. But most of the episodes feel like feelers. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED TO CASUAL OR HARDCORE WATCHERS
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Ahh so that's why its called Witch Watch, that's kinda smart naming of a series :}

Nice to see a school festival...but that comedy duo was really something else, haven't cringed that hard in a while.

But, man was it cool to see the 4 familiar bro's hunting down Nico's enemy. Even Wolf was happy to help which I never would have seen coming.

Cannot wait for season 2 of this wacky show :}

Enjoyed the show but it really does swing back and forth from funny and engaging to passable entertainment. Now that the characters have been established pretty well I hope we can see a Season 2 with an upward projection. Morihito's character is hilarious. I love how serious and opinionated he gets about the silliest things, denim jeans is the first thing that comes to mind.

Keigo and Kanshi's performance went like Morihito said it would. He knows them well.

The mysterious villain planning to do evil with magic turned out to be the scorned festival planner Hajime. I'm sorry for doubting you Kujo.

This was a fun season and i'm happy it's already getting a second one on the way.

lolol no plan... oh boy this is gonna be chaotic... esp since "playing with Nico's magic" is involved....

...... Kudro I think his name was? yea, he's suspicious...

hmm using the spells for the closing ceremony... why do I have a feeling they're gonna wear off and people are gonna fall from a fatal height... or something... oh boy...

lol with all of his hyperfixations and how particular he is about them, I kinda feel like Moi is autistic... I mean, I'm no expert (besides being on the spectrum myself), but I can see some of the signs lol

I get practicing at the park, but it seems some students are there, so wouldn't that spoil them when the true performance comes? esp with how popular they're getting... hmm, maybe not, if the crowd keeps getting bigger... idk lol, we'll see I guess...

is it just me, or did one of those girls look like Nemu lol

oh boy, seems they're gonna ad lib a bit... I kinda have a bad feeling about this...

ok, now that I have seen Nemu again, I think I was wrong lol

oh god, i was right... it's so badddddd.... even Moi is... whatever he's doing lol

the guy blended in so he could have the spell cast on him and then went off to "commit a crime" I guess...

... oh no, why did I just think this guy might be a decoy.......

ok, good, it was just that guy. I kinda wonder what "crime" he was actually planning on committing though... maybe he wasn't going to do anything, though the fact that he had a bat before he got caught does worry me... oh well, guess we'll never find out...

You know what, pretty solid anime. It was a fun watch. The humour and references were good, was laughing a lot of the episodes. The characters, and the chemistry with each other, were fun to watch🙌.

As for story, I feel like the anime is missing the "Slice of Life" tag, because it didn't really go anywhere much, other than the subtle development in the relationships between Morihito and Nico, and Keigo and Nemu. It felt like I was just vibing along😅.

Either way, Season 2 was announced and in the works, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of these characters💯. W Anime!! 🔥🙌✅️

Wow, what a embarrassing bad impression for the "comedic" duo on stage, and ignoring Moi's suggestions, that was deserved. The rest... great as usual, i was afraid of a real dark turn of events and / or cliffhanger with that mood switch, but i it was such a relief that it didn't happen. The rest of the episode (cultural festival as a setting is always a win) was between funny and sweet as expected, watching everyone float with joy especially, and i'm happy this series got confirmed with a second season. The characters are all likable, there has always been much more comedy / slice of life than i could ever predict. Even if things will become serious in season 2, i'm glad this one existed and made me feel so satisfied. 9-/10

Thoroughly enjoyed this series from beginning to end. 10/10 rating for me. Can't wait for season 2! It was really hilarious and fun, especially after going through the seriousness of Assassination Classroom. I'll check out Astra Lost in Space next, but wonder why Sket Dance was never dubbed.

Really good series with a fun
cast, for me it definitely has the potenial to match Sket Dance in the future.

@FMmatron Any reason why Sket Dance never got dubbed? Maybe this series' popularity will push studios to do so now?
