| The first half of the Namek arc is probably my favourite part of all of Dragon Ball. One reason being that so much of the storytelling is not based on strenght. The scanners play a huge role in the arc and many characters have to use their wits to get around them. A great example here is the village elder realising this and destroying them. Toriyama could have easily given Freezer some kind of Dragon Ball tracker, simirality to how the bad guys hade one in the Red Ribbon Army arc, but instead they use the scanners to locate villages. It's also interesting with the bad guys and good guys in some ways having different powers, with being able to or unable to alter their strenght. |
