Shirobako marks the second work-themed original anime by P.A. Works after Hanasaku Iroha in 2011. The 24-episode anime series aired in Fall 2014 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll. The third and seventh home video releases included two special episodes in February and July 2015.

The sequel movie premiered in Japan on February 29. The movie was re-screened in theaters featuring remastered footage on August 28.

Madman Entertainment also licensed the anime in Australia and New Zealand and released it on a DVD volume in December 2016.

Great to see it come over officially, but it worries me that it may not receive a dub as well considering Sentai owns the TV series. If so, I would be very disappointed.

Hopefully this means I'll finally be able to watch this soon.

to forge a path into the marrow of the spirit.
They chose to drown in a deeper vacancy,
an emptiness that quells the null,
a pool for the forgotten..."

The movie didn't do well in Japan due to COVID. I do hope it makes it budget back through international licenses.
