Great series. The yandere cursed jewel being voiced by Hanazawa Kana right after her divorce is sadly hilarious.
BTW I heard later in the source materials there is some romantic progression, but not sure if I'm right:

| The so-called "Bochi-like" turned out to be just your regular reverse-harem shoujo anime — and not even a good one. It’s not a modernized take on the genre either... if anything, it feels like they went 20 years backward. The goody two-shoes heroine, the overly loyal blue-haired guy, and the overly handsy "tragic" prince all feel like they were manufactured in a factory. Overhyped dogshit and a waste of time |

| I couldn't help but feel like this was overrated all the way to the very end. I honestly don't know what this show does better than some other generic fantasy shows, but maybe the real problem is that I can't help but be put off by the MC, her extreme anxiousness leans more towards annoying than endearing, and obviously being more or less indifferent to the MC is bound to drag the show down. I also didn't like that her entire role as the prince's bodyguard and the whole assassination plot, feels like it took a backseat to an academy slice of life type of vibe, but... whatever. 6/10 |

| I felt sad when Monica cried, but not because I cared about her father's death or the book-burning. This anime has been much, much less than the sum of its parts, to a shocking degree. Monica's goofy cuteness and voice-acting, the visuals and the music carried me through the finish-line, but taken as a whole alongside the story, character writing, pacing and tonal shifts, the anime just left me disoriented and dissatisfied. All I can say is that that was a whole lot of nonsense. It was just so, weird, man... What a shame. |
| Finding her dad's book was real touching, surprised the friend clerk didn't question anything. The ending was a lot more mellow than what I was expecting, but the parts with the prince were great so I'm not complaining. Overall it was a real fun watch. It didn't feel like the plot get very far so I'm hoping for a second season. |

| Was personally, low-key, kind of turned off since episode 7. But this last episode is such a strong one to end off the season with, so I can't complain. Will be on the lookout for that season 2 announcement. |

| I can't believe I get to see another series like this who got a splendid animation, and the plot itself is actually quite not bad—even if the unchanted casting is pretty much the rage back then, this one used it in a more effective way to actually show the character of the main protagonist, which makes this quite the next level or equal to Jobless Reincarnation—but don't get me wrong. Mushoku still has an impact to me, but the animation for Silent Witch was actually quite flawless in retrospect. Even the shades and movement of the clothes were fascinating to watch. I watched this in jp dub, and you won't regret it——the en dub on the other hand, not so much. I definitely want to have the next season. Please make S2 😭😭😭. Man, this series gives me the world building of S1's Jobless Reincarnation, and I want more... lmao 8.5/10 but animation and characters are 10/10. |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |
| This episode really solidifies it: Monica is the heart and soul of the entire show. Her expressions, so endearing and full of quirks, are impossible to resist. But it’s more than just her cuteness — she’s the driving force that propels everything forward. Monica’s ability to connect with her friends, her fierce determination in battle, and her knack for finding solutions to any problem make her the true standout. She’s the reason I was able to enjoy a light novel fantasy that, while charming, didn’t always shine in its plot or pacing. The world and story sometimes felt a bit rushed, skipping over moments that could’ve added depth, but Monica kept me invested through it all. In retrospect, the show could have been even better with a double cour and a few more moments to flesh things out. Still, I’m grateful for what we got. Despite the imperfections, it was a thoroughly enjoyable ride. I do hope for a second season, though it doesn’t seem like that’s on the horizon just yet. For now, it’s an 8/10 from me on MAL. Finished on 17th November 2025 at 22:41 Hrs IST. |

| Good end I wonder if the Dad's friend realized who she is, probably not, lol. And the 2nd Prince just scored more points toward Monica for buying her the book. . Also... LOL, they gave Monica wine and she instantly got drunk, good thing she was already wearing something underneath as she removes her cloth. (unless she wasn't, and she was really naked and 2nd Prince didn't even flinch while she put on her sleep cloth...) But OFC, the 2nd prince decide to sit next to and watch her sleep, LOL. Good thing he didn't "took advantage" of her while she's drunk. . I wonder tho... does the 2nd Prince not do anything to Monica cause he actually did "fall in love" with the Silent Witch even without seeing who she is? Or did he switch the affection to "Monica" as she constantly reminds him of his own childhood? Imagine if the 2nd Prince figured out who Monica really is... dude would be going hard core on Monica at night. |

| It was somewhat a fun show, but I couldn't care less about the male characters. They're all very... creepy and rude toward Monica. I really can't stand whenever the Prince is on screen and his "gentle" voice just makes me shiver in a bad way. The parts with Monica and her female friends are fun to follow, though. If this was a reverse harem show, then it was my mistake for missing it. The plot is meh, and nothing really happens most of the time, almost like it was a slice of life show honestly. A 7/10 and that's counting in the good animation. Without it, this would sit comfortably on a 6/10. |

| I had fun watching this anime. But it was largely carried by the high production value and cute voice acting of characters like Monika, Ryn and Isabelle. The story ain't bad but also not great either. I don't know whether the plot gets interesting from now on. Also, it feels like this show lacks strong male leads and any worthy romantic partner for Monika tbh. I just googled who Monika's gonna end up with and was quite surprised by the spoilers. I should probably check out the light novels but I'm hesitant after reading the spoilers... As far as the anime goes, I'd give it a solid 8/10 for the spectacular animations and voice acting. Monika's VA was quite impressive. I've seen many people calling Monika 'Mage Bocchi'. I'm not into watching CGDCT genre anime, so I still haven't watched Bocchi the Rock. Now I'm more curious about watching Bocchi than reading the light novel of this anime haha. |
