| @Kit Hi kitty cat :) I'm still a regular MAL user, at least for the fact I watch a lot of anime. It's tough knowing most people here moved on to other realms. Of course my life has had a lot of changes and we all get busy with various things, but I do have good memories of entering my bed late at night and desperately trying to catch up with the pages of mafia games I fell behind on during the day. So many MAL clubs moved on to Discord. The immediate reward rush you get from instant messaging over forums surely played a role. But Discord servers aren't immune to dying either. I'm lucky to have been in one that's still kicking and has even hosted a few mafia games, although it's not its main purpose. Now the amount of members has lowered a bit, but we're looking to make things roll again, so I guess that's what I've been up to. I guess if I were to add something a bit more personal, I'm currently studying in hopes of becoming a professor, but I feel like the road ahead is very long. T_T Whose turn is it to speak next? |
| Wowow someone replied so fast!! @Mishukax Hi Mishu!!! I'm always on MAL to keep track of anime/manga but I don't socialize in clubs or forums so much anymore. I understand the appeal of discord clubs but it feels harder to insert yourself into live community chats compared to on forums, at least for me. Anyway now that I have a full time job instead of being a NEET (shocker..) I don't have as much time either. I'm currently studying in hopes of becoming a professor, but I feel like the road ahead is very long. T_T You can do it!! I believe in you!! 🎓📚 I suppose that means you need to do graduate school right?I wonder if there actually are other lurkers.. I usually don't notice when someone posts in this club even though I'm on MAL often |
| @Kit no kidding about that Discord remark. I've tried all sorts of things to make a server more appealing and easier for newcomers to talk to, but nothing seems to be a surefire way to go. You need a special type of person at a special stage of their life where it feels natural to them to start talking in a server full of people who are already friends. Forums on the other hand, you already go in with the assumption that they're there for anyone to post in. Yes, I would need to do graduate school. It absolutely pains me, as I never found university enjoyable. In the end I would simply like to teach my favourite subject, so teacher rather than professor is also an option. But dang, so many sacrifices need to be made in order to give a particular path to your life. At the moment I'm also just working. Not doing the best financially but it's been worse. My bad habit of buying books I don't read doesn't help at all. Hey nice seeing some life in here. hope you're doing okay on the mental |
