Well, Teoritta knows how to fun. Seems she's the most excited about the festival.

Not much action this episode, mostly storytelling and lore. I think the most interesting part is Venetim being 'sentenced as a hero'. Patausche also seems like the most knowledgable person about their world.

The Goddesses lore and the isekai aspect, interesting.
Tsav looks like a straightforward guy, a little too straightforward.
And of course Teoritta, silly as ever amidst all these military conspiracies.

Nice episode. After all, Kivia seems to be really nice and she’ll probably be on our side in no time. Teoritta and Xylo’ relationship is going really well, I like it. Tatsuya was summoned from another world by a Goddess??? How is that. I really like Venetim, he’s a bitch lol, nice “backstory”, he’s so funny as well. Tsav looks cool, He seems to be the faster type.

Genuinely impressed by this anime. Deep down, Kivia is really starting to believe that Xylo had to kill his first Goddess out of mercy. And that backstory with Venetim, damn.

No action this episode, but every show needs a break from it either for building up the next episode or just to have a chill one. Finally know what venetim is good for which I should’ve realized sooner. I don’t have the best memory. Overall I quite liked this episode

Venetim making a lie so outrageous it was the truth got him punished with a sentence worse than death.

Well, at least demon blighted spies being in every human organization explains all the corruption!

Threatening the Hero's with death if they don't fight until they're dead is madness, but I am interested in seeing what Tsav can do.

Given the background, Venetima and Xilo, it seems that the next hero will be Kivia, because she is too honest and respectable, and the new hero looks interesting and solves problems well.

OK so we know the basic plot, demons are behind everything. But something about this is still pretty, meh, I don't know none of the characters are very likable. Or I don't know, kind of reminds me of Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress it looks great, but the plot is just a bunch of random stuff slapped together and it's not really gelling. Like okay if they are framing these guys like Xylo why do they even want them out there with super powers fighting? Why not just kill them? How are they benefitting from sentencing them to be "heroes"?
Also did they just make this an isekai by mentioning one of the angels might have summoned Tatsuya from another world? Ugh why would you do that?

That guy is one of the BEST con artists in that or any World. Too bad it wasn't that that actually got him in trouble, but stumbling across the truth as a reporter for a tabloid newspaper. The Church is actually infested with some of the enemy is a sick reveal.

Matsuri daaaaaaa...

And back to these characters. I'm going to be sad if it turns out that Tatsuya and The King are just the B-squad. Kivia with the lore dump, putting another copy-paste light novel trope on the board as we learn that among goddesses, Tunisia has "The Weakest Power!"

Church and Military are both assholes, but they apparently hate each other and the government is full of demons, no surprise. My boy Kazuma seems entertaining, though.

With the revelations in this episode, I wonder to what extent the "fairies" have infiltrated the Church, military, and royalty of that world. I also have questions about what these infiltrators are like, since they seem like ordinary people at first glance.

Are they parasites like the Goa'uld from Stargate, taking control of their victims' bodies, but their hosts remain aware of everything that's happening? Or are they more like the Genestalers from Warhammer 40,000, mutated and controlled by a hive mind? Are they controlled by a single demon king infiltrated in the capital, or are they autonomous?

The world of Yuusha Kei ni Shosu is becoming more and more grimdark with each episode.

@MenchiK1 It was funny to see that people didn't realize they're using the Hero Seal to control people with exceptional abilities who pose a risk to the temple, but of course there's another important factor that hasn't been revealed yet.

As for the isekai aspect, yes, this is an isekai world, so what...? Only one of the characters is from another world and he can't even speak. lol

Funny. No action, but I liked this episode the most so far. Somehow I'm not surprised about Isekai element. Poor Teoritta turns out to be the weakest goddess and they wanted to experiment on her huh? Because they want to make goddesses??? So guns are too alien high-tech, but they want to make their own OP lolis with superpowers instead? Sounds like they haven't figured out a wheel, but want to build a rocket.

So at least 2 more goddesses are active.

Wonder if castle defense will drag on "forever" or it'll be over in couple of episodes.

Finally some lore about the goddesses. Are the goddesses androids? Cause highly advanced society in ancient times. Knew Tatsuya was gonna be important after hearing Matsuoka's voice. He's from another world. Also imagine getting punished for a false article you wrote which turned out to be true. Karma caught upto him good. But I also dont know what to say about casually revealing how the blight has infiltrated human high society. We were given the impression they were zombie like without a mind but that's certainly not the case. Xylo getting framed is definitely connected to this as well. Kivia's growing as a character but for some reason I only see a doomed future for her.

It was alright. More of an exposition episode that is transitioning to the new battle of defending the fortress as well as explaining a bit more about goddesses and goals of dissection and experimentation to mass-produce even more powerful goddesses for battles, as well as how Venetim got sentenced in the first place to being a hero through a bullshit article that ended up being true lol. Tough luck for him. The world still doesn't feel that unique to me but there was more effort to at least give it a bit more depth here with this lowkey episode. One thing that is nice is that the world being a fantasy world where someone reincarnated there but isn't the main protagonist in Tatsuya (while the actual MC isn't) is a nice little detail. Kivia isn't too bad and is showing visible conflict about Xylo after the actions he took before in saving her squad but the characters in general haven't been that great to me. Still pretty bland and uninspired for the most part and the main thing that's keeping me a bit disconnected when watching this. Interesting parts can be there but the dull feeling with the cast and the storytelling direction at times still cloud it a bit. Visually, this one was good as usual. Definitely more of a 'low priority' feel to it but if that's the base standard, this season should be in good hands for the rest as far as the art and animation go. Decent backgrounds in there.

So Venetim was a con man but instead of a lie he instead actually accidentally said the truth...thus got sentenced to be a hero damn. So if what he said was the truth then uh I guess royal family temple military etc all have been compromised...and explains I guess why Xylo got frammed and other corrupt stuff. For their next mission they're literally forced to fight until they die so they literally have to die for the mission to end...

Also Tatsuya really is an Isekai guy who got sentenced to be a hero and has died so many times he's forgotten himself. Poor dude. Also I guess officially this is an isekai now maybe?

We also got new hero we haven't seen yet Tsav and he might be the most troublesome one huh.

Also got some stuff on other goddess. There's one that can see the future , one that can rain down lightning and storms, and another that can create poison. So comparing the powers of the goddess they really wrote off Teoritta whose ability is to create swords and thought about analysing aka dissecting her wtf. These mf trying to make more goddess by dissecting one...man they really have been infiltrated with those infected by the blight and are pretending to be human.

So that means though Xylo creating a pact with Teoritta really saved her from the worst fate.

Also, Kivia's well not the worst. Basically, I guess her and all those guys fighting in the forest to die was their atonement, I guess. Still kinda dumb though. At least among the other side, I guess she's the closest, probably to our heroes right now. I hope she just keeps getting better from here.

Also liked we got some kinda slice of life before the next mission. We see them kinda chill and even find that Xylo likes poetry.

I’m loving the amount of world building and focus on characters personally. We were already warned about the animation of episode 1 not being indicative of the whole season so it doesn’t come as a surprise to me these episodes are relatively more chill and character driven now. I love Teoritta and Xylo’s gradually deepening bond and even Kivia is starting to come around. She clearly knows Xylo isn’t the monster they paint him out to be, but she’s still got some of that brainwashing to break free of. She reminds me of Gabimaru and Sagiri relationship in Jigokuraku.

Wait, we gonna skip over the fact they just confirmed Tatsuya is an isekaijin lol?? I hope they touch more on that later.

Holy shit so Venetim was right, the demon blight aka demon lords are controlling some of the people at the highest echelons of power on the human side. Massive reveal, but I really feel bad for how things went for him. I can’t wait until we start seeing Xylo getting his revenge.

ahh... so a little R&R and exposition episode.

yep, that's one of the problems with success in battle when the leadership is vastly too incompetent to pour urine out of a boot without reading the instructions printed on the bottom of the sole. the best of the disposable units are tasked with more and more dangerous or important or impossible tasks. plus, they are given less and less and less support as time marches them ever closer to being given nothing and expected to do everything.

i do wonder though, after that poison goddess sniper strike put the demon lord into some form of regenerative stupor... did the morons take advantage of that state and attack in overwhelming force? apparently not or the demon lord would be dead already.

Wow, interesting revelation to find out that Venetim accidentally revealed a truth when he wrote an article describing spies being under the influence of the Demon Blight infiltrated the Temple, royal family, etc. I think that explains why Xylo was framed and why they are making absurd demands from the heroes. On that note I think a death would've been better for Venetim since he got some sensitive information revealed to him plus he is a very clever conman and I can only see his knowledge and capabilities backfiring on the corrupted nobles.

This episode was the most information-heavy of the series so far, giving us a better look at both the characters and the world itself. The voice acting is also a strong point - Kivia’s voice in particular stands out, especially when she says “Xylo Forbartz” (love it every time). Xylo’s voice is pretty cool too and suits his character well.

I’m looking forward to learning more about the other heroes and goddesses as well.

Honestly, I quite enjoyed this episode, probably my favorite since the 1st episode. This is mainly due to the fact that the anime finally developed a bit of the setting of this plot, especially how the Goddess works.

For some reason I got the idea from the 1st episode the Goddess were manufactured by humans, which always made me confused, so I'm glad this episode explained where did they come from, and how they work.
It's also quite interesting to think that Dotta ended up saving Teoritta's life, since she was going to be dissected, in order for them to be able to replicate or create more Goddess.
In that short part of the episode they also explored more Kivia's character, and finally explained why she did that suicidal mission in the 1st episode. Basically, she wanted to atone the act the military was going to do with the Goddess. This shows not only that Kivia isn't on pair with what's happening behind the scenes in the military (and the government too), and that her actions so far have been done for what she believes in.

It's quite ironic and Xylo was sentenced to be a Hero for killing a Goddess, but the military was going to do the exact same, with no punishment whatsoever.

So that little scene between Xylo, Kivia and Teoritta was really good in terms of exploring the world of the anime, but also to explore the characters, as we also see another side of Kivia, and once again, the reinforcement of the idea these 3 will end up being basically a "family": a couple with their kid.

In my opinion, Venetim was always an interesting character, because it seemed like there was something special about him, and this episode they ended up exploring his character too, even revealing his backstory and why he was sentenced to be a Hero. Although he doesn't have any skill in terms of fighting, he seems to be quite intelligent and good with words, being able to persuade others, as we saw with how he demanded a lot more from that general for that mission. But obviously, what was really important was how Venetim, just like Xylo, was sentenced to be a Hero to cover up the corrupted government. I didn't understand if Venetim wrote that article purely out of chance, or if he really had some suspicions, but it seems he ended up touching on a topic that was quite on point, and made the higher-ups quite worried, worried enough for them to sentence him to be a hero, and prevent him from spreading that information (telling the truth in this case). This means the government really is full of corruption, some even being corrupted by the demon blight.

In the end they introduced Tsav, that, well, seems to be quite an excentric character too, cutting that man's hand like it was nothing. Curious to see more of this character next episode. One more hero introduced!

Now, as a side note, doesn't this anime have an ending theme? It's already episode 4, and we still don't have the ending theme for this anime, which is quite odd.

Also, Tatsuya appears to be from another world, so can this be considered an Isekai now (at least in Tatsuya's POV)? xD

I gotta be honest, I thought of Kivia as kind of an idiot during the first episode. She was basically setting herself and her troops up for suicide, making arguably dumb strategic moves for a captain. But it makes a lot more sense after this episode, she really felt guilty about what was gonna happen to Teoritta and intended to give up.
