Episode focused more on Yuuki again. It seems her confidence level has dropped but that's ok. It's a survival game and she needs to do what it takes to survive.

Some really interesting chereography this episode especially that phone scene. Wasn't expecting that bath segment but even that wasn't all peaceful.

My heart sank watching those group of girls drown those 2 girls.

The game doesn't even seem to have started yet but they're killing people so I think those tags are important and not everyone gets one which would explain why those girls are trying to take them I guess?

I doubt I'm gonna like any of the new girls playing this next game, seems it'll be a gruesome one for sure.

The direction was INCREDIBLE during Yuki’s conversation in the phone booth and also the scene of her sleeping and gradually waking up. I love how this director uses silence and lighting to enhance these scenes, but holy shit 5 mins and we’re already drowning people? So excited for the golden bath.

A prelude of the 30th game---Golden Bath

This is one of the more confusing episode in the series, with it focusing more on Yuuki's mental state, it seems that she's been going through loads of things, the 30th game curse and kinko's father words have made her a bit more uncertain on participating in more death game. Even worse, she accidentally ate the tracker pill.

Well and there's Golden Bath, Mishiro is back and seems like she has allies now, don't know how Yuuki will react when she meets her old friend again, and i don't think they can avoid a fight there.

Seems like the tag is the key of the game as i believe that 3 woman squad drown people in the bath to get their tag to Mishiro. Hope the next episdoe will redeem the action tag in the series.

Yuki's clearly not getting any quality sleep in this dreamlike episode. A con of being a death-game veteran I suppose.

Kinko's dad contacting her left me with a sinking feeling for a moment. Ending the games wasn't on her agenda, but she's along for the ride now.

This next one is already off to a twisted start. Nothing but towels and two girls forcefully drowned in the bath.

I'd say there's a silver lining with Mishiro doing well, but I don't know if I can give her that compliment just yet...

@Aystarion44 Mishiro is her arch-rival, not her friend. It's one-sided, though, since Yuki is clearly more experienced and tougher, and she knows it.

Absolutely living for this anime. Some big changes were definitely made compared to the light novel. At least pre-Golden Bath game wise anyway. There was no interview the game's organisers as show in the anime. Also, Yuki actually meets Yukiko's father in person while she's on her walk. Here's to next week's episode, let's get scrubbing!

True, Yuuki was kinda fooling Mishiro around in Scrap Building and she ended up liking Mishiro but Mishiro is furious towards Yuuki, and she unleashed her anger in the car when the game ended. The hate did not reach Yuuki though, and I believe next time they met they will settle things down with a fight.

@Aystarion44 I won't spoil how their confrontation ends, but I'll just say that this arc will have a pretty significant ending. Sometimes this story reminds me of a mix between Battle Royale and Game of Thrones, to be honest.

@Mainnus Most games here feature entirely new characters plus two or three various returning characters from previous games. Just imagine the illustrator having to come up with a new design for each one.

I think i just over thinking it.

Basically, the pill in the bottle is the right sleeping pill. The wrong one does not have any sleeping effect. Yuuki ate the wrong pill—> she realised she ate the wrong one—> she ate the real sleeping pill right after to avoid suspicion from her agent so the sleeping effect is still there.

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS FUCKING SHIT!

This time, the soundscape and the OST people flexed their fucking brain power. This shit blasting on a 5.1 system sounds a-fucking-mazing, I don't have words for it. I haven't seen a portrayal of someone's internal struggles done like this episode! THIS FUCKING DIRECTOR IS ON THE LIMITLESS MOVIE DRUG OR SOME SHIT!!!! HOW DOES HE COME UP WITH THIS SHIT, ITS ACTUALLY INSANE!!!

I understand that this adaptation is ultra transformative of the original material, and saw that it gets a lot of flack/hate for this (last episode especially), but this is not a Tokyo Ghoul Root A situation or whatever the fuck was that dogshit lol. THE DIRECTOR plays around well with his mind fuckery and tension so well, elevating what would've been another 5-6/10 slop death game adaptation. I am more inclined now than ever to go and read the manga and LN after this anime is over, that's for fucking sure; so for this point at least, the director did his fucking job in making a viewer be interested in more of the story and the world that he tries to portray from the source material.

Because of all that, you are either gonna love the fuck out off this or absolutely hate it because of the transformative nature of it, and I think that's fine.

Making this type of avant garde show in this slop anime economy nowadays (generic isekais and romcoms make money machine go brrrrrrrrrrrr), where if you are not 1 to 1 copying the manga or LN you are gonna get shit on 100% regardless, I would take this director take on an adaptation any fucking time he does it.

10/10 brutal episode, mentally and physically on its participants. Let the death games resume!

@AdrianFTW99 Adding some more style to an adaptation or some deviations from the original doesn't make a show avant-garde yet, not to mention that the original LN was never a niche work. You have JoJo in your favorites list, so you should feel the difference, I think. It's a classic bishoujo title for a general male audience.

Wow, wasn't expecting to see HER this soon. Very exciting stuff. It feels like Yuki is being sabotaged with the other sedative and the whole archrival matchup. Like the game designers intentionally ramp up the difficulty once the player is about to reach 30 wins, because maybe they feel that it's not exciting if the player is just winning all the time with "little" adversity. But I also think, from this episode we see that the games are affecting Yuki more than we may have initially suspected. Along with the whole Kinko's dad thing, assumedly going to be in touch with her mid-game, the next episodes should be super interesting. I guess it'll be two more episodes for this game and then maybe there will be two more games in the remaining episodes (8, 9, 10, 11). Though maybe that could wind up being one game if this game takes 3 episodes, who knows.

We return to the current timeline after Yuki finished her 28th game. What about the 29th one. They only gave us a glimpse and skipped that. Now she's into her 30th which she knows full well not gonna be easy. It must have really taken a toll on her both mentally and physically after coming this far. Her mentor seems to be a good woman. But who knows how they operate. Does Kinko's dad know that Yuki was the one who killed his daughter? Since he was trying to recruit her to take down the game I wonder what's his idea.. is it just revenge for his daughter or something else ?
Mishiro is now waiting for her nemesis with a big gang that's ready to kill anyone.

Some parts of this episode felt like this. Not in a bad way either. For me this is the second best episode behind episode 1. Maybe not the best show this season overall but the direction is head and shoulders above everything else airing right now. Hope this isn’t a show that gets abandoned after 1 season because for a death game anime the plot has been really interesting. Overall a 9/10 episode for me. Has me fully hooked again.

Why start the game by drowning two girls? Granted it could be like the first game where only a specific number can survive, but until then I'd think the more people the better, to help think of solutions to puzzles and if nothing else to set off traps first.

Unless there's already some rule related to that "key", where you each have to have one to continue but there aren't enough to go around. But damn, not even waiting for all the players to wake up?

Yuki swallowed the tracker after all, though it sounds like she didn't entirely mean to (though she hadn't thrown it away). That might mean she'll get rescued even if the game goes south. But I'm surprised the game organisers wouldn't be checking everyone for that sort of thing, and it might make her a target.

Idk this was a really odd episode, in a fairly good way though. Kinda felt like a breather for the most part taking a break from the games to poke into Yuuki's mind a little deeper, her confidence really don't seem as high as I thought it was. The whole thing with Kinko's father was interesting, I wonder if he even knows Yuuki killed her I doubt it. Or perhaps he'd rather set that aside to cooperate with her to stop the games. Though it seems Yuuki for the most part don't want that. Idk Yuuki's convictions are still kinda a mystery it seems like she don't even really know why she's still going.

But onto the next game "Golden bath" and I mean putting the actual game aside for a second I can tell this is gonna be a massive disaster because it seems like the only 2 potential reasonable players aside from Yuuki have been killed right away. Idk what Mishiro will do honestly im surprised they brought her back this quickly.

Im guessing either Yuuki will go solo or work with Mishiro perhaps, it all really depends on what Mishiro chooses to do here. Though there could still be some more players besides the ones we saw at the end.

And obviously I am curious what a game like "Golden bath" will have in store for Yuuki

Decent ep

So Yuki was broke, but got enough money later and is doing it until completion bc of the love of the game.

So she has a master, surprising and this next game is #30.

Damn, that 1st half was boring.

Looks like Kinko's father wants to destroy the game, which no one can fault him in.

WTF, now that was a turn. Somebody got drowned and Mikan just got drowned as well....

Looks like Prideful Blondie is back so soon....

Watch her get cooked by Yuki again, lol.

@Kokujin_sama I haven't read the LN directly, but people say it has similar problems to Youjo Senki, in that it leaves a lot of things out of the picture, forcing the anime and manga to either fill in the blanks or make up their own stuff. But purely subjectively, until now the main difference between the anime and the manga has been the completely different vibe and the refusal to use the manga as a literal storyboard, as is usually the case with LN adaptations. It doesn't change things as a whole, but it makes them less edgy and more gothic, if you can say so.

Seeing faceless character from Ln getting face kinda made me satisfied, Except I thought Milan had longer hair. In Japanese her brothers oneesan is good but in English that little twerp is like sis not even the complete word... And Milan was in her 6th and last game saving up for his cancer treatment... Alas, They have been changing a lot of things but that's fine and I watched it upon release but hadn't commented yet... I wanted to watch it in both languages... People would be suprised to find out that next episode would be Legit an arc change and back to Candle Woods. Yukki's 9th Game... If I'm wrong sorry, but reading directors mind might be legit awesome... Because I see morgi in character list or are they gonna do a switch between the two games for the period of Next 6 Episode, I saw The Sameko girl hugging Yuki in the trailer... So I know only 2 games remain... But it's kinda frustrating to know how it will go and that is the fun part of it... I hope Season 2 get announced but it will at max only have 2 games because of how link they are... Game 28 was the shortest one that of The first Four Volumes... Fingers Croseed That By The End Of March were hot with S2... I wanna see @_-., H@!&#, ₹#!&° My Top 3 From Vol 3 And 4...

I would advise for that, Tbh all the games are relevant because they connect into future arcs The characters of the arc said to be skipped have been given voice actresses, so they just changed the arcs around and it will be adapted... I theorise the next episode switching to that arc before we continue into this game because it is something... I read the whole novel after Ep 1, so it might be a better time than but I can say one thing for sure the anticipation of what the director would change and enhance is what's fun after reading every, so be up for that because things are the same while being different at the same time... LN is perfect though and plot holes are non-existent ,NGL, Except some times when the series might pull up something that ppl binge reading would doubt... It's tough motivating without mentioning a hint of a spoiler... There is every type of game from Survival To Puzzle To Whodunit To Escape...
