I know this is not over yet with Rem not able to be awake but finally they are happy and enjoying atleast. I'm sure the next one would be another tough choices and challenges from Subaru I know he can do it until the end.. And I'm looking forward on Season 3!

This season felt off, rushed and I saw a clear dip in overall quality.
@Dawizz It's made during peak Covid19, it has directing and art problems

but that doesn't change the fact Re:Zero Season 2 is still best written anime season of all time.

@Okeanix

No idea how one could ever come to the conlusion that Re:Zero season 2 is the best written anime season of all time. I gave part 1 a solid 9/10 but part 2 totally butchered it. But even if you are only considering part 1 as "season 2" - its still far away from being the best written anime season of all time, simply because the conclusion is missing. There is a lot of build up which is all thrown out of the window in part 2.

I was really disappointed. So much dialogue, which was often unnecessarily criptic and stuff was sometimes not even pick up on later.

The whole season 2 could have been done in <20 episodes. So much blown up backstory which was not really necessary. I really hope they improve for season 3.

@Neppii someone who doesn't understand Re:Zero shouldn't be watching it. Especially S3.

"The whole S2 could have been done in <20 episodes" is extremely disrespectful to the author and the director(who wanted to cover more content).

@Neppii 50 episodes of Higurashi can be done in 7 episodes.

Anyway you think Attack on Titan garbage final season is good season, so i will not waste my breath on you to explain why Re:Zero is best written anime.

Everything you wrote is basically false, S2 has ultimate conclusion to first saga basically. Answering all S1 questions perfectly, solving it's own S2 problems perfectly, expanding world lore and characters, multi-layered writing foreshadowings depth details. Characters who got shown up in S2 build for later seasons, so expecting shounen battle between them is your bad take.

There is no single anime better than Re:Zero and it will never change.

@Cormac07 I exagerated to make a point. And this is in no way disrespectful, why should it? Work will always be critisized thats just how it is. I didn't insult them or anything, just stated an opinion. You like the work of season 2 part 2. I didn't. U guys should chill and not insult me with "not worth my breath" or "you haven't understood Re:Zero, so you shldn't have watched it". Thats childish.

Saying sth is the best of all time is a very high bar. And for me that was not reached. And I reasoned my opinion. Nothing more was said. I never said it was trash. But thats how u react.

Lol, and Okeanix. You go on my profile to comment the same thing again to tell me I'm not worth your time? What childish behaviour is this? We all have our favorite Anime. But others might not like it. It's how it is. So stop blindly lashing out to people who critisize it. You won't see me attacking you because you think the ending of AoT is trash.

@Neppii i don't know about the other guy, but what i told you is the truth. It was not an insult.
Criticism should make sense and be valid to all.
If you claim to understand(could have been done in <20 episodes) Re:Zero, tell us why didn't Echidna do the trials herself?
Why did she appear to Emilia(whom she hates the most and had no desire to interact) but not to Garfiel and Subaru(during the trials)?

How can we determine Fortuna's connection with Mather's family?
What were the main purposes of the Sanctuary?Ryuzu Bilma and Shima said two. What are the others(the more important ones)?

What was the goal of the trials?

I am pretty sure you won't be able to answer most of them without looking them up on Wiki.

Less than 20 episodes for a season which had a runtime of 32 episodes of normal animes??

That said, not everything is lashing out on someone else. It was just a humble suggestion. You would be wasting your valuable time and money on Re:Zero.

@Cormac07 I respect your answer. No, I cannot answer every question with 100% certainty. Now, we could discuss further if this is the fault of me, or the fault of the anime. And also, if that is generally necessary, before someone is allowed to like or dislike an anime. But such a discussion is not really necessary at this point as there is no 100% correct answer. Like I said, that <20 episodes comment was an exegaration to make a point. You don't agree, that's fair.

My answer was more directed to the other guy. You did not lash out but he did, I should have made that clear, my bad.
Your suggestion implies though as I would think Re:Zero is trash, so don't tell me its an "humble" suggestion. I have not wasted my time. I was disappointed by the second part of S2, nothing more, nothing less.

Have a nice day, I will not further engage in this forum. It was a mistake to try it.

It all took waaay too long in a roundabout way to get anywhere. So much needless exposition and pointless side characters and time wasting...modern anime seems to be like this too much. Least the seasons end was nice, but now I gotta wait till the 4th season to see what crazy stuff happens next? oof...5.5/10 T<T

Don't know about missing parts don't really care tbh. That knight scene really hit hard when put in comparison to the royal disgrace Subaru pulled in season 1. Fantasies stories in terms of character development Re Zero definitly have one of the best MC. Getting spoiled by such a great season wouldn't really mind another 5 years for season 3 to be animated.

Lucky you, we only had to wait 3.5 years for S3 to be animated, not 5!

Excellent episode, fuaa this Beatrice is pretty broken both in power and knowledge so it's going to be a good and interesting addition.
How jealous Echidna would be of Roswaal, she got what she once dreamed of.
I can't believe at that point Emilia agreed to end up pregnant by Subaru according to her way of understanding things, pretty weird haha.
I love the moment when they all beat Roswaal up haha, she sure gets some way to avoid/break the oath and more if things don't go well.
Julius would be open mouthed that the fake knight ended up becoming a real one hahaha.
I guess what Emilia wants to talk about is her relationship with Subaru and I wonder if a knight can marry or be with someone the nobility so to speak, or maybe she wants to talk about something else... we'll see....
Magnificent journey, I didn't remember the pace this second season has... it feels like a loop that doesn't advance so much but it throws a lot of constant information until the last episodes where it breaks and advances until the end even so I prefer 10 times the first season and I doubt very much that any will surpass it (totally subjective) because of what I already explained.

PS: One thing I forgot to comment, I didn't remember at all that Puck and Beatrice are siblings and that she wasn't looking at Subaru through the window, she was looking with jealousy and envy at Puck and Emilia's relationship.
TIME FOR SEASON 3 COME ON!!!

I think it was an okay episode. The ending felt rushed after all that amazing buildup. The fight against the White Whale was so close and intense that I thought they’d do better with the Great Rabbit. At least we got to see Emilia and Subaru happy for once.

"Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World" Season 2 Part 2 is truly an emotional and intense journey. This part continues the story of Subaru Natsuki as he faces harsh challenges and difficult decisions to protect those he loves.

One of the highlights of this part is character development. Subaru not only has to face powerful enemies but also confront himself, overcoming fears and insecurities. The development of supporting characters like Emilia, Beatrice, and Garfiel is also deeply explored, bringing touching and meaningful moments.

The plot of this part is tightly constructed with many unexpected twists and intense mind games between the characters. Each episode brings a sense of suspense and anticipation, making it hard for viewers to take their eyes off the screen.

The visuals and music in "Re:Zero" Season 2 Part 2 are also impressive. The battle scenes are meticulously choreographed, combined with an emotional soundtrack, creating a fantastic viewing experience.

welp, what a climax.

The first two thirds of this season were such a slog; the Sanctuary arc was shaping up so well, but the relentless torrents of repetitive character drama, backstories, and unnecessarily compoundingly convoluted lore killed the pacing. How many times do characters need to have melodramatic confrontations & goodbyes? As far as I can tell, Ryuzu was an unnecessary character. She did not need to be written into the plot at all. There are ways to weave in her barrier shit without building an entire character -- and surrounding drama -- around it. It all would've been fine if it didn't all run together into a homogenous slurry of emotions.

And some of the conflicts felt contrived just to add dramatic tension.

That said, I loved these last 3 episodes, with several character arcs peaking in parallel. The last 3 episodes were so good I could *almost* forgive the first 9.

Roswaal is absolutely the most interesting character here, and my favorite.

All of season 2 was extremely boring. Too much Emilia crying, we don't care about your feelings loser. And not enough action. It was just yap tap yap which I usually like but there's not a single character in this show that I like. Subaru is a whiny bitch, Emilia is a whiny bitch and everyone else is just lame. (Besides maybe roswal) Overall season 2 was a huge step down from season one. While season 1 focused on multiple plotlines, all of season 2 was about this lame ass labyrinth and furries. Season 2 part 1 = 5, season 2 part 2 = 6. Which equals 5.5 average rating for the season. (How do people think this is better than mushoku tensei)
ALSO, wasn't this whole season supposed to be about getting Rem's memory back? We literally had NO progression on that. What a useless season

This second part was a bit tiring, there is a lot of repetition of dialogues, the characters keep repeating phrases (like Beatrice and Emília) until it gets tiring.
We also had a lot of flashbacks, which helped explain a lot, but they were quite long, which made the main arc feel convoluted.

NATSUKI SUBARU NO LONGER A SELF PROCLAIMED KNIGHT!!! He is officially Emilia's one and only knight now!

We got a pretty happy ending once again for the season. Ram still alive, Roswaal is with us and can't betray us either and he got all the punches he deserves and he finally said sorry, beako with Subaru and they managed to get rid of another great beast the great rabbit, everyone else still alive despite all that happened and got out of the sanctury!!!

Rem still asleep though...but you know besides that all is well.

While season 2 (both parts) got a bit repetitive here and there, the tense moments with that upbeat music made up for it. I guess it was made to explore and flesh out the characters a bit more, providing reasonings behind their actions and overall motives. We got to see the redemption arcs of Garfiel and Rosewall. We saw Subaru's confession of love to Emilia, including that special moment ofcourwe. We saw a lot of flashbacks and lore. And a couple sweet moments drinking tea with the witches. Season 2 answered a lot of questions, while still leaving room open for many others to be answered. I have a feeling this is the calm before the storm, and for sure it's coming! 9:57 PM, January 9th, 2026

I loved Season 1, excpet for the middle part where Subaru's insufferability exponentially increased for a few episodes.

Season 2 Part 1 was kinda good, definitely not nearly as good as Season 1.

Season 2 Part 2 was horrible. So many static shots, so many repetitive and meaningless dialogues, so many insincere attempts at evoking emotions... you really have to willingly become delusional in order to like this, in order to think it had depth, to think it was a "masterpiece". If you can convince yourself, anything can be a "masterpiece" to you, but the harsh reality is that this season, and especially the second part, had too much bad writing, bad pacing, and too much plot assassination.

None of the hyped events were resolved in a satisfactory manner. Subaru and Emilia underwent completely arbitrary character changes as necessitated by the intended direction of the anime. It was like watching an illusion of a good anime. Sadly, I was able to see through the illusion.

I'll give Season 3 a try out of respect for Season 1, but I really had to force myself to suffer through this.

S2P2: 4/10

Emilia behind me, Beatrice beside me, I've never been this strong! ~Some arrogant idiot
