Welp, wild theories are formed but it seems the one that makes the most sense is the serial killer trying to be like Jack the Ripper.

But yeah, this quickly turned into a murder mystery and trying to take down the suspect. Entertaining episode imo. This season is just two episodes in and they're already throwing in a dangerous killer out there in the wild.

Good episode overall. Loads of shenanigans going on, especially with the river of beer flowing out and nearly drowning the gang, an intense sniper showdown and the Jack the Ripper mystery. It's very on brand with Golden Kamuy and they do such a good job in delivering intensity with hilarity. Found it to be better than the previous week.

OP looked great but had a weak song to be honest. Didn't feel the previous season's song either compared to how good the first three seasons' openings were. But that Sugimoto-themed interpretive dance-like ED was glorious. Very fitting too after seeing his ass get sloshed in the river of Sapporo beer. Loved that from the very first second.

Golden Kamuy is standing on business with that mesmerizingly animated ED making callbacks to various Sugimoto moments throughout the series (including the one seen in the recent OVA).

Golden Kamuy can offer a cinematic experience at half the budget of other blockbuster anime, Brain's Base is such an efficient studio, but maybe it's because the source is already very good, that helps a lot.

When I read that four of those guys will play the role of prostitutes I thought the subtitle was wrong, but they really play the role of prostitutes LOL.

If you keep losing tracks on who work with who, don't worry, because it doesn't matter since they're gonna betraying each other in the next minute. Betraying might not even be the right word since they're not on the same side in the first place. Just enjoy the flow (of Sapporo beer).

Getting hammered with the boys and immediately wanting to kill each other afterward, truly peak living right there.

Jokes aside, Noda-sensei storyboarding both the OP and ED was a huge surprise. The ED especially stood out with how much it moved. Great work sensei.

Ariko saying Fusatarou is too big to be believable woman, but we all know what Ushiyama would say.

Shiraishi: this plan is overkill. Hijikata: I know everything can go wrong, will go wrong.

That ED is just how dudes are when they are alone.

Great OP and ED again.

This is one of the series that's still super exciting to watch even after reading the manga. These kind of epic stories with so many moving parts at play are so rare, especially in the current seasonal landscape.

And I adore how there's always time for some random goofiness in the middle of all the tension. Ushiyama turning Usami into a spinner or the beer shower were fucking hilarious. Tho crazy how quickly everyone got drunk. Must've been some strong af beer too or they're just light weights xD

This season already feels on par with the intensity of the second season's finale. Very promising beginning for the race to the finish line.

Once again, everyone's coming together in the same location. I love these chaotic sequences where it's difficult to keep track of everything, like the endings of S2 and S3. Jack the Ripper is one slippery eel to somehow not get caught yet. I'm also shocked that "Sperm Detective" Usami's cum isn't powerful enough to cover the whole area after witnessing that legendary duel last season. And if things weren't crazy already, now Tsurumi's here to turn the insanity even higher.

Sugimoto and the 7th getting drunk from that Sapporo Beer river was also pretty hilarious (nice product placement there). Especially poor old Nikaidou accidentally shooting himself with his shotgun leg. At least he didn't lose another body part this time.

P.S. Sugimoto's interpretative dancing definitely wasn't what I expected from the final ED... but honestly, it's actually perfectly fitting for the madness of Golden Kamuy. Satoru Noda is something else.

I love this chaotic atmosphere, a confusing battle just as everyone (almost everyone) had gathered. I'm glad to see Ashirpa made the decision not to follow him; she's matured a lot mentally. Ogata the chaotic one is still alive; bro should play the lottery. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Why... why is Sugimoto dancing SIA - Chandelier at the ending? Not that I'm complaining.

I'm loving the chaos caused in this chase for Jack the Ripper.

DAAAMN Sugimoto was hitting that shit in the ED! I’m glad in a series full of amazing EDs, we could end on another amazing one for the final season. As for the OP, the visuals are sick but I’m ngl, not huge on the song, it’ll have to do some growing on me because as of rn it’s my least favorite OP of the series.

The episode itself was a banger tho, it’s all coming down to it with all the groups meeting at the Sapporo Beer Factory, definitely a bit reminiscent of when they all met at Abashiri Prison in Season 2, and it’s had no shortness of insanity already with the confusion regarding where the killer is (who apparently might be the real Jack the Ripper which was a cool reveal), and there was the copious amounts of beer that got everyone drunk as well, one moment they’re trying to kill each other and the next they’re all shitfaced, gotta love it lol.

There was also the short bit of a sniper battle between Ogata and Vasily, it was cool seeing the vision of Ogata’s half brother save him from Vasily’s perfect shot, but at the same time I’m kinda rooting for Vasily here even if I like Ogata as a character, so it’s unfortunate that he missed, it did make the revenge sniper match more interesting however, and of course that wouldn’t have been the most satisfying death for Ogata. And there was the Usami and Kadokura moments too, poor Kadokura is terrified of Usami and he is very relentless lol, I guess getting turned into a human frisbee wasn’t enough to shake Usami off Kadokura for good. And lastly was the bit between Asirpa and Kikuta, Kikuta tried his best to convince Asirpa but her conviction is too strong now to be wavered by the past, nice to see but hopefully ol’ Jack isn’t about to do something untoward to Asirpa in the next one.

Two words: TOTAL CHAOS. God, this was fun. You know, I've never totally finished this. I need to correct that. This show is just so Off-the-Wall bonkers it grows on me. LOL That river of beer was great.
But that cliffhanger brings us back to the serious, Jack just ran into Asirpa. Bad News!

I do think that the OP is a little underrated going by the mixed reception it's getting here, but the visuals do stand out and lives up to the "Golden" part of Golden Kamuy. The ED, however, was fantastic. The song itself is very good and seeing Sugimoto doing his random choreography of fighting simulation and dancing all mixed together was entertaining and well animated, too! =)

The episode itself is chaotic now that almost everyone has gathered together at the Sapporo Beer factory and multiple battles followed suit. Sugimoto and some of the others got into a ruffle that ended up with four of them getting partially drowned with beer and seeing how they're trying to continue their fight while being hard drunk was hilarious!

Another funny moment was how Ushiyama turned Usami threw him so hard that he went spinning in the air, like a helicopter. I do love the chaos that this series brings with each episode. My main concern is that Asirpa was spotted by the Jack The Ripper murderer inside the factory. She's holding her own really well so far, but I do hope that, if she does get into severe trouble, help will come her way to save her.

Bro, why is Sugimoto shadow-boxing in the ED?
And why does said ED have more movement than all Golden Kamuy seasons combined? 😢

Really exciting episode. Loved the chaos and goofiness in equal parts.
That cliffhanger tho. Sugimoto better sober up soon and go protect Asirpa from... actual Jack the Ripper?

This episode doesn't wash away last weeks episode, but stuff like this is why Golden Kamuy lives in such rarefied air.

Also when the weird guy get the official name cum detective?

I don't know if Asirpa deserves props from avoiding Tsurumi manipulation by proxy. In the final stages, the weakest one by default should be expected to pull their weight. I'm thankful Noda stayed true to keeping his characters three dimensional. A lesser writer (most of them) would definitely have Asirpa follow Tsurumi even with everything she knows about him.

The Ed is very unique. It doesn't feel like Sugimoto would do that stuff. But it definitely feels like Noda would write him that way anyway for the lols. Then I come to the discussion board where posters say Noda did the storyboards himself or something to that effect. It seems appropriate.

The most interesting for me is Noda is stating with finale energy and we haven't even got to the crazy twists and turns yet. I look forward to what happens next.

Previous episode was pretty boring, on par with Brain's Base takeover with s4 not as good as s3... But this episode was a peak I wasn't expecting and it's not even supposed to deliver here but I'm so glad of the staff's amazing progress, so I'm really hyped for the big final. I've read the manga and I think we'll never get this close to a perfect adaptation!
