ooo this is an interesting perspective! I definitely agree that Rebellion adds a lot to Akemi's character, but growing to love Madoka based on what happens in Rebellion really intrigues me. I'm curious about the depth you felt Rebellion added to her since I may lack some perspective in this area, being clouded by my bias for the original. I came away from the original loving Madoka's pure and kindhearted disposition, with her wish demonstrating a level of selflessness that I found deeply moving. I came away from Rebellion feeling as though Akemi received most of the added characterization, whereas Madoka felt almost passive by comparison, being caught off guard and seemingly at the whims of Akemi's desire. (getting to discuss Madoka with another big fan is hype!)

Also hey! New release date confirmed! I am willing to wait as long as they need to make it as magical as possible, but it is nice to know we won't have to wait too much longer :3c

Ayyy always nice to find someone else with their own notes, glad you enjoyed :3 Being able to indirectly share perspective is so rad, I always feel like I come away from reading someone else's thoughts with a renewed love for faves and a new way to look at things I didn't like as much.

Madoka Magica truly is something special! That 4th movie has been so elusive it huuurts ; x ; It always frustrated me that the original series felt like it had a solid ending and whereas Rebellion demands a sequel; I literally couldn't watch Rebellion again for almost a decade because I was so salty lol. I've come around on it since it allows the characters to reach emotional tipping points that felt like natural extensions of where things were heading and of course offers the magical opportunity for even more Meguca :3c I sincerely hope you're right about them announcing the new release date soon, I can't wait to see it in theaters multiple times. Will be a dream come true!
