Sousou no Frieren 2nd Season

Following the First-Class Mage Exam, the trio—elven mage Frieren, warrior Stark, and first-class mage Fern—gains access to the dangerous Northern Plateau. As the party presses onward toward Aureole, formidable adversaries force Stark to confront his insecurities, solidifying his resolve and his role as the party's frontliner. Meanwhile, Fern continues to cherish the gifts she has been blessed with throughout her life, each a reminder of those she holds dear.

Frieren—still honoring her vow to understand humanity—revisits memories of her journey with the Hero's party and her fleeting encounter with a legendary figure. As she reflects on the passage of time, the elven mage quietly questions whether she has truly changed, yet in the small, almost subtle choices that she makes, there are signs that she might have become more human than she realizes.

Purely amazing, Im glad they kept the pace and vibe of the show consistent from season 1 going into season 2. Im usually a battle anime enjoyer so for me to fall in love with something like Frieren that isn't necessarily solely focused on fight scenes is amazing. The way they manage to capture interest while depicting what normally would be a very boring scene is pure talent. Ontop of that when they do have a fight scene they truly craft beauties especially for a show that doesn't do a lot of them, it makes them feel way more impactful cause we know that our ... cast isnt actively seeking out these battles.

I am disappointed at this season. The first season is a 9.5 for me, because it has great world building and a fresh concept to get you watching, and after a few episode, they bring in the hype, the 'Aura KYS' moment is so goated. There is always some big arc interlaced with some slice of life moments. The 2nd season however, is just small slice of life story for 5 episode now, which completely ruins the show. The hype is totally gone. And all the story telling method is so overused by now, it has become a trope and boring.

No stakes ever in this show, aside for animation, nothing going for it.

It tries to be the most unfunny, boring anime ever made.

Every single episode is the same - they meet a guy that knows frieren. They met 70 years ago, they have a quest, they mention Himmel the Hero. The quest is over because power of friendship. Insane how bad it is, no plot no stakes no comedy no character development. Meaningless slop

I feel like watching the same episode over and over and over again. There's nothing new except for the animation, which is actually the only strong point. The only actually fun part ... of the story is maybe the spells and their uniqueness but after a while it's corny and very on the nose with, waiting on a "look a quirky silly spell that makes you meow periodically" or something along these lines.

If not for the fanatical fanbase it would be a 4/10 at best. Season 1 was kinda fun with the way it played out, it felt like there was something to it but season 2 where nothing changes. Season 1 had SOME story and was trying to have a plot, season 2 is the laziest most boring slop with nice animation.

If you like a pretty animation or You need sleep aid and don't like melatonin then it's for You.

If you like a compelling story and character development go watch anything else, literally anything has better story than this garbage.
