| Seeing Fern smile and the ship finally sail made me really happy. Like YES Stark finally made her feel truly good. He’s still an idiot and pretty clueless but he did it. Fern is clearly getting more attached to him and showing her girly side more, even if she doesn’t notice it herself. She does it without thinking, which makes it really cute. That talk about them both waiting for a date completely sold me on the slow burn romance they have going here. And yeah, I get wanting to stay in your hometown, but honestly it feels like that place should’ve been taken over by monsters a long time ago, unless there’s some kind of barrier magic. Still, monsters mean fights, and this was easily the most polished episode so far, even if the action was short. Those few minutes were some of the best in the season. Pretty sure that was Huang and his team, and if it was, man they really cooked here. OST was great too. Easily the best episode so far, really curious how they’ll top it in the next six episodes. |

| Despite traveling with two girls Stark still has a lot to learn about woman. But at least he was trying and Fern was in a good mood so i guess things worked out. And now they are in a location which seems like a very hard place to live. Hopefully things will be alright and they will be able to help some people along the way. |

| KICKING AND PUNCHING MY PILLOWS, GIGGLING AND CRYING. THE SHIP IS SAILING AND IM HERE ABOARD! That was a really sweet date~ They really are so innocent with all these stuffs, but hey they're starting to progress– Stark especially was so brutally honest with everything he sees and it felt like things were not going well. But in the end, both of them are just thinking about each other and how the other one would have fun with the date, to quote Sein once again: JUST START GOING OUT ALREADY! (wait they literally just did). ~And we've finally entered the most dangerous part of the continent, what do you mean this is just a beginning and they are already having a bit of trouble!? They will have to update their battle tactics now and probably be more versatile with their usage of magic. I love that fight so much, it was so different from usual where they just overpowers their opponents, the way Fern used her Shield to spawn Butterflies to act as distraction was genius! And how they let Stark tank that Zoltraak or rather, have Fern selectively shield him because it will 100% block the attack. Another week of my goat Himmel being the pinnacle of what all Heroes should be. And another good night of sleep after a Frieren Friday. |
| maplestar did the better romantic scene between fern and stark lol what a boring date since they are stoic characters also fern is hoping for a confession or even kiss thats why she dress up so well i think but she is beautiful this episode dude should have said this out loud to her  |

| An awkward and innocent first date expectedly, Stark's effort made Fern happy at the end and that's what matters. You know a monster is strong when it can tank a clean strike from Stark, no wonder first-class mages are needed in the Northern Plateau.  |

| "what a boring episode.. they both have stern face".. that's the point.. it's two amateur teenagers on their first date.. they are supposed to be awkward as hell.. What a beautiful episode with beautiful fern in it with her new dress.. slay girl! the northern plateau.. man.. the region really is no joke.. 3 days straight without rest and even if they got rest on a condition of killing an A level monster.. the monster fight was short but hyped.. then again.. a consistent pattern for the show.. |

| I think I just realize why I enjoy Frieren so much. This anime has perfect mix of both slice of life and action. In theory, it usually doesn't work but Frieren manage to mix these two so well. |

| So glad they followed up on the date. I would've been disappointed if it happened off-screen or they just moved past it pretending like it was never a thing. Fern has different dresses? Wow. She never wears them. Most of the time, she wears the same or a very similar type of dress. The date was nice. I'm glad Fern didn't reprimand Stark just cause he took ideas from Frieren. Hooray for no unnecessary drama. I also liked the callback to Season 1 with both of them looking at clouds this time. I guess Stark isn't the only child anymore. Frieren looked beautiful with the braids. I wish she'd do different hairstyles sometimes. Also, how did she do twin tails before she had Fern? Did Himmel do it for her? What happened after they split up? They addressed the magical suitcase too finally. I wouldn't have questioned it if this were a video game. It's already obvious it's basically magic. But how does it work actually? Does it have unlimited space like Doraemon's pocket, or does it have limits? I think of it like it has different "pages" that the user can flip through and store different things. Nobody wants to abandon their homeland. It's only natural. The fight scenes were good. But did they fight a demon at the end? Or is it just a monster because it couldn't speak? Anyway, looking forward to the next episode. |
| I'm really disappointed with Stark. If only he could put it in words about how we feels about Fern. She was looking so cute in the dress. Stark could have thrown in some compliments to make her feel happy. He was so focused on following Frieren's date plan that he failed miserably to be himself around her. But Fern was able to appreciate the efforts that Stark had put into to make this date an enjoyable one for her. The monster that they were facing in the Northern Plateau looked so dangerous. It was moving so quick for its size. Stark put his life on the line to help Frieren destroy it and they say that this is only the start, damn. |

@UkRs if youre talking about my comment i did enjoy the episode just that i find the date boring ye they are noobs at it but they are not even that awkward like other anime dates goes they are just stoic as hell plus i do not think they are teenagers anymore at this part of the story last time i check the ages in the wiki they are both in their 20s now
| @deg At this point people should just accept the fact that this is just a stylistic choice of this show. They could've made the characters more expressive like in other more popular anime but it wouldn't really change anything significant. I just think of it as something unique to this series. |

| @deg ehh i wouldn't say stark is stoic. He shows more emotion then other frieren and fern. Even the way he speaks has more emotion lol |
I'm just glad we met our Fern with comically oversized bun quota for the season (and that monster of a burger finally has a worthy rival)  As mundane as looking for a cat might've sounded for a "date" when Frieren first described it, you rarely get memories as warm as finally finding and chasing after it at sunset together. |

| @deg why would i compare him to other characters from different shows? I would only compare to him to other characters from same show isn’t it?And him not saying anything to fern was cuz he was awkward and that was the point of the date, that 2 awkward people are going for date for first time. |
| I quite enjoyed their date, Fern realising that they were only talking about frieren while going to places frieren picked made her disappointed since she was looking forward to it. However she doesn't take it out on him and instead still acknowledges the effort he went through, so I'm glad they were able to share an intimate moment removed of frieren's influence between just the two of them at the end of it. |
| The date was awkward but still cute and I need these two to just become official already lol. The fight against the monster in the second half was great, and like Frieren pointed out, their journey through the Northern lands will give them a good opportunity to improve their teamwork. |

| Another boring episode, nothing that memorable to talk about, the fern/stark ship is not interesting, the fighting scene was decent but a far cry from s1, at this point i wonder where are the nice episodic stories that we had in the first season, something like the boat episode, the blue flower, the cabin,this season has nothing that comes close for now, 6 episodes left and for now i'm not going for more than 6/10. |

| I used to pray for moments like this. To think we would get these two dating and actually addressing their little romance up to this point ("we are dating at last, and yet..." is just such a good a tad bit subtle way of showing how much Fern wanted this to happen). |

NORMAL people live, farm, and raise families in that place? not superhuman folks like Stark? sheeeesh! that looks like END GAME CONTENT! the Lvl 50+ kinds of stuffs that pop up when you're just a few hours away from hitting 'the last boss' encounter! :O i bet Frieren is thinking she needed to somehow keep ahold of that genius priest Sein from S1 and that she also found another front-liner at least as OP as Stark! :O sure, she's got herself and Fern so two kick-arse mages... but she had herself and Himmel and Eisen and Heiter last trip... so one priest and TWO front-liners... plus Himmel had a few spells in his 'hero box of tricks' as well? |

| Peak date, people hating on it, that's what I call "Progress" , after all they're SO inexperienced when it comes to love, so it's natural that it'll be awkward, at least Stark realized that Fern is a girl. WHY is he soo dense, it pmo. Fern ended up smiling, that's what matters, that was so cute ngl. |
