Welp, this is one of those episodes where the past comes back to have effect on the present. It honestly doesn't come as a surprise given how some characters were influenced.

Byaku also needs to be careful where he's sticking his business in other people's path. He seems like the type that gets too hot headed. I think Ange looked better than normal in that dress even if she's more clumsy in it.

Ugh, seriously, another one of those annoying noble brats...

I totally get you, Ange. This noble guy is seriously getting on my nerves too. And to think this whole one-month trip was supposed to be worth it. It's crazy to see how much Ange has changed; all these royals showing up at the ball is pretty wild. Oh, Kasim from the last episode. Honestly, being stuck in there wouldn't be so bad if you get some booze every day. "Treasure your friends..." is good advice, but I have this gut feeling his party didn't make it.

Man, if Ange hears that Miri and the others got to chill with Bel, it's not gonna sit well. Lmao, Yuri still remembers that Ange was on the lookout for a wife for Bel. But, as Marguerite said, Bel's got someone in mind. With what Kasim mentioned earlier, I wouldn't be surprised if Bel's old party and Satie didn't make it. These guys are seriously no joke, giving someone like Bel a hard time. Yet, one battle later, and they're all best buds now, lol. Ange isn't having it with this archduke's son; if you're not Bel, compliments about being beautiful won't fly. Jeez, all these nobles are just a bunch of annoying pricks.

Wonder what the finale has in store. Maybe Bel will show up where Ange is and catch up with Kasim? Who knows.

Ange is being invited to a noble's place and to an event where she is honoured as its star, though to be frank, all nobles like Villard Estogal act the same imprudent personality as their ego. It's clear that she doesn't even put nobles on the same wavelength, though when the daughter Liselotte brought Ange down to the dungeon to see the locked up Kasim, he seems content in his jail cell. Bel coming to find Ange and Mary with registering as an adventurer, the unexpected wit of finding a wife for him is now a known secret, as well as both Charlotte and Byaku being grateful for his save the other day.

Bel coming to find his old comrades of the High Sword King Percival, the elf Satie and Sky Shatterer Kasim, they've already left for their own adventures, and even some have come to challenge Bel for a friendly duel, which his skills do not disappoint. On Ange's side, she has to maintain her etiquette no thanks to Maria supporting her as a disguised maid, especially facing the other brother of Villard, the grand duke's heir Fernand.

It's already the penultimate episode, what's left to behold of the finale? This is still up in the air...

Ange being pampered and having to behave like a noble was amusing for sure.
Belgrieve in Orphen was also a treat, between him learning of Ange wife searching and the cool duel at the end.
Learning about his former party members was pretty interesting too, I guess this Kasim guy will be the finale's villain maybe.

Speaking of, only one episode left, it doesn't seem like a lot to resolve everything that's been hinted so far, I guess only part of it will be.
Still, excited for it!

Man i love the show, I just wish they would balance Angie and Belgrieve’s stories better. Like I know this is adapting the LN so they’re just doing what’s written, but I feel like Belgrieve and reuniting with his party should be the focal point of these episodes rather than this ball with Angie.

Yes, Angie looks gorgeous with her hair done up and in a dress, and it’s really cute seeing her adjust to high society. But, Bel linking up with Kasim, Satie and Percival and just going over the old days and what’s become of their lives now would be even better

On the bright side, Mary is back which is always a plus lol. When she went off on her quest last week I thought that would be the last we saw of her for a while

I bet we’ll see Angie and the nobles really come to a head next week. Also looking forward to Bel fighting

Man, Ange will be pissed to hear that her dad went to Orphen and socialized with her friends without her lol. At least Ange looked lovely in that fancy dress of hers and I hope she sees her dad one more time before this series ends.

I've also been enjoying this show and with 1 episode remaining it seems there's too many open mysteries left unresolved such as Ange's and the new kid Belgrieve adopted origins, Belgrieve's old party members, the various demon lords, etc.

I need more episodes!!!
This story can't end JUST YET in a single season!

Oh, how I love that dress of Ange's, it's so lovely... 🥰🥰🥰 but I'm concerned about her being treated as nothing but a baggage or decoration by those ignorant nobles-mob-characters. I permit Ange to beat them to a pulp!

We also get to see an episode where Belgrieve is being honored as the father (and probably as a trainer) of Ange. I don't know the specifics but Ange made her dad more famous than he could ever want to. That humbleness of his is his strong points in this story.
His battle scenes later were rather unsatisfactory. I need more action from that sparring but they didn't give us any... If this season gave us a 2-cours, we might've gotten some more...

Anyway, this series is still as mellow and interesting as ever, and I like that.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Well it is now confirmed that Bel really was an A or S class adventurer if only he did not get PTSD. With this last episode of the series (and I am kinda skeptic it will get another cour), I wonder how they will do the last episode?

Just one episode left, no idea what to expect.

This was one of the better episodes for me. Looking forward to a dramatic blow-up next week.
I hope the rumors of a second season are true. There are too many plot threads to tie up in one episode.
edit: Wel, there is always the source material.

As things heat up the series closes out for the final stretch of this season.

Hopefully, we'll see its entire runtime. Now that the Red Ogre is out and about.

With how easy it was to introduce entire new blocks of character development. I can see another 12 episodes for certain.

I would be a bit disappointed if they end it all at a rushed 13 episodes.

I do, too. I actually hope they animated the whole series. It's a short series compared to a lot of animes. It's just 11 novels, and that's it.

@Moppit Really? I should hunt it down and read it then. It would be great if they animate it fully though.

You raise a rather interesting point in what we tend to watch with this kind of anime, but from my point of view, the ending was simple but effective. I don't think you need to have a gigantic boss ending with an ending that comes out of nowhere and isn't explained and just makes us ask more questions than we really need to be asking at this point in the story to make a good ending. It's really just a simple first-season ending to wait for the sequel (if there is a sequel 😅 ) but in itself it's not a bad ending because there's no final boss.

Hence my next question, why is there a need for a gigantic final boss?

Heartwarming ending. Charlotte's whole redemption arc was pretty boring as she was an uninteresting character to begin with and kinda better as a villainous child. Started and finished better than expected but lost me for a bit part way through. Solid 7/10, the father-daughter moments were the best parts for the feel good factor and Saint Belgrieve carried this show overall.

I find it really odd that Belgrieve was E rank in the past, even if he only adventured for a short period. Clearly his power level is at least A rank and I doubt he was much weaker during his adventuring days vs his peaceful days at the village. It's not like he would've been hiding his power during his adventure days either right? Given that he does not seem to hide it at all throughout this season. It's just odd that he was unknown aside from Angelina's fake title.

Can't lie, this was a whole episode of nothingness. Apart from the usual "oh so you're the red ogre" and typical noble stuff, the least they could've done was to make sure Kasim does get to know the daughter-father stuff between Ange and Belgrieve.

Also, what happened with that undead stuff and that guy with a hood, who obviously had intentions in continuing those stuffs lol.

Ah yes, here comes the trashy nobles.

Bel-san is humble as ever and Mary's too energetic about her adventuring path, wish she'll join Ange's party in the future.

Though, Byaku's still acting cocky, it's getting a little bit annoying tbh. Mean little brat needs some chara development.
And thus, they lived happily ever after... .

Oooh, Belgrieve is powerful, but why wasn't he recognised back then 🤔, or he became more stronger after he quit adventuring, or back then low ranks are more stronger than what it means now.

😂, he finally got to hear the rumor of him looking for a wife, rumor spread by his daughter Ange 😅
