YANDERE TAMON IS HERE OH MY GOD?? He’s so fucking hot? Utage way stronger than me because I’d fold. I love how they’re not being too cliche with it tho and having Utage just accept all of this. Like she’s clearly not comfortable with how Tamon’s acting and he’s forcing the issue after losing the center competition. It’s going to be interesting to see how this gets resolved! But I did really enjoy seeing him being so aggressive and going into the hottiehara persona, it should be a dream come true for Utage, but again, the context behind it makes it less than ideal for Utage.

Also, this episode really exposed the toxic codependency that Tamon has developed for Utage. It’s clearly started making her uncomfortable too so that will have to change if they’re going to have a serious relationship. They can’t keep putting each other on a pedestal.

The freaking face lick is INSANE tho so I’ll allow the toxicity for a while, I do like seeing Tamon be so down bad tbh.😩😍

Holy... I'm glad they are finally talking about how weird their relationship is. She helped him when he was at his most vulnerable/still is, and he sees her as his savior. Of course he's never going to want to let her go. With these kinds of relationships, the person being saved cannot function without their savior. Clearly demonstrated in this episode by Tamon saying he will off himself if Kinoshita leaves him and also in the cake making scene where he explicitly said Kinoshita leaving him would be "betrayal". I'm glad also that Kinoshita is starting to realize how manipulative Tamon is. She finally noticed that Tamon uses his fake persona to get her to do basically whatever he wants even when it makes her feel uncomfortable like in the cake eating scene and the cake licking scene.

I really hope the story manages to change this toxic relationship they have going into something healthy. This latest episode gives me hope for improvement.

TAMON-KUN HAS A C-SIDE TOO NOW??/hj

his sudden attitude change was certainly something. My man has abandonment or jealousy issues frfr. Also Keito really is reminding me of someone during this episode but I just can't put my finger on it...

Everything worked out for Tamon in the end..even though he lost his place as center, he still managed to win more fans. Utage has unlocked a new face of Tamon. A Possessivehara apart from the usual gloomyhara or ikehara. And a possessive and jealous Tamon seems like a bad news for Utage as she's on the verge of dying due to how close they're becoming lol
Keito seems to be another asshole like Ouri. But at least Ouri respects his fans but the same can't be said for Keito.
Utage's quips are getting funnier with each episode.

Great episode!! I love how the title got more layers for me. I also like obsessed Tamon's red tunel light eye it reminds me of the eye of that Hikaru who died on summer. Lots of red flags tho Kinoshita-san がんばって!!

This felt pretty dark towards the end with Tamon repeatedly and intentionally flipping a switch to manipulate Kinoshita. They have such an insane relationship with each other and it slowly develops into a co-dependency.

"But, I figured you'd be okay with it, Kinoshita-san. Because… You think I'm hot."

THIS EPISODE IS CRAAAZYYY I LOVE IT SO MUCH HOLY SHIT. I Fucking love how creepy it gets, with the change in music and Tamon's behavior being portrayed as invasive and possessive! He gets like this…, kind of mix, where he's still a gloomy person but… is a sharp edge nonetheless.

Because Utage's treatment of him made him so happy… he started feeling a bit entitled to it. He crosses seemingly harmless boundaries, because Utage reveres him as an idol… but it's not harmless. It sets up a worrying and unhealthy principle where Utage's words and consent loose power. There's an inherent power imbalance in their relationship, both as an idol and fan, and as employer and employee.

I'm not saying this is done maliciously or anything, but I find intense emotions like that in fiction amazing~

From the start though, Utage had also profited from their relationship- it's sort of like a real fantasy to be able to spend time/take care of your point of obsession. She tries to keep herself in her place, but it's honest to point out they're both taking advantage of the situation.

What I love is that their relationship to each other is very sweet- I think anyone with low self esteem can appreciate how consistent and firm Utage's love it(without questioning it's nature for the moment). But it being the main/only source of self worth for Tamon, growing accustomed to that is not healthy. And the type of otaku-love Utage has, isn't healthy for an in-person relationship either. The kind of worth each one holds towards the other, unless something changes, isn't on a healthy course for either.

But… they're both sweet, and make each other happy. And we can only hope they can overcome those flaws in the relationship, and have our unrealistically amazing shojou couple~~

Sorry for the ramble LOL I really love what this episode had going on!!! It's so! Cool!

It’s a shame they ignore basic economics with F/ace but at the end of the day, the entertainment industry is another performance based industry (like sports): Tamon had a rough patch and got punished for it. Am really enjoying this sinister turn for Tamon

Things got pretty dark suddenly.

So, Tamon is one of those who can change faces at will, huh? He knew she can't say no to him when he becomes sexyhara, and she knows that too. Damn... And we haven't met the other two remaining members of F/ACE (well, one, sort of. We saw the new leader's colors)

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

@CukieMunster : “Holy... I'm glad they are finally talking about how weird their relationship is.”

Totally agree with this! I loved that the show was already dealing with the mental health struggles of an idol, but their relationship was not *necessarily* healthy from the get go. Although it’s been fun seeing her come to accept Tamon as a person and not just a persona/idol.

But this episode things got really interesting – and really creepy. And I’m excited to see how the story progresses. This episode finally convinced me to pick up the manga.

GHAWD I FORGOT TO BREATHE!!
A bit creeped out, extremely intrigued by the character development, and a bit lightheaded from screaming at some of these interractions!

The only thing I'll say is that it's already getting tiring that the other members are seemingly way worse people than their on stage personas, most idols just wouldn't have that big of a gap.
The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew adaptation is not as great as you remember it being.

@CukieMunster Yesss me too! I'm actually quite surprised they are bringing up their relationship dynamic in a shoujo anime. It's not just there for the lols but actually there's a power difference between the two.

We know as viewers that it will turn out well in the end, but it is such a great plot point for a drama. He's blurred the lines of their relationship from not just a friend but to this person he must keep else he'll die.

Clearly our boy is dealing with some really really bad anxiety that's crossing over into paranoia. Darn, now I kind of wish we'd see this story as a josei drama, cuz then it would totally dive in deep with this kind of psychological drama. <_<

So I'm guessing Keito's real self is some calculating scheming manipulator or something? At least that's what I thought from the glasses and the "according to plan" quote. It also looks like Tamon's interest in Utage escalated to yandere level, and it's not a good look! 😨

I don't really understand why it's so hard for Utage to understand that Tamon might have feelings for her, and she kept thinking maybe there's something wrong with him lol, but I don't like the ending of this episode.. it gave the wrong impression that he can do this to just anyone, but Utage should be the only special one for him.

Anyway, so it looks like 2nd bad guy has surfaced.. I hope he's not after Utage to

I feel like in most anime the attempted autoripperoni scene would be a misunderstanding, but not this one. Tamon getting creepier feels like progress. I swear, if all the other guys end up secretly being little shits... Keito's disdain for idol otaku is understandable, or it would be if he was anything other than an idol.

Another excellent episode, on the baseline of the series!

Utage may be only a hardcore fan of Tamon, but Tamon is crazy about Utage. If she would say yes, he would not think twice marrying her.

Truth be told, Utage is beautiful, cute and kind.

Ok Gloomyhara is kinda blending with hottiehara + some yandere in the mix too? Another side of Tamon I guess this time he's actually B side? Title drop as well.

Also Tamon is actively using/switching to fan service to keep Utage his wow and wow that she noticed it as well.

Also of course following the trend the new leader Keito is totally different from his idol persona as well. Seems he's the calculating type?

I wonder if it'll be the same with the rest as well? Will there be at least one that's not completely fake?

i actually like the route they’re taking here. utage has already been established to be kind of crazy— she has an odd and extreme parasocial thing going on despite knowing tamon irl. she’s super weird, there’s no denying it. but, up until this point, tamon hasn’t been nearly as weird as she has, and in this episode we’re shown that he’s knowingly manipulative so he can keep utage by his side. he’s insanely possessive. now they’re BOTH weird. this makes the series a lot more interesting, and i’m excited to see where it goes!!
