| Damn, Wilk lived his life like a soldier in his past. It was not pretty but unexpected either given the nature of their world Because of his connection with Aspira, it made his character even more interesting. I'm starting to find this season more about character stories than just telling the plot. Aspira is still held captive but her confidence isn't wavering yet. |

| This whole story telling with Tsurumi is being great. Concise, explained perfectly, have props. Wilk takes the spot for most hardcore, maybe. With himself taking out his own face skin out. Tsurumi throwing the bullet to distract, so he can put Wilk's face skin. Perfect misdirection. John Golden Kamuy. |

| I could gush about this episode for so long but I'll just keep it simple and brief. This episode was magnificent and Tsurumi's one bastard yet one amazing character to say the least. The world building, the backstory and emotions (especially with Asirpa after knowing of the reality of who took out Tsurumi's wife), and even the title drop at the end with the curse of the gold, all were brilliant. One of the very best episodes of the season and I can predict year based on how great this is. Will be very fascinating to see how Asirpa will react to this knowing how the Ainu took each other out and how her father was a root cause in all of this (even if the explanation being Tsurumi's can be a little bit exaggerated given its his perspective). Hell, even the fact that Tsurumi was wearing her own father's skin and face was something that would make me lose my shit if I was in her shoes. Tsurumi's an elite tier antagonist and wind-up merchant. This episode was mostly exposition in a singular location at the church but it had me glued to the screen the entire time. |

| Wow, wow, wow, I'm speechless. What an episode! Tsurumi was already one of my favorites from the beginning, but now he's become one of my favorite anime characters of all time. What an exceptional character. An intense nationalism that overrides his feelings and allows him to regain the trust of his subordinates. The patriot man. Whether it's Wilk, Kiroranke, or Tsurumi, they all have valid arguments in their fights. It's all very well done and remains consistent with all the clues scattered throughout the series. I haven't been this hyped for a final season in years.  |

| In a season as stacked as this one, this episode is an absolute masterclass in storytelling and delivery. No matter what you think of him, Tsurumi is one of the most engaging and well written characters in this series. His way of telling both Asirpa and Sofia about Wilk's actions towards the other Ainu, as well as revealing for them about him being the one who shot his wife and daughter, was done extremely well. Even the slight jumpscare of him wearing the skinned mask of Wilk was done with great effect, disturbing as it was. Then, to top it off, he delivered possibly one of the very best title drops I've ever scene. What a perfect way to wrap up the episode in such style! With seven episodes left, I highly look forward to seeing how the story will be wrapped up, especially now knowing more of what Tsurumi's stance is. |

| I’m afraid no other title drop comes close to this one that I’ve seen, I always felt it fit the show because they’re hunting for gold and the Ainu are a big focus, hence “Kamuy”, but Tsurumi’s explanation of it makes it even better, he says it’s an evil god huh, he might be right about that. But maaaaaan what an episode this was, Tsurumi laid it all out for us, how it all went down and what started all of this, this entire golden journey, it feels crazy to finally see what exactly happened to the Ainu that were after the gold, and turns out it wasn’t one particular person that killed them, it was each other, pretty wild reveal. And Tsurumi had a hand in this too, it was the distrust he sewed between them that shattered the little trust they had, but Tsurumi did also say this may not have happened had Wilk been honest from the start, it really is tricky to say who exactly caused it in that case, I guess it’s best to say it was many contributing factors. And it was also revealed why Wilk had the whole no-skin face thing going on, and apparently he did it to himself to fake his own death, that is insanely metal but it wasn’t enough to fool Tsurumi, and then we saw how he ended up at Abashiri Prison and became Noperabo, as well as Kiroranke’s reasoning for killing him, such a tragic tale fully explained at long last. And it was actually Wilk who killed Tsurumi’s wife and daughter? And man that skinface thing was so creepy looking too, was not expecting that lol, but at least after this Tsurumi revealed that revenge and hatred is but a memorial on the roadside compared to his true goals, I’m glad to see he didn’t lose sight of that, it was really relieving to Tsukishima and Koito too from the looks of it (that smile tho lol, is Tsurumi obsessed Koito back?). And Tsurumi even explained why Hijikata’s and Sofia’s plans for the gold won’t work, he does have a convincing argument but I’m still not sure if it’s best in the hands of the 7th Division or not, I guess the default answer for that is always gonna be Sugimoto and Asirpa lol, but it sure would be interesting to see Tsurumi’s ideas come to fruition despite that. And next time I imagine this church party is gonna be crashed, this lore drop arc was really cool but the final stretch for the search for the gold is upon us! |

| 55 episodes for the title drop, made by the best character in the show. LOVED IT. Man this season is being so PEAK! And Tsurumi is such an amazing character. He charms people (audience included) so easily that you end up buying into everything he says. I'm still waiting for the story behind Sugimoto and Kikuta knowing each other! |
