Having blurted out a confession at the beach, Rintaro promises to meet Kaoruko again, this time, at the summer festival, so they can talk properly. When Kaoruko begins recalling the day the two of them first met, Rintaro realizes her memory is not the same as the one he remembers… For the two of them, an unforgettable day is about to begin.

Summer Festival Date was so beautifully conducted with revealing how they met for the 1st time and all
(Emotionally well balanced) now we know how Kaoru got interested in rintarou in the first place 🤩.
That Curtain scene from the first episode is now fully completed she is so cute 😍 and adorable.
We want Season 2 at the earliest 🍀.
Score 10/10 (without any doubts).

Special Movie Video upon completion:-

Considering the naturally slower pace of this show, I actually didn’t expect us to jump straight into the festival like that. Not complaining though, it just gives us more time to see Waguri in her lovely yukata, so all’s well ofc. Though, we know why we’re here… picking up where we left off last time, confession time. And wasting no time, Rintaoru just says the simple words: “I love you.” His reasons are nothing short of genuine as he lays them out for Waguri. Sweet and genuine, the Rintaoru special.

Waguri knows all too well that he’s always been this sweet and genuine person. That’s how they first met after all, not in episode one, but way further back. Even further back than that, Rintaoru was always someone who reached out to Waguri and helped her, almost the reverse of how things are in the present. At first glance, that’s true. We’ve been in Rintarou’s POV this whole time, but now seeing things from Waguri’s perspective, we realize they both equally helped each other into a light neither had seen before. Seeing everything from her POV really changes a lot, really glad they showed us her side and didn’t just stick with Rintarou.

It’s THEIR romance after all; we need to know how both of them feel. And the way they feel is nothing short of mutual love for each other... though, we’ve known that from the start, haven’t we :) Which leads us back to the present, where would ya know it, the feelings mutual, as we've know xD

Man, I could dissect this finale for how perfect it is in every aspect, but then I’d have to dissect the whole show for how perfect it’s been from start to finish… and from here, it’ll only get better. We’ve barely reached the tip of the iceberg, much more is to come, and I’ll be here waiting for that day.

You know, if Kaoruko actually wanted to reject Rintarou, she had about fifty golden chances already, heck, even that phone call would’ve done the job. But nah, this ain’t that kind of series. The universe basically had their relationship written in bold letters, so of course they’d end up together. I mean, they were already on a festival date before even calling it official. I hope these two must have realized that xD

Visually though, gotta hand it to Cloverworks. Been said multiple times already, but holding up quality for all 13 episodes is no joke. Yeah, they’ll never wash away the stain of Promised Neverland S2 (no detergent that strong exists), but credit where it’s due… they’ve been solid since. Even the small stuffs like that bench talk, which holds a hell lot of relevance context wise btw, could’ve easily been fast forwarded or something but yeah, I liked the work which went behind it.

Rest of the episode was just Kaoruko fangirling over Rintarou. Sometimes this series nails the vibe, sometimes the drama feels like a wet paper bag, or it would going ahead. Still, they at least gave a halfway decent reason for Kaoruko’s obsession lol. Was a good run overall. Hyped to the heavens, sure, but we all know a season 2 will come.

Waited the entire season for this episode. We finally got to see how it happened from Kaoruko. Girl was so in love. She's so damn adorable. And it's official, they are together. Kaoruko confessed. I was so overjoyed when I read this chapter and the adaptation was perfection.

Literal Angel.

They look so cute together.

Props to cloverworks for the beautiful adaptation. This had eye candy visuals. Honoka Inoue, the seiyuu for Kaoruko was also absolute perfection. Such gentle, warm and cute voice. Really enjoyed this and looking forward to s2.

“And it’s all because I met you” thank you so much Cloverworks for doing this adaptation justice. No OP this week, no bs, not running from the confession last week, but doubling down and confirming they feel the same way about each other. That’s why this series is so beloved because it’s simple and straight to the point. No drawn out misunderstandings to sell more manga volumes, just two people who encourage and love each other with all their heart while helping each other to grow. Isn’t it nice to have series where your leads are together after one cour and you get to focus on them growing as a couple and people?!

Kaoruko looked sooo cute in her Yukata, I could cry!! Rintaro a better man than I because I would’ve been stuttering like a mf lol. The fact he gritted his teeth and just reaffirmed how he feels just shows why he’s such a great lead. Here’s a guy who had no friends or reason to leave the house just a year ago, and now he’s able to do this! Kaoruko and the boys deserve a lot of credit, but Rintaro had to take that first step and I’m so glad he did.

Speaking of first steps, the Kaoruko flashback hit at the perfect time because it addresses one of the biggest criticisms about this series in the early going, that Kaoruko just fell in love with Rintaro and it’s wish fulfilment. don’t get me wrong there’s a lot of convenience in the story, it’s a shonen at the end of the day, but Rintaro was putting in work and bringing joy to her life without ever knowing it. It’s because he’s the sort of person to be kind and help someone who’s down that she fell in love with him, the fact he would’ve done the same thing for anyone just shows truly wonderful a guy he is. Everyone talks about Kaoruko being such an amazing catch, but Rintaro has given her just as much as she’s given him!

I couldn’t help but laugh when Kaoruko found out Rintaro was her same age, the fact she was willing to make a move on him even if he were an adult is funny af. Also, it’s really fitting she finally got to meet and talk him the one time she didn’t have her hair and makeup done, he got to see her just as she is and still fell for her, true love.

“I love you too Rintaro-kun” ahhhh I can’t, this entire ending was just perfect, the credit roll as well. These lovebirds’ story is just getting started and I hope we get to see more of it animated because there’s so much more to this story. Phenomenal job from Cloverworks bringing this to life 🙏🏾

Man, this was just fantastic! Kaoruko-chan's sudden Chidori visit when looking back now just goes to show how excited she was that she forgot about the problems and solely was too interested in Rinatou-kun, how wonderful is that. I kept thinking back to the great pure romance while watching this (the likes of Kimi no Todoke, Akagami Shirayuki-hime, etc.) to see where this'd line up with them and while I don't have the answer to that yet, just the fact that it's in the same line of thought for me is saying something!

When that ED dropped, I honestly wanted to shout out because I knew that'd be the end but phew, this was something else! I'm curious though, did Rintarou-kun's mother figure out her feelings? Looking at the recollection scene this episode, it does seem natural to think of that but she probably doesn't want to pressure the two so I guess we won't know until the news breaks out anyway.

Rintarou not remembering their first ever conversation though. Understandable since it's implied she's changed her appearance a lot but I'm sure that'll be kicking him a lot in the gut in his free time xD. Good luck remembering, my man.

I like how the ep focused 100% on the two except for the special ED. And hats off to CloverWorks! Three bangers. I'm going to miss my Saturday CloverWorks nights, god damn it. I did fall behind on Seishun Buta Yarou a month ago though, so I'll make amends of that asap, lol.

There honestly better be a S2. But, I'm still catching up to the manga, fudge it. Too good! Strong 9/10.

I loved the visuals and music, but what struck me most was the way the characters support each other. Their school friendships feel so pure and selfless — almost like a fantasy compared to real life, where that kind of kindness at school is rare. Maybe that was the author’s point, creating an ideal friendship we don’t often experience ourselves.

And it all ends at the confession and start of their new relationship. Like nearly every romance anime ever. And not so much as a hug. So unfulfilling to be completely honest. Can we for once actually have the relationship start partway through so we can see them after they start dating too?

Great anime, very cute and endearing; some seriously awkward moments for no reason and the school rivalry was nonsensical. The ending left a lot to be desired. 7.5/10, would love a second season if they were brave enough.

Man I did like this rom com at all to the point I find the current score insulting to rate this as high as “Bocchi”, “Cowboy Bebop”, “Dangers in my Heart” is absolutely ridiculous. The main problem with this series as many MANY people have pointed out is the lack of substance everything from the plot to the characters lacks depth.

After reading the manga (Yes I was an idiot and got caught up in the hype) I respect that the author wanted to create a straightforward wholesome rom com in an otherwise over saturated genre but I don’t think what they made is very good. A lot of the stupid drama in this series feels very awkward and out of place it kinda makes me think that’s the stuff her editors forced into the story. In fact about halfway through the manga the drama gets dropped completely and all of sudden it’s wholesome goodie times for 100 chapters yes you read that right this series has 160~ CHAPTERS WTF. One of the main reasons I think this never took off before the anime was because of how repetitive and boring it gets after the confession.

Look I get the world is depressing right now I get that people want wholesome stuff but without the negative parts of life the happy moments just feel so hollow. This’ll get a second season for sure but I won’t be tuning in and I certainly know I won’t be alone.

And so we end with a summer festival confession and details regarding their true first meeting.

Well it just goes to show how well I've been paying attention when I honestly thought they were already dating going on back to that aquarium date. But whatever, this was nice too, and the romance itself was never what I liked best about this anyway. It wasn't a bad romance. It was fine, serviceable, but Rintaro's relationship with his friends and family were easily my favorite thing about this show. When we hit that batch of episodes is when I felt it was at its best. Maybe with more time to grow in a season 2 we might even see his older brother or whoever that one dude was in the flashback. 7/10.

Perfect wrap up episode to this cour. This pretty much won over instantly with it's beautiful art direction and character expressions. Loveable cast of characters, especially Rintarou's mom was a whole W. And so many emotional moments. It's crazy how this series only got even better in these last couple of episodes.

Not just simply the best romance this season, but also AOTS.

The manga is high on my priority list now.

One of the most overrated anime I’ve seen. Ok, I’m not exactly the target audience nor I watch a lot of romance series (tho I watch some every season), but I still can pinpoint a few obvious things.

First of all yes, the art is good, almost great, and to be honest the whole production is quite well. Big props to cloverworks. But at the same time, it’s not like directing was anything worth mentioning, and it doesn’t have any cool animation scenes or fresh/original shots. The show is really only good for stills (it’s still way better than Seishun Buta).

Second, and the biggest problem, are guys in the show. Idk, does anyone feel like author never had a normal conversation with the boy? Ok, jokes aside, I understand it’s not true(right?!), but that only makes it worse. This shit is unbelievable. Guys relations are so unrealistic, it looks artificial. I guess it’s to be expected from assistant of Wind Breaker author lol.

Third is plainness over everything. The plot is so basic, so straightforward, you can imagine the whole story from ep1 and won’t have a mistake. Even the ending revelation about Rintarou saving Kaoruko was by the book standard, that I kinda got confused at the scene.

To end a story of my impressions, I need to mention, that I admit — this show is by no means bad. Maybe it’s just not my cup of tea. I also understand the root of its popularity. Kaoru Hana is so typical and so conventional as it hits all the bases of averageness, that it somehow make all romance fans to like it. Literary nothing felt forced in the story(except for Subaru) and nothing crossed the line of originality. It is basically the most safe romance anime with zero big downsides, and that’s what makes it a mainstream hit.

As for me, 5/10. Probably deserve a 6, but with mal 8,72 rate? Doesn’t deserve it.

8.72???? hell nah it ain't that good
even dandadan got 8.52
and we all know what's better ,these manga glazer need to stop
on surface it might look good but deep down its just a story of boy who doesn't felt loved and a girl who loves him and don't get me started on the "Thank you" "Sorry" it's literally one-third of episode of them saying these two words

5:55 RINTARO CONFESSED AGAIN! 🙌🏻😯 WELL SAID BOY! 👏🏻

Damn, Kaoruko and Rintaro actually met before and of course in typical anime fashion, Rintaro doesn’t remember 😅

11:10 AND KAORUKO CONFESSES BACK! 🙌🏻

14:00 Bruh Kaoruko was eyeing out Rintaro that whole fucking time 🤣 crazy. So cute.

Definitely the most wholesome and heartwarming romance anime this season 🤣🙌🏻 my heart every single episode man. Like Dangers In My Heart all over again. So happy we got the confession in one season and didn’t have to wait multiple seasons 🤣 Rintaro and Kaoruko are definitely among the top best anime couples now. So happy they both built up the courage to confess. We were watching through Rintaro’s POV mainly, so it was very nice hearing Kaoruko’s POV now. Very grateful for my classmate and cousin for recommending this to me 🙏🏻 so where season 2 at? 🤣

PERFECT. Just perfect. There isn't a single thing of this entire season I would change: not a frame, not a scene, not a dialogue, not even a silence. Rintaro and Kaoruko are my absolute favorite couple of this season and i'm saying this being a huge fan of Sonno Bisque Doll also. By a mile they're the best. Had never felt so taken by the chemistry of two fictional people before. Rintaro gotta be just the best male MC at the moment, what a display of POSITIVE masculinity. Not because he's perfect but because he is willing to learn how to be like that. And GOD does he learn. Kaoruko on the other hand is a force of nature of her own and this episode cemented that for me with all the flashbacks fro her pov. What a brave and pure girl she always has been.

As its stands this season its satisfying on itself but OF COURSE I WANT A SEQUEL.

Looking forward with hope to see second season of their story, because anime always tend to end when main characters become a pair...

Art was perfect, also many buildings and streets which I always love to see in anime.
OP and ED were fit for this type of anime, but not exactly my style.

Liked interactions with other characters.

This show is actually the purest show I have ever had the pleasure of watching. In fact, I sometimes refer to it as the Hallmark of anime haha
Each episode had me smiling like a fool in love. And honestly? I was in love. In love with the natural pacing, the logical conversations, the mature attitudes, the refreshing and utter lack of any fan service whatsoever. The fan service was getting to see Kaoruko smile every episode. A young woman's smile is an absolute treasure. Always has been to me.

I'd wipe my memory to experience this show again. I nearly started crying as we got to the end. It was all too beautiful.
The backstory was especially magnificent, because I wasn't expecting it.

I look forward to seeing this story grow, and I might just pick up the manga. 3 months well invested in this show. I hope for a speedy return.

Final episode. Yeah, thankfully I can confirm that this anime is the second (or third) best shounen romance anime I have ever watched. I still have season 2 of The Dangers in My Heart as the best for now and You and I are Polar Opposites will probably change my whole ranking when it debuts in January, but this anime is definitely in my top 5. Waguri has to the strongest female lead in any shounen romance in terms of emotional strength—and it makes sense given all the character development she went through before the story even began. Really hope we get that season 2 announcement soon.

Is it just me, or did it feel like Cloverworks tried to pass this off as an acceptable ending to the adaptation? just got the vibe that they don't plan on adapting it further, and considering that there hasn't been a season 2 announcement (while Buta Yarou got one right away) has got me kind of suspecting that it might be the case.

I'm probably gonna pick up the manga at some point either way, but I would love to see a romance manga be adapted past the confession, and actually get to see some heartwarming time together, as well as the further development of the other characters.
