Obey Your Master seems like such a threat lol.
Acts like very loose and friendly but gives off a threatening aura.

"I can't let you have this"
"I DON'T UNDERSTAND ENGLISH"
LOL, idk why, but just Oguri's response of not being able to understand English while it's a serious moment is very funny.

What a cliffhanger, curious to see what happens with Obey Your Master at the very end to freak Tama out like that.

Musaka, this is your fault. You should’ve told Oguri that foreign Umamusume tend to play rough in races. Also, how the hell did Belno, who loves doing research, not look into something this basic?

Seriously, what the hell is Musaka even doing? All he does is make constant jokes about his name instead of actually explaining the cultural differences of each runner to Oguri.
It’s literally his job, damn it.

The most dynamic and chaotic race so far for sure. Oguri goes pace chasing, Tama goes late surger mid race, Tony Bin somehow blends into the background for the most part despite being a great threat, partisan crowd and biased commentators! I liked the new electro-percussive tracks used throughout the match.

Chiyono shouting "rough play?!" made me chuckle, blame my dirty mind. Pretty much odd that no one warned them of such shenanigans. And when it happens, suddenly everyone knows about it. At least they could have gone "here it is!" and find dealing with it first time on the track is something mere planning won't be able to easily overcome. Still curious about Roppei's plan.

I am interested in Gold City showing her true colors, obviously she's close to her retirement, but will we have a closure to her character? I did'nt like what they did with Sirius Symboli, totally missing out on exploring her tragedy. CG gets tunnel visioned sometimes, and that is it's biggest flaw.

Tama chan is grumpy and giving death stares, which is far more fitting considering the real horse.

Michelle My Bruiser is likely losing some fans with this one XD

Can Obey chan be called a gyaru? She's really the type to "know your enemies better than your friends". Would have liked some interaction with Oguri, surprised there was none. I am hoping at the end there will be a farewell party where everyone gets to interact with each other. It would also be funny if they show Bianca being a softie; the real horse was derpy enough let humans play with his tongue.

If I got my facts right, Japan Cup has been conquered in the last two decades by the Japanese, with no foreigners being able to beat them. Things were different in the times of Symboli, Oguri or even Teio (will not forgive S2 for skipping that race!). The arrival of Sunday Silence changed things. Of course, there are outlier freaks like T.M. Opera O.

Assuming next ep finishes this race before the second break, we are probably going to get a Obey Your Master flashback.

Nice to have the horses back after a break, although I think we got another break coming at some point too. Unfortunately tho, this wasn’t a perfect episode, my hype was pretty high for this Japan Cup race but the reveal that foreign horses like to get physical to get their positions was done badly imo, it took me out of it a bit because no one thought to tell Oguri about such important info that apparently everyone knew about besides her. I understand that in real life, you can’t tell a horse that foreign horses are gonna race differently than it’s used to, but since this isn’t real life horses, it just kinda feels bad imo.

That aside, I did like the showcase of the foreign horses in the race, Michelle My Baby probably lost some fans with her display but not me lol, I’m not gonna hate a horse girl because her culture is different, the “I don’t know English” bit from Oguri was good too lol. Then of course you have Obey Your Master, she likes to play mind games it seems with her interactions with Tamamo Cross, but based on the last moment of the episode, it looks like she also knows how to reach “The Zone”, the scene was pretty sick with her eye appearing through the broken glass, kinda spooky even. We got a cliffhanger here with that moment and Oguri Cap in rough shape after being tossed around and changing up styles right before a race, but the winner could still be anyone.

Japan Cup just begin and the representatives from Japan really got pressured hard by the internationals. Looks like some of them are equipped with debuff and field of view skills lmao. Tony Bin observing from the middle of the packwas either use Studios or Bigger Picturr skill. While Michelle My Baby looking real menacing to Oguri was probably using Murmur. It's also evident that Oguri got "flustered pace chasers" by her halfway through the race and she also hasn't learned Gourmand skill. Nah all she care about is just eating and regular practice. I don't see her ever do any stamina training at all before this race. Lastly Obey Your Master come near to the front by the final corner with the hesistant pace chaser skill towards Tamamo Cross by the end of the episode. Wild Joker, wonder whose character design with such star eyed design uma as the title character for the next episode.

Well, yeah... it's natural to feel some resentment toward Michel. As Roppei said, this really highlights a kind of "cultural difference" in how each racing world approaches the sport.

In the U.S., races often turn into battles of endurance, with horses breaking into near-top speed right from the start, and the exhausted ones dropping away one by one. Secretariat's Belmont Stakes and, more recently, Flightline's Breeders' Cup Classic are classic examples. In both cases, rivals like Sham and Life Is Good pushed them early on, burned out, and faded, producing fierce, attritional contests.
As for bumping and physical contact, the American side tends to be more lenient. Some of you might have watched the replay of Journalism's Preakness Stakes, the horse who ran in today's BC Classic. While being heavily pressed from both sides, he muscled his way through and won... a kind of raw, physical running style you rarely see elsewhere.

In contrast, European racing is far stricter about interference. Contact is minimal, but the fields stay tightly packed, demanding almost surgical precision in the reins. If a horse loses patience and bolts out of the pack, it becomes an instant target for others and is quickly run down. You often see Japanese horses go to the front or make an early move in races like the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, which is exactly what European horses are waiting for.
In both Europe and the U.S., it's common to use "rabbits"(less capable horses owned or trained by the same connections) as pace-setters for the main contender. But in JRA and NAR systems, where fair betting is a governing principle and every horse is expected to "run to win," such tactics bring heavy penalties.

All in all, Japanese racing is probably more "well-mannered" compared to other countries. Is true strength measured by pure speed alone, or by the ability to push through interference and chaos? These different philosophies collide in international invitation races, where many worlds mix together.
And… OYM-chan, your stare look scary!

To Michelle my Cunt ..."Neko Neko Neko" Calstone Light O (iykyk)

Why not one said anything to Oguri about this Roppei is throwing. Idk if it will work out or not but increase of 400m + the most stamina demanding position is not the best tactics especially now.
Tony Bianca & Obey your master was perfect in their positioning but if anything Oguri's just back fired she is a position "now" where she normally would be.

Gold City is kinda under rader but she doesn't have the worst postion either. I am rooting for her maybe she can somehow pulls of a shocker (probably not).

Tama chan meanwhile showing a masterclass of end closer tactics. Her white lightning always look brilliant. But damn that freak has got her unnerved and is looking dangerous..

Brutal cliffhanger..

Only late race is remaining but it will drag for two episode hopefully it is executed better than Tenno sho. Can Fatguri make a comeback? Can Tama hold on or Obey your master gonna pull a huge upset. As long as it isn't Tony/Michelle I am fine..

Also any amount of Mommy Creek cuteness is appreciated thanks Cygames🫡

Poor Oguri Cap got a rough reality check as to how other international Uma's race. Seeing her getting roughed up by Michelle My Baby wasn't an easy watch, admittedly. While she's still within a chance, I don't think she'll have enough to get the result that she wanted. The gamble of being a pace chaser looks to have backfired if things stay the way they are currently. =(

As for Tamamo Cross, she was also having a difficult time, but not to the extent that Oguri was going through, although seeing Oguri's knackered condition did shock her. Tamamo's move to get ahead of the pack here was a good one, but Obey Your Master has anticipated that all along. The last scene of the episode when Tamamo realised that was done really well to emphasize the brutally of the cliffhanger.

I don't want Obey Your Master to win, but you can't deny that her chances of winning this race is increasing at an alarming rate. I look forward to seeing how this race will finish up next time.

Really liked today's episode. Nice balance between funny and serious moments. The OP so far hasn't really grown much into me as the previous one still.

I didn't expect them to split the race into two episodes...leaving the homestretch as a cliffhanger is such a tease... I am worried for Oguri Cap! Can't wait to see what Obey Your Master pulls off in the next episode!

man, oguri cap just getting completely fucked up by michelle my baby :sob: as much as i love oguri tho it was very exciting, i already love these new characters so much, and since they probably won't be around for very long since they're from overseas i love seeing them get a chance to shine! i'm so sad michelle my baby and obey your master will never be in the game...

speaking of obey your master, i had a feeling she was going to pull off some crazy shit at this race, given how sinister her vibes were, but OH MY GOD??? that cliffhanger... waiting another week is gonna be torture... she's so fucking cool and off-putting though, she's definitely my favorite character of this arc. can't wait to see if she manages to get ahead of tamamo cross!!

Oguri doesn't stand a chance this time. And Tama? Well... She was probably hearing American things when she started speeding up.

It feels so wrong not to consider Oguri in this race. After all, we're just starting part 2 of this anime, and it might be too soon for the beast to be completely monstrous. It is called Cinderella Gray for a reason; she will definitely beat everyone in some spectacular way in the future, hopefully.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

Best ep of the 2nd cour easily, though next week could still top it. Oguri & Tama finding out they’re not the only monsters on the track. Only thing missing is I find it hard to believe that Norn & the other former bullies aren’t watching the race. Would’ve been funny to see them get PO’d over the foreigners’ rough tactics.

Even foreign uma musume are rude in Japan! Jokes aside, if the race isn't stopped, then it's fair play I guess. Poor Oguri, she gets hit by a freaking 195 cm bulldozer a couple times. I didn't realize this before, but Obey Your Master is also tall af. I knew she wasn't the small type like Bellno, but she's huge!

Like I mentioned in the last ep thread... these "English" UMAs seems to be a lot older than the Tracen Academy UMAs.

Also... they made Gold City look somewhat nice here. Whereas in the game... she's considered one of the weakest UMAs (trainee)...

.

Also also... I thought it was illegal for UMAs to purposedly bump into each other?

I remember McQueen got disqualified for purposedly getting close to other UMAS when changing lanes...

So they're just going to let this slide?

WTF... THIS IS RETARDED

JAPAN... so follow Japan's rules... so retarded.

If they let this go, why did they even disqualify McQueen for? McQueen didn't even physically touch anyone either. GIVE BACK MCQUEEN'S WIN YOU FUCKS.

.

I am not even hyped about the next episode because of this.

Michelle My Baby bumping to Oguri Cap is obviously exaggerated in the anime. In real life, it only counts as "minor bumping and is unavoidable".

McQueen however made an aggressive early move inward toward the inside rail for a better position. This is a high-risk strategy because it can lead to falls, injuries, or chain reactions.

@amlg that's not how disqualification works. You have to block the horse(s) behind. Which is what McQueen allegedly did

This change of strategy for Oguri wasn't good; our coach didn't take the jostling into account either.
Although I imagine, as some have said, that their collision is exaggerated in the anime
