Boshaft is actually a great name for a liquor, especially if it's strong and tastes terrible.

Frieren should send Serie a letter letting her know that it took her 3 months to break this barrier and only a day to break hers. Just to keep in touch
@benren
Haha! That would probably cause the equivalent to a nuclear war in that world!

Speaking of which, Fern was about to do something similar before Frieren got freed. I think that Frieren finding the massive silver deposit as well as agreeing to kill a demon or 2 is more than fair to pay off her debt which I wonder what her or her party did or buy to have it in the first place.

Another amazing Frieren episode, as expected from these series.

I personally liked the 1st part more than the 2nd one though, since I think the story of that half was more emotional and meaningful. Spending 200 years searching for a liquor that is said to be the best one ever created, just to find out it was actually horrible (and that idea was falsely created by Millarde, a bored Elf) could mean that that person's life would be meaningless and all that work was for nothing, but it wasn't the case honestly. In the end, they had a good time with the villagers, and for that moment of fun, the struggle was worth. Once again, Frieren is reminding us of how the best things in life are these amusing memories we make with others, so it was never to be regretful that the liquor actually tasted bad.
It was also quite funny how Stark and Fern were like "We need to help him, 3 months isn't even anything" when they heard the price he was able to pay.
It was also quite interesting how Frieren didn't want to help him, because she didn't want him (and Heiter for that matter) to get disappointed by the final outcome.

With this side quest, 3 months have passed, and we finally have the "30 years after the Hero Himmel died" line. I really like how this anime isn't afraid to make time flow. It has been 2 years already since Stark joined Fern and Frieren.

The 2nd half was also really interesting, with that merchant using that "debt" from Frieren to just make her help them, without having to own her anything in the end too. I think it was a good deal for Frieren, but I was worried for her for a moment, spending 300 years in the mines isn't for everyone! I was really getting a bit frustrated towards that merchant if he really was expecting Frieren to pay that debt, like, c'mon, Frieren and her party killed the Demon King, you should be thankful for that, but after his explanation, it just turned into a funny situation, especially with how Stark and Fern were ready to rescue Frieren from the mines (but Stark wasn't liking the idea that much xD). It was quite a funny episode overall, but not that sentimental, which ended up fitting well with the first half. But I do have to say the episode ended a bit abruptly, I didn't really understand how long it took Frieren and the miners to find the silver ore, it seems like it was only a day though, but it's unusual for this anime to not be more explicit in that aspect.

Anyways, a really well done episode, again. It seems next episode we are starting the new arc everyone was saying was going to get adapted this season, I'm really excited for that. We did have a good amount of more "slice-of-life" episodes this season, but considering the 1st season ended with a arc that took basically a whole cour, it was to be expected.
And it seems next week we aren't getting Frieren! Not getting my weekly dose of Frieren is going to be hard, especially in such a busy period, but ok, I think I'm going to survive 1 week without Frieren.

To end this post, just a quick reminder that they didn't need to go this hard animating a scene where Frieren was only using a spell to find the silver ore xD

Finally, 30 years after Himmel's death. I like how this was like nothing in the anime. Just like another area unlocked in RPG and nothing more.

Another relaxing episode with some mining.

Baba gettign carried again.

Millarde putting another interesting statement infront of frieren.

Also introducing another good character who worked toward the betterment of humanity and helped the heroes.

But frieren anyways had to work hard to pay of the 80 year old debt xD

The last panel with them finding the silver was gorgeous and wholesome.

Good ep

Milliarde so fine.

This series loves teaching us new things abt time and the idea of sacrifice.

Might as well eat bricks instead of bread, with that loud ass clunk.

LMAO, Frieren's meme face.

Daily Frieren expanding on the source material and making it more than it seems, lol.

Finally, the most important arc of this cour is here. Sadly, there's a break next week.

This ep adapted ch 69-70.

So Fass dedicated a large portion of his life to finding some bad liquor because an elf lied about it for shits and giggles, or more like no reason at all. Honestly, I wouldn’t even be mad lol, and Fass still found himself having a great night with the liquor despite it being bad, I’m glad he could laugh it off like that, just like Heiter said in that flashback.

And the second half of the episode featured Frieren quitting her journey to play Minecraft basically, imagine if it actually ended like this lol, but nah Norm wasn’t being that ridiculous thankfully, it was actually for a really good cause since the trading company was close to going under and that could lead to starvation of many in the Northern Plateau, so Frieren’s appearance really changed everything. And the debt was easily paid off when she found that silver deposit (which was a really cool looking scene), so thankfully Fern and Stark didn’t need to bust Frieren out of the mines like they were planning lol, and now the Norm Company gets to live on and prosper once again, nice little side quest that made a big impact.

And there’s no new episode next week from the looks of it, both this and JJK huh, but hey it’s apparently the start of an arc so that’s cool, I was thinking this might be a completely SoL season at first, and I would’ve been fine with that, but it’s good to know we’re gonna get some good plot action soon, hard to believe we’re halfway done with the season already tho, feels like it just started lol.

The scene where they eat bread made me a bit sad xD

They're complaining it's tough, but they have a stew right next to them.

Just make the bread soak in the stew for a minute and eat it together.

The way Frieren's elf friend trolled the poor dwarf was hilarious. But it was a good and healthy reaction to laugh at having achieved a goal that was very dear to him and to which he dedicated a lot of time and effort, only to get a disappointing result. I love the good advice that some anime give, like Frieren.

ROFLMAO. That Elf trolled everyone, that booze was actually awful! And here people, including the dwarf thought it was the best! Best practical joke EVER.
Frieren becoming an indentured Miner, even for a short time was kind of funny too, but hey she found the silver vein right away.

I love how the anime has different solutions other than combat to resolve situations. Case in poin this episode. This is a perfect example of how wisdom comes with age. And frieren has a lot of age to accompany that wisdom.

They got pretty creative with Frieren finding the silver in the mines. In the manga she just point at a wall after floating.

Also we got to the end of the SoL stuff for a bit, in two weeks we get the Divine Revolte arc.

So some elves are really trolls? Could have saved that guy from disappointment and wasting his life 80 years ago, if she just told him the truth. If they defeated the demon lord why are their still so many demons menacing everyone? Aren't there new heroes killing them? Seems like since Frieren's party everyone got lazy.

I like how frieren get's worried about fern and stark waiting for too long. It shows that she developed as a character, while in earlier episodes she was very indifferent with time passing, she actually shows much more empathy now. It's tiny things like these that make the show great imo.

At least after that it looks like we'll be getting some actual plot and development.

Honestly the flashback with Heiter and Frieren gesturing everyone to drink the bad wine to laugh it off touched my heart so much. Its so simple right? Appreciate the little things and laugh off life with friends. Yet it's also something so difficult to achieve in today's fast paced internet world.

how is it that the art quality went up only after so bad art in first 3 episodes?

also i dislike the idea of the plot giving them 20 gold coins then taking everything away..
also the first thing she should do is fight them not get herself locked..
and that merchant rules should start with how he talked with her in mines and not send her there by force.. come on.. who in the right mind would threaten the strongest mage in world with prison..

The trading company will bounce back not only because they found silver but also because Frieren took out the demon that was killing the company caravans.

It's amazing how actions done in some places can influence future events elsewhere.

Another nice slice-of-life episode.

There's nothing I want to talk about other than Frieren being one of the most consistent anime in many aspects. I liked the comedy in this episode the most.

The next episode seems to be more serious, and it looks like it will enter a new arc?

So many interesting tidbits.

1. Didn't know their were countryside and urban dwarves.
2. Milliarde refused to acknowledge her pursuit was a goose chase and chose instead to go into denial.
3. Frieren entertains Faas despite knowing this.
4. The sparse populations of the north makes upkeep for infrastructure and institution prohibitively expensive.
5. Compound interest is powerful.

They could just have asked them to help explore the mine to get rid of the debt but ok, that's how the story went and as always, Frieren being who she is shrugs off the convict treatment and gets to work.

And yes, Fass making everyone drink that beer was hilarious ;)

That bread is very clearly hardtack or something very similar.
From historical accounts and videos I've seen on the topic, hardtack is basically inedible when dry and you'd risk damaging your teeth if you tried to eat those bricks made of flour.
So if you didn't have soup or a dish with sauce to dunk the hardtack in to soften it, you'd soak it in water instead.

Another great episode. I love the concept of the boshaft tasting terrible. How you can search for something for years and years and youll just be dissapointed. The best treasures arent things, theyre the memories you make along the way.

Frieren needing to work in a mine for THREE HUNDRED years for a debt from 80 years ago is funny. Like bro just wanted some money.

Sad we wont get an ep next week
