Welp so it went with a happy yet predictable ending with Rena finally being able to grow up. Cute imo.

I would've been happier with a 3P ending...but this is the next best thing.

Man, 3 years of following this manga has finally paid off. Months of no one scanlating it. Having to wait forever to get it picked up again and loving every step of it and now here we are.

What can I say when there is so much to say? I guess I'll just boil it down to, I loved it. This series served as a huge character study of these 3 main characters. It was always interesting to read, it was funny when it needed to be and it was touching and heartwarming as well. It was a great manga.

I felt like there was a bit of an asspull with that vaccine but it served for more than just saving Rena, and helped give her the last bit of development she needed. I don't know whether Aigawa was permanently put into that wheelchair. It felt like the ending was a bit rushed, but I'll ignore it. It didn't seem like the story was going anywhere towards the last few chapters and the mangaka just wanted to end it.

What a pleasure to read.

Now, I'm just waiting for waiting for Rainbow Balls and Kono S to get scanlated.
I'm also filled with pure-hearted ulterior motives.

That was great. 9/10 story.

Not sure if she broke up with that guy she met in Canada though? Or is that implied....it should be, right?

Loved this manga so much but I'm very disappointed with the ending. Everything felt so rushed in the last chapter. The lack of drama and emotion at the end compared to the extreme struggles that Rena was facing for so many chapters really did not do it for me. Maybe if Agawa had a true and detailed character shift while unconscious it would be more satisfying but just waking up with a complete change of opinion that goes against what was said throughout much of the story feels a bit pointless.

Also, I feel like the vaccine was such a cop out. Sure, I'm glad that Rena ended up having a different route for her life but after all that she went through and the fact that her relationship with Agawa and Asou was so dear to her it seems so silly that she would just accept moving away so easily.

Then they mentioned she found a love interest at the end yet she still comes back to Japan after 10 years without said lover and is instead easily accepted back into the relationship that she was just pushed away from. The events that happened over those years easily could have made at least a few more chapters and would have finished rounding off all of the characters and would have made it so much more satisfying in my opinion.

I really wish the ending wasn't so rushed. I feel like there was a lot more character progression and plot points that could have happened to make this a truly worthwhile ending. So many avenues left unexplored. Though, dispite my issues with the ending, I still found this manga very enjoyable overall and do feel like it might be worth re-reading again in the future.

man what is it with mangakas and their lousy endings? it always seems its a hit or miss with romance manga endings. Overall i liked the story as a whole but the last chapters felt very rushed to me.

Throughout the whole story i was rooting for some miracle where Rena and Agawa would end up together, not that i had a problem with Asou; she was a pretty great character overall. I just preferred Rena and granted they did all end up together in the end it just doesn't have the feeling i was looking for due to how the story was handled the last few chapters.

oh well...

disappointing the very common "going away for a long time" before coming back ending was used. I've seen it too often now. It literally kills my enjoyment for every story that has it. The first time it was okay, the second time, the third time, i've had enough.

The villain was uninteresting. Boring reasoning behind his attack too. Unnecessary drama with the car crash? Did I miss why he hated Asou? or was he simply crazy because of his father? I'll admit i started skimming a bit towards the last few chapters. A few characters that were quickly developed and quickly forgotten. That girl who had her hostage was very quick to turn around.

Hate time skips at the end of any story from any entertainment medium. Even when endings aren't "open" and they're practically closed, they always give room to wonder how their lives might play out next. I love this part of any story. Time skips don't allow that though, it's all decided for you. Kurokami and TTGL are two that come to mind. I really enjoyed TTGL, but damn, i wish it ended a few minutes earlier. Kurokami took it to a whole new level. And of course, this manga featured one too.

Well I guess everyone lives happily ever after.

The last arc was pretty fucked up but it was a good read overall. It felt like the author originally planned for Rena to end up with Agawa but later changed his/her mind and went for Asou(though technically we got a harem ending). I'm pretty glad they made that choice because I found myself more attached to Asou. That reminds of threesome; that was pretty hot even though I have mixed feelings about it.

I wanted to see Asou and Agawa get married or at least see their older version. Well it's not really uncommon for endings to be left to the readers' imagination. I really like Agawa's character because of all the borderline hentai I have read recently he's the most human main protagonist and although he isnt really like the agressive type, he also isnt a pushover. And the girls genuinely have reasons to fall for him as the manga noted many times that he is a pretty good-looking guy and is nice. Also he isnt a loser and has a stable job.

Im giving this 9/10. Although I wanted more from the ending, it's been a while since I've been sucked in while reading a manga.

Fvck. I accidentally erased all my comments. Too lazy to rewrite it again.

Well, If you all read it carefully, it safe to say that Agawa ended up with the both of them. But I dont mind if he stayed with Asou alone. Asou> Rena

This is far from generic romance, the mc is quite unique for a seinen/shounen mc.

Manga was an 8 till the last volume, went down the shitter pretty hard then. Especially the 3p and the finale. All in all a 6/10. Would have been an 8/10 if not for this last volume or if there was a more well rounded and longer ending.

It's sad that this series had to so obviously get the axe in the end. A lot of plot threads seemingly disappeared in the last 15 or so chapters. In the place of the teased plot we received a lot of poorly written drama that came out of nowhere in the last 10 chapters. A timeskip, people acting out of character, a villain and two sidekicks who appear out of nowhere, an MC who is terribly injured garnering sympathy from the main love interest after a breakup, and so much more. This ending has it all. Well, everything except a satisfying conclusion to what an interesting plot for the first 70 or so chapters.

Some of the story that I thought would be important was cut out. For instance, the two girls who worked under him at his original job were largely forgotten with their arcs never being fully fleshed out. I honestly felt Kago-chan would be the primary antagonist for quite a while. Her jealousy towards Asou-chan was heavily focused on for several chapters and was never fully resolved. Gatou-san was also tossed aside.

There's also the sister and the rest of her family who were absent from the ending. That aspect alone creates all sorts of holes in the kidnapping plot. Rena disappears for two months and her parents and/or sister are never concerned when they know of her illness? Come on, we're more intelligent than that as readers. Not to mention that two months was skipped in an entire chapter and never really elaborated on. The timeskip had several characters acting entirely differently to how their character growth would've implied at that point.

However, the most glaring problem was how out of left field the villain's actions came from. This villain is also some super powerful dude because he has paparazzi working for him. He seemingly knows the doctor working on the rare disease and gets her to work completely against her own patient. The doctor was never really implied as someone who would do such a thing. Same goes for the employee who ran into Agawa. It would've made more sense to me if Kago-chan was the one who hit him due to jealousy.

I'll stop there because the more I write these thoughts down the more I realize how terrible of an ending that truly was. I first heard about this story in a random manga thread and after reading the first five or so chapters I was intrigued. I wondered why had I never heard of this before. Sadly, I can pretty much guess that reason after finishing it. I've seen stories get axed before and I totally understand. Yet, with this series I can't feel anything but disappointment. I'm not disappointed because the story was axed. My disappointment comes from how it was axed. The last ten or so chapters read close to a stereotypical K-drama and that's not supposed to be a compliment. I could have probably ended the series in half as many chapters with a much more satisfying conclusion.

It's amazing how many manga turn to utter shit during the last chapters, this one included, it's like the authors turn autistic and decide to go with the most unsatisfying ending.

The first 30 chapters of this manga were a 10/10, I was even considering putting this in my favorites, but thankfully I didn't. The manga soon became pretty mehh compared to the beginning but it still was a solid 8 or even a 9 for me. If only these last 5-10 chapters didn't exist...what absolute and total garbage. Overall 6/10.

A bit disappointed, although the ending was fine, I can't help but feel like the series never quite recovered in the latter chapters.

The beginning was fantastic and kept me hooked, although the middle dragged at times it kept me wanting more, the ending segments were just poorly done, and ultimately brought down the original score.

9/10 was going to be the final score, but that changed to a 7/10 in wake of everything that happened.

Like some in this thread, I too wonder why romances have such mediocre endings, some have been great, but they're few and far in-between.

It's not the author's fault if the manga got axed. I'd say he did a good job cramming all that narrative in a couple of chapters - which clearly could've went on for a couple of dozen.

Shimatani arc was pretty unecessary.
A few touchups and vol 10's finish would've been somewhat better.
