Character design seem a bit off?

I thought this seems a little bit odd probably since I didn't really have enough time to watch anime due to schedule in studies but is it me or the character design is kind of off compared to S1 and S2?

I don't mean it changed but rather lack something compare to S1 and S2.

the show does look overall less detailed than it did, lines seem to be alot thiner too.

Some of the character models are a off a tad. Just certain scenes where they don't move other then the mouths. They might get fixed in the blu-rays.

But still it feels weird since the design in the earlier series is more...how to say...attractive in the previous 2 seasons.

Btw I find that Souma's eye is kinda disturbing. It's like it became smaller or...less emotion shown? I don't know how to express that but it's something like that.

It's rather the opposite. Season 2 lacked a lot in that area imo. In Season 2, characters looked way worse than they did in Season 1. To me, it looks more like they fixed what they did wrong in season 2. The characters look exactly like they did in the manga.

Souma for example definitely looks different now compared to episode 1, but that's partly because the art of the mangaka kind of evolved in the first 100 chapters and maybe also because Souma let his hair grow a little longer.

I can definitely say that the character design this season is much more faithful to the manga than in Season 2. Which is exactly the reason, I didn't enjoy Season 2 as much as I did Season 1. Not only the pacing was off in Season 2, but also the characters looked completely off compared to season 1 and the manga.

The chara-design is bad since Season 1.
Shun Saeki is an amazing designer JC Staff can't do something at the same level. :(
