| I have been noticing every episode that the art of this season is somewhat inconsistent(weird face proportioning etc.) compared to S1 and S2. Does it have to do something with the budget? |

| I doubt its budget and more production issues with scheduling, they probably weren't as ready as they needed to be for a 2 cour season. Its really not that bad looking though just got some jankiness its at least not at gintama's past couple seasons level or anything. |

| Production values for Shokugeki no Souma has been dropping every season. Considering how these anime adaptations exist to boost the manga sales (since the anime sales are pretty low), J.C. Staff doesn't need to prioritize on its production values much. |

| I'm betting on the scheduling issue and possibly taking on more than they can chew. Fact that a crucial part of the story had to be cut and put into and OVA just to start rushing head first has made me nervous since ep 1 but maybe it'll iron out over course and fixed for the blu-ray as well. |

| I think that we as consumers want the series to be animed so fast and we do not want to wait 1 year or 2 between seasons. this is one explanation I could come up with that would drive pleasure on the studio's to knock out all these anime's so fast thus the image quality goes down. It would be interesting to know just how long they worked on Season 1 compared to season 3 which by all hopes will be a 24 episode season. We would be comparing the same episode season in that case. Another thing that could be making the studio's pump out these animes fast is all the hype. you want to hit the steel while its hot. Generate more revenue get more people excited about the anime. Just my thoughts and yes I have to say that I have seen dramatic changes in the art work compared to season 1. Even season 2 had it's downfalls. The biggest one for me this season was when we saw Johichiro and Gin in Italy. the art work was really not up to par for those two. not complaining though |
