Mushi to Uta

Interesting... Not that satisfying overall though. 6/10 for all four stories.

The Land of the Lustrous parallels just keep coming, the beetle guy's wings sure look reminiscent of Bort's hair.
While not wholly fulfilling by themselves, I really do appreciate the weird, twisted nature of all these stories; be they plant people, lightning people, star people, or bug people, the stories are approached in a creative and unique way. I'm just glad Ichikawa found solid footing to write a story for Land of the Lustrous, it seems like she had so many little ideas floating about and just had to pull them together and make them coherent.

This was the most confusing overall. There was a lot I didn't understand here.
The plot twist about all of them being insects was...surreal. Should have realized it when Uta kept telling Shiro that they're 'the same'. I feel it could have been developed more.
It was also hard to grasp the jumps between past and present. Kou doesn't look old enough to have raised 17 year old 'children' either.

Oh well. Enough complaining. On the bright side, it is an interesting concept. 'Creating' bugs that transform into humans.
Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.
